Your video made me smile! The sound of those two-strokes and the beautiful autumn scenery brings me right back to the days when my friends and I were ripping up and down dirt roads on old-school machines. There’s nothing like the feeling of freedom those rides brought especially on crisp fall days like this. Thanks for sharing and keeping the memories alive!
I had the last year Suzuki 250 with the 6speed and with a twist throttle, and boy dig it haul a%s!!! Miss it.. Raced a kid with a tricked out Honda 250r and he raced competition, I blew the doors off him one day just playing around. Never saw him again 🤘🤘
Trx250r guy here that owned and rode with a lot of LT250's. The LT's were pretty good except the front end geometry. Check for thrust washers on the wrist pin on the lt's, they fail and lunch the motors. Those thrust washers failing ended the life of otherwise good used machines.
Love your channel my great grandparents had a farm in thorp wisc we go up there every year to ride our quads on the trails in clark County around black river falls etc.
Had a couple quad racers 85 stock motor with DG pipe would do around 70mph. My 86 had motor work DG pipe. My cousin tried clocking me this was back in the 90’s. Brand new S10 pickup he couldn’t keep with me on my quadracer. Said he was doing 85 couldn’t keep up with me. I was so far ahead of him I must of been doing close to 100mph. Idk if quad been geared up or not bought it used and I was just a kid lol!! Fun video thanks for sharing
Don't know what the transmission gear ratios for each machine is, but seeing the low profile tires on the tecate, I was predicting it would be slower before I even saw the results...fun video, takes me back seeing those machines together!
Could be gearing, jetting, tire pressure, tire tread and size, terrain, all those factors come into play when finding top speed. Great vid though guys, and GIVE ME YOUR TECATE!!!!
If the engine in the tecate is completely stock, that Klemm pipe might actually be hurting performance a little, I doubt the stock exhaust would give you any more top speed but maybe a little better 0 to 60. The suzuki really surprised me. Good test gentlemen.
You should REALLY have checked the gearing/sprockets on each of the quads. Assuming equal rear, just one tooth bigger on the front would eaisly equal +3mph. All gearing equal, the Suzuki and Honda were always very equal on top speed. The Tecate engine was significantly stronger than the others. Something to the tune of 6 more HP than Honda or Suzuki. I can only assume it was geared lower,as they were the fastest of the 250s.
Ya I’m a little bit confused about your sons top speed of only 64mph on the trx250r, that thing wasn’t revving out enough what I heard, or he was going up hill 😂, premium gas with not to Rich of a oil mix and new plug should be spot on. My ears were hearing like 500rpms less then stock. They usually run 70-72mph
@@TheMapleDude1 Oh I know unfortunately, 😏 might wanna look into a compression test on that stock 250r might need a new set of rings on it if it’s never been opened all these years. All I know it’s not running like it should be, Nice clean quad though, not trying to offend ya! Just trying to keep it real 😅
That trx250r clutch sounds like shes grabbing too much, a bone stock R should pull 71 mph, maybe not on a dirt/gravel road, but it almsot sounds like the clutch is slipping. Nice video though, just trying to help, as a 250r owner she just doesnt sound 100% right
My clutch on my trx250r and doesn’t slip and I’ve only got mine up to 65 I’m guessing it’s cause it’s still on stock head and probably piston since engines lose hp as they get older
Stock gearing? Idk.... I built my daughter's Yamaha blaster stock was 55mph or so now it tops out at around 70mph to 72mph.... destroyed my brother's Polaris scrambler 400 2-stroke 4x4 for two high line pole lengths. Did full port n polish high compression piston, 34mm intake and mikuni carb plus geared up a tooth up front and down out back plus 22 inch tires back and 23x7 up front... plus a little head work.... it's at the limits of pump gas. Now I own a modded yamaha raptor 770cc as well

Appreciate it tim I geel.the sane way. These machines were a big deal to a lot now middle aged men.

Haha nice! Yes underated machine!
I appreciate the OEM machines.
It's nice to own something that doesn't shatter records however WORKS great for its intended designed purpose. 👏👍
Agree cause not many left like this.
Awesome machines. My favorite year of the Suzuki was the 87.
Great machines!

Thanks for the tip.
The pop up headlight on the Kawasaki does it for me and the sound of it. Great content 👊🏼🏴
Yes so cool.
Quadracer for the win!
Yes!!!
Great content!!! I so bad wanted one of those race 250 2 strokes back in in my youth :)
I was the same.

Awesome that's where you'll find us riding most of the time.
Another great video guys
Thanks+

Awesome stories I love it! Thanks brother!
Great video Maple Dude! The Tecate may had a little left on top,but I wasn't suptrised at the result. The Suzuki is deceptively fast.
Yeah after watching the film jack prob left a little bit there... he could've held on for a few more seconds.
Great video!! Out of the three 250s what’s yours and jacks favorite to ride?
Me the trx
Jack the quadracer
Don't know what the transmission gear ratios for each machine is, but seeing the low profile tires on the tecate, I was predicting it would be slower before I even saw the results...fun video, takes me back seeing those machines together!
They were low profile, but the were actually stock dimensions.
Totally thought the trx would’ve gotten it but no! What a surprise. How do these compare handling wise which is better to ride do you think.
I personally think the trx handles best, quadracer 2nd, and tecate is by far the worst.
Just kind of looser steering on the tecate 4?
@kollinspencer847 top heavy, tippy
Could be gearing, jetting, tire pressure, tire tread and size, terrain, all those factors come into play when finding top speed. Great vid though guys, and GIVE ME YOUR TECATE!!!!
Exactly well said.
What’s the front and rear sprocket size for each machine? 🤔
Stock as I said in the video.

Thanks you, you could be right... I dont know other than the pipe.
Them are some sweet machines and yeah everyone always thinks they're faster than what they really are
EXACTLY
I how much you want for that tecate and honda?
$1,000,000
@@TheMapleDude1 come on rod real. Just the honda then
My 1986 trx250r on hard pack does 70 stock. Gearing was stock 13/39. 1988-89 models were geared 13/38
I'm sure it varies between machines.
I raced mx & gncc for 12 yrs on a honda 250r back in the mid 80's & mid 90's. Love your content.
I got my 86 up to 65 both on asphalt and dirt
@@dennisspence2915 I agree ☝️ man
@@codykorzenowski6888 I’ve seen a 250r hit 72 on asphalt firsthand

To my knowledge they are all stock size sprokets and tires.
This why Suzuki ruled the world. Digger drove these to many races.😎
1st on 4 wheels!
Very sexy machines! Excellent video. It got my adrenaline going. I was predicting the Tecate4
Thanks for watching man!
2 strokes ftw in life
Yes
Dint see the gasgas 2stroke
Nice!!!
@TheMapleDude1 but that's kind of the holy grail in the 2 stroke world I think and there aren't many of them in America

Suzuki lt250rs always sound underwhelming but are very fast machines, I was hoping for the QR to win!!! Hehe I’m definitely biased 😂😂

Need a banshee in here.
It was a 350
