One thing you didn't mention was that Muggle is probably the biggest contributing factor to turning EDG around after After (lmao) stepped down. Haodong wasn't the only one doing stuff behind the scenes, and if anything you gotta treat the two as a duo more than anything else. Muggle is a very calm and composed guy who took the lead whenever they were prepping for another series, and his anti-strats were literal masterclasses considering the time crunch they were under a lot of the time during playoffs
@@tylerchan8468 After stepped down and moved back to Taiwan for the rest of the season. One point to clarify that Smoggy is not cut by EDG back then, he just loaned to EDG by WBG, returning to WBG later and beating EDG then in 2022 FGC. But later this year, WBG's performance went down so the org decided to disband valorant roster. Therefore, EDG just picked Smoggy back as sub. He then played as 6th of EDG for 2022 champs and had the opportunity to play on stage for the first series due to Life got covid in Istanbul. Besides, the LOUD image used for masters Tokyo is their 2022 roster might be a little outdated but no worries Love your video mate🎉and hope to apply for authorization from you to let me translate and post it on Chinese video platform🥹

watching GF was incredible frustrating (i supported TH). i took 9 month break from valorant and came back at the tailend of master shanghai. TH performance was really good for majority of the year compared to EDG performance at the time (performed poorly at both masters), i didn't expect much from them and they flew under the radar going into champs. as a prx fan i was surprised they got grouped by edg and i wasn't expecting them to go far in playoffs. with the likes of sen, TH and Lev it felt like edg were still weaker team. but seeing them beat lev was the moment when i realised that edg is a better team then i give credit for. however, watching GF made me gobsmacked by the plays, particularly KK on neon on map 2 and 3 (imo neon is a OP agent) which made a dominant 1-2 split, but it got more competitve on bind and abyss. frankly KK eco round 21 was so absurd that it broke my mind and i couldn't help but feel salty about it. though since then, my mind has changed. but moving forward, i am not sure how i feel abot edg going into next year. as i said before their performance was mixed this year and i can't help but wonder if they can keep the same momentum from champs to continue to perform at high levels next year, or was it a fluke (not saying it was a fluke, but it definitely a whiplash in expectation).

@@z-t0xx437 Sure. History does tell us that has always been the case for the past three Valorant World Champions, but that's because they changed their roster and coaching staff, hence they really struggled finding their stride the very next season. EDward Gaming though, they have a massive momentum going into next season, and the history of their team's roster change is telling us the same case... well, except for bringing in S1Mon and After as coach but you get my point (this video also emphasized that part anyway). With the way their current roster's experience went, and the way their chemistry has grown massively and becoming World Champions in the process, I genuinely don't see them breaking apart and falling off going into next year, at least. They have multiple targets on their backs, for sure.
