That patch I can tell is smooth for the most part. You should have sprayed some primer on it to show just how smooth it is. Can't you just use the planishing hammer to smooth out that 1 hole and then just weld it shut. Instead of cutting it out and welding in a patch? I think that would be easier and quicker. Keep up the great work and God Bless you and your family. 💯👍👍🙏🙏
Great job as always. Nice repair. People get too caught up in the metal being exactly perfect. Every build has filler, and a lot of cars end up getting skimmed all over. It’s funny, a metal guy will spend hours trying to get it perfect, then a body guy will come behind him and wipe a coat of filler from one end of the panel to the other, and start blocking. It kind of eliminated the need to get it perfect. A repair like you did there will outlast all of us! Good job! Oh, and you’ll love the VFD setup.
metal fab ain't my thing but i dig watching your work, appreciate your explainations and walk-throughs. also, that you're building cool hot rods and saving the old iron. i want to support east coast hot rodders as well. it ain't all california!
Just a suggestion, put a couple of diagonals between the legs of the pull max, that's a lot of weight with a vibrating tool. Very top heavy tool with a lot of vibration. Great clean work! Thanks for sharing!
Nice job on that bullet repair That is probably the hardest panel to repair on the whole vehicle being a flat panel if you don't do it right it'll stand out like sore thumb it's awesome nice job keep up the good work I'll keep watching thank you

It’s an electric heating unit. I oil the panel so the dies don’t get ruined and it makes the metal slide inbetween the dies easier. Helps everything move
I'm here because I like watching wierdos weld metal and smash it together, plus I also like traditional hot rods. Great job on the bullet patch, that was a tricky repair, but the finished product is straight as an arrow!

Of all the guys I watch doing metalwork, you're the first to use a portaband. Not that it matters but, I approve. :)

Thank you...
man that patch turned out sick keep it up!
thats coooooool.
Another great video! Have you tried Jason’s gimmick dies? I’m not really sure I understand what is different about them.
He calls his swivel dies “gimmick” because of another shaper always knocking swivel dies.
Good video. Was wondering what heater you are using. Natural gas? Also, Why would you oil the metal when planishing? Thank you.

I was hoping you were gonna show how to repair the holes , not weld in a patch . We can all do that .
