- The Strasburg Railroad's ex-Norfolk & Western, Baldwin Locomotive Works M class #475, sounds better than ever as she shows off her new (and better sounding) whistle.
For crossing signal fans: The signals at the first crossing (Paradise Lane) are all RACO, except for the Safetran 8" incandescent lights on the signal without the bell; notice that the Strasburg Railroad signs on the masts are gone, and the RACO bell is faster? The second signals at Esbenshade Road are freshly-repainted WRRS Model 10's.
Yes, gotta love that shop built 3-chime. On that boiler you can almost close your eyes and think its 7002 gliding through there.
I miss this kind of crossing set. You don't see this set anymore very much.
That whistle will probably be switched back to the 8 inch hooter soon. They put on the 3 chime every once in awhile.
This is the first time I have heard a beautifil Whistle on #475, they need to leave this one on her.
I haven't been on that train in 8 years.
Oh the memories of getting soot in my eye...
:(
I like locomotive #475's new whistle sounding
wow, that's where I was, and there's a new whistle on 475 then 2 weeks ago!
Awesome 5 stars!!!!
In my video, "Strasburg Railroad - #475 and #90", #475 has the 12" hooter.
Great video, 5 stars!
3:25 he's booking it
mabye the hooter broke.so they made a 3 chime (i think )
@SeriosProdductons, no. it was shop-built.
That is a shopmade 3 chime
i thought this engine had a hooter whistle
What happend to locomotive #475's old whistle sound?
Almost sounds like Ohio Central 1551.
Did you mean whistle
Do they use this line for freight trains too?
Did the old whistle come with #475 (i.e N&W)?
