    One of the best videos for beginners and saves us rookies from digging large holes in the ground and becoming tin can miners. Well done John

    Coin runner John good video on ace 250 I own 2 of them and noticed that rusted iron rings in the coin range to alleviate this accept the first segment when you hunt and hit rust the low tone sounds when mixed coins and rust are gone over you hear both to know what to dig this can be the custom mode and if you don't mess with zinc then after duplicating coins in custom mode reject the zinc penny cursor to avoid them which also rejects screw caps which are the biggest pain in coin hunting

    Great video i really enjoyed it ... Keep making them it gives me something to watch untill the weather breaks and it atleast gets into the mid 40's here in Ohio .. Also thank you for the pinpointing tip with this machine .. I just bought an Ace250 myself & have been out once with it. Found 1.45 in clad. But, i wasnt sure when pinpointing if it was the center of the coil or towards the front .. You cleared that up for me !! ... I've subscribed and i look forward to watching more of your videos !

    I reinforced my rest with a thin coat of JBweld on the parts that are sensitive. Had the same cuff two years so I did something right

  • @newtrussell1835
    @newtrussell1835 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Garrett started getting too many complaints about their arm-cuffs being way too breakable, so now they make their arm-cuffs with outer-ribs supporting the curved structure of them that tends to break. It is definitely an improvement. :)

      i have the 350 for over a year and im doing fine :)
      It's a very nice metal detector imho and a like it very much.
      This Christmas i'll buy the Garrett AT pro ,since, at this point in time , i want something more professional , but i'll keep the "ace 350" anyway.
      Obv , as any other thing in this world , there are preferences and tastes , so i like it and you don't , but the machine definitely worth the money it costs imho.
      It sufferers saltwater tho , so if u want to go to the beach you have to be aware that on wet sand it will give you some false target
      If the 250 it's the best selling metal detector it will mean something i suppose :) i'm not saying it's the best entry level md , but its a good machine .

    • @Krytern
      @Krytern 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +ItSeemsDark What's better about the AT Pro over the 350 apart from it being water proof? I don't know much about the AT Pro.

    • @ItSeemsDark
      @ItSeemsDark 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      well , it uses an highter freq. , so it is more sensitive to small targets.
      Plus it has a numeric ID feature witch allowed a more precise identification of the targets.
      Plus it has a better audio id of the target as well ( used in pro mode , but you can also use the "normal" ace tipe sound if u like the ACE bell better :P ) .
      I mean , overall it's a better machine than the 350 ,

    Coin Runner John I am about 5 feet tall, does the Garret Ace 250 have a pole(I don't know what it's called) shorten enough so that someone of my size could use it without it being too big?

    The best coil for the ace 250 is the garrett 8.5x11 or the nel hunter 8.5x11 after market coil both give a great increase on depth and both are £100

    Video Tip: When you're shooting video your phone will likely default to 30 FPS (Frames Per Second) which explains the jittery video quality (annoying), Set your camera to 60FPS. This will give you much smoother, and tolerable videos! Ask me how I know.

    I just bought an ACE 250 a week ago and the arm cuff looks to be better made than yours. It's a bit thicker and ribbed on the outer side adding giving it additional strength.

    John, I realize that I'm watching a 3 year old video, so perhaps you have improved the technical quality, but based on the two that I've watched, I have to say that your content is excellent, but the wind noise, camera focus, etc are very distracting. I do like the way that you usually seem to get right to the point... my time is valuable to me, and so many TH-cam "artists" want to waste it with useless chatter.

      ***** yes , getting what seems like bogus readings is quite normal. The different soils, minerals in the ground are only a few factors in determining how your detector reads the magnetic field. Dig, Dig , dig when your in doubt. Flip tops and soda cans wow they are all over. Silver coins , i have yet found one . Cannon balls, bullets, gold rings ( they have readings like aluminum) i can't even see them thru a pair of binoculars. ( LOL) I still keeping looking for different places to hunt , even if it is a repeat location. It is easy to miss a target. It is frustrating a lot of times. you will see you are going to dig a tremendous amount of garbage to find a few treasures. If you don't have patience this may not be for you. I get a lot of 99 readings to dig up metal products. Learning your machine is going to take many hours of practice. OH, did I mention a lot of hours of looking. Oh and wait to see how tree roots are going to frustrate you. Go out with a clear mind, enjoy the outdoors, relax, take time to catch up on your prayers ( good Lord knows we are always short on talking to Him) Have a nice day & hunting my friend. I thought this is a very good video.
