- Solo Winter Shore Fishing in the rain. Graeme is trying to decide what type of fishing he likes best in the winter, and it seems to come out as fishing alone on a deserted beach. He has put together a film to help everyone get distracted from the current lockdown as he talks beginners through some tips that could make the difference in your catch rate. But the weather is taking a turn for the worse and he has to do an outdoor fish cookup of Pollack fillet and mashed potato...but his base camp gets hit by a rogue dog that scoffs half his bait, a fishing towel and some bait thread., coupled to that the weather closes down in a rain filled thunderstorm but he is determined to complete his mission.....Impossible ?? watch the film to find out!

Locked down. Closest i get is watching TH-cam videos. ☹️
- 17 C where I live,the sub culture known as ice fishermen are drilling holes, setting tip ups and seeking freshwater bass,pickerel and northern pike. If I can stop my teeth chattering and body shivering like I'm caught in a 9 magnitude earthquake, I just might venture out. Stay well Mr.P. family, country as well.
Hopefully going for pike tomorrow in a local spot never caught anything there had one that threw the hooks but I’m just going to go with lures

Fishings poor all over mate. Hard going on the cod and whiting front up north. Out of 4 sessions since christmas, I've had one codling, and nothing else. Thats 3/4 blanks, and I've only blanked on the mersey once before and that was a couple years ago. Something strange going on.

Graeme - you are a powerhouse. No repeats with you, interesting output multiple times a week and you are a one man band (even radio 4 is full of repeats). Grateful thanks for helping the week in lock-down go by so nicely. Massive thumbs up from me!
I love bubble & squeak especially when you burn it a tiny little bit while using a plain uncoated steel pan as well as cutting a full tomatoe in half & slightly burning that too, the taste is amazing of the vegies & potato with burnt bits of potato added with slightly burnt tomatoe which is very moreish. Wash it down with a bit of rum when you're out fishing on a cold night & it's very nice way to finish off a meal.

Give it a go...its certainly a different challenge as the sea is not stocked...

A proper Friday night treat, thank you Graham. Good old bubble and squeak, left overs from Sunday lunch fried up. The pan fried fish looked very tasty, as for the mash, it ended before you tasted it so maybe you pointed the groins with it? Glad you didn’t blank and hope you got home fairly dry, cheers for a nice evening

@ 27 minutes, the modern strange smelling “tobacco” that kids smoke on the beach in the dark is called Cannabis 😂😂😂 (I wondered exactly the same thing when I first smelled it and my wife explained 😄) Great stuff as usual Graeme, as a nearly retired ex carper I’m seriously considering the shore and/or small boat and your sea vids give a good idea of what to expect and how to do it.

Just love the beach fishing videos, well done in difficult conditions. Tony from Tony's tackle taught me during a fishing match as I was fishing near a guy that could cast a long long way that the guy would never win a match because he could not read the beach and locate the fish. Needless to say Tony won the match with 28 fish most of which were small ling casting just behind where the surf was breaking. Anyway your videos keep teaching me things and make these bad times a lot more bearable, thanks for posting
No worries more films to come...Glad Tony told you its not always about long casting. I still do OK on one of his terminal rigs called the "Silly Rig" where the snoods are quite short and the close together.Maybe it concentrates the smell in a tighter area for the fish to find.

Been out ice fishing a few times here in Western Canada. Not the same as open water fishing. Can't wait for open water in 2-3 months time.
During this pandemic and lockdowns I went back and watched all of TA Fishing's videos. Great stuff. Only small critique I have is the audio levels. Early on, the volume level difference between the music and voice was really really annoying. I'm watching...and enjoying the video....then the music track kicks in at 5 times the level. Mad dash to the remote to turn the volume down, when music track ended mad dash to turn the volume back up. Having said that, the newer videos are much better. The content is top notch.
Totally Awesome fishing....yes. Totally Awesome cooking....maybe not so much. LOL.

Well done Graeme for giving us something decent to watch. It's a good job you had videos backed up. I've just read the comments and I agree. I think we're all missing a cosy seat in the pub, next to the fire. Can't you get one of these breweries to sponsor you like the youngsters have. I know Mike sometimes gets the odd cans of ale. Or have you been sent some but are keeping it quiet?
I had one bottle that Mike gave me ,but in answer to sponsorship I am happier doing my own thing.I'm of the age I don't need to be told what to do or how to film something ....As I have tried to tell others,no matter if you get sent lots of goodies you'll find it difficult paying your bills with free rod,reels,line etc....And of course its not the tackle that catches the fish,its the knowledge you gain along the way.I think you appreciate a catch more when done yourself ,and I certainly don't want to be one of societies "sheep" that "must" follow all the others. Its about getting the most out of each day, especially the way things are at the moment.
@@TAFishing Well done Graeme. We like you the way things are anyway. I looked on one of my Facebook fishing groups last night and one of the chaps asked who watches you. I was quite shocked. There were people who did but had never told me and most of them on there are in their 60's or 70's. I bet a few of them like myself were laughing at your comments about the funny smelling cigarette.

Hi Graham, I watch your videos with my grandad, we love to watch them and my grandad has asked many times for me to write a comment telling you how much he’s enjoying your videos during the lockdown.
He has one question though that he’s very interested in; can you make a short video on how to deploy the anchor from the stern/cabin of the boat? It’s very difficult on his boat to get to the front so it’s very difficult to drop the anchor. I know you did a video a while back with your mate who does it on his boat but I was hoping you’d do a more in depth one?

Just use one rod & life will be much easier.
Fishing along that area of coast the sewers discharge on the ebb about a hundred yards out (as you saw) so best not eat anything you catch.

Its not just that beach I've fished several freshwater lakes,Catfish etc and seen youngsters (18/20 age) firing up like a bakky processor...smoke everywhere,drifting all over the lake ,and one young lad got through about 5 in a few hours...It was like I was fishing in a pot parlour !!...Its a wonder the birds weren't falling out of the sky with a smile on their faces.Seen (and smelt) more in the last year than ever before. I wonder if its the pandemic/lockdown/stress that is causing such high usage ?...maybe that is what is causing global warming ??? Answers on a postcard.....

Oooh look at that ragworm. I've been struggling to get it recently; and when I do it's crap. Half the worms are dead and the other half are tiny.
I did have a spell of getting sold rubbish worms but my last couple of purchases were quite good...I noticed when I edited this latest film the worms seemed quite red and I wonder if that indicates commercially farmed worms ? Anyone out there know ?
@@TAFishing I was talking to the guy from my local tackle shop and he said all the ragworm around at the moment is farmed in Holland and imported to the UK. (At least that's true for down here in Devon)
I suppose it's just luck whether a shop get's a batch that's been stored well in transit or not.
Went out fishing today and was sucking in the rain, have to get that content out though..you know how that goes brother!
