No doubt the larger Garrett coil will go to deeper depths too, but i have found the smaller 5x8 coil was far superior in pinpointing when in all iron mode, meaning the larger coil passed right over a penny and a gold coin without beeping in all iron mode but did pick up iron at twice the distance. The problem with searching in coin mode with larger coils is it will not detect small gold coins and buttons. There are trade offs to any of these different sized coils. I myself prefer a smaller pinpointing coil in all iron mode as it may not go as deep but will pick up many more valuable objects the larger, deeper coil fails to pinpoint and register. Just passes right over it! You will go about 8 inches deep but miss nothing. Larger coil, 12 inches but miss some type coins and objects.

Great test, top end machine depth tests, just by upgrading coil, I've got both ace 250 and 300i and a big dd coil transforms them, good video
Any difference between 250 and 300i please.
