    I get it 90% of chess players suck. Thanks alot for showing us how to get better. We're not alll trying to be the greatest in the world, we just want to enjoy the game without losing all the time.

    My elo is above 2000 and I think this is nonsense, beginners can learn a lot by watching Hikaru's videos, or videos of any other good chess streamer

    What a joke. The video is well made but the actual talking points are ridiculously stupid. It is undeniable that educational chess content from channels like Chess Network and John Bartholomew have bumped up my online rating by over 500 points. I don't know why you feel the need to inject all this drama and mystery into a topic that is very straightforward. I have to wonder what *your* rating is, since this script seems like its coming from an

      I kinda agree with his points, especially at higher ratings as it gets harder and harder to evolve and usually youtube videos arent meant for those who are above 2000. what makes difference in a 2000 and a 2200 or above is not tactics or oppenings but very more complex patterns or positional games which are not usually shown. I agree that at an intermediary or begginer level those chess channels help alot but not at the higher levels. You'll notice when youre at a great rating that theres alot of "patterns" and actual good strategies which are not talked about by the chess masters( and they know them)

      @@rednalokinn I am sitting at 2200 bullet, 2000 blitz, and 1900 rapid. Chess education content is effective, it's just that simple.

      @@N8Dulcimer You just ignored what i said about its being effective at the intermediary levels, 1900 at rapids isn't even at an advanced level

    • @tongpoo8985
      @tongpoo8985 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@rednalokinn 1900 rapid is absolutely advanced if you're talking about chesscom or FIDE. You would be formally classified as an "expert" at 2000. But in regards to your other point, there is one and only one chess channel that I could use to disagree with your statement, and that is ChessNetwork. Has covered loads of games from the past, modern day, engine games, and he takes his time breaking down the finer positional points of the games in meticulous detail, as well as all relevant variations. Has hundreds, maybe thousands of games covered with the same level of quality analysis in all of them. If you watch those videos and really pay attention to them, you learn a lot very quickly.
      Most other chess channels I'd agree though, it's mostly popcorn content.

    You obviously haven't grown up in the dark ages of chess, where it was hard to find opponents and where you can only learn about chess from checking out Fred Reinfield books in the local library. With all the free information out on the net these days regarding chess, you have to be a complete rere to not improve in the game.

    I did not listen to the vid, but what i get out of the chess tubers (95% of the time), are a bunch of people who are terrible teachers, and usually can't figure anything else out in life off the chess board. They are also full of themselves. It bugs me to no end, to have one of them show a famous game of world champs, and instead of explaining the thinking of the worlds best for their moves,--constantly interject their own moves,--as if they can beat the world champ. In reality, they are a bunch of losers IMO, who are only good at a game.
