The movement of the rotor turns the electrostatic generators (the 2 round things at the bottom) generating electricity which is stored in an accumulator. This electricity is used for 1) power for the electrostatic motor that powers the sweep hand (the round thing at top left), 2) power for a standard step motor to drive the minute and hour hands and 3) power the integrated quartz circuit that controls things to keep everything accurate. It's been compared to the Seiko Spring Drive but really it's more accurately compared to a Seiko Kinetic movement (rotor spins, generates electricity, which is stored and used to run and control watch).
I'm thankful they made colors besides green, I just wish they'd make the hands bigger and more visible, if the whole watch is skeletonized you don't need tiny skeletonized hands (I'm looking at you RM!)
All this effort was put into this interesting movement but it’s hard to see the hands to see the time. They kind of blend into the parts of the movement.
Technology is amazing, dial is interesting but omg its too big, the lugs are ugly and its missing color. I guess they were going for a Jacob and Co look, but a huge miss for me
Getting out in space and having to RE PLACE the capacitors is knot a good thing. For the money EYE hope Teddy B. is mistaken but if he's correct, EYE wouldn't pull the trigger. Accutrron may bee on to something but right now its worth about $300 to me if that.
@@RandomRobReviews My watch feltl to the floor and broke, it was an accident, but the crystal is a dome, and it is very expose. Any way, the crystal replacement is about $2,700.00 USD of cost, and I have wait for 90 days to get it back ..... I do not recomend to buy this kind of watch... only if you are not going to use it...
@@RandomRobReviews I do not blame the watch, The point is that Bulova charges about 60% of the cost of the watch to repair broken crystal. It is ridiculus.... 2,700usd for a crystal????? come on!!

So basically dark magic. Got it
@@RandomRobReviews hahahahaha exactly
“Basically dark magic!” Haha love it. This thing is so sweeeet! I’m with you, love the variation that has the pops of green on the dial.
Absolutely stunning. Thank You. Cheers from Italy.
Imagine if they did a Chronograph or even a complete Calander with this movement.
Marc at Long Island Watch did a "Watch & Learn" on this movement late last year or the beginning of this year. It was pretty interesting.

Awesome looking thing. Very different !! 😊
I feel I need to own one of these some time down the line.
Beautiful watch. Very cool.
Got one on order...cannot wait!
That thing is so cool. I couldn’t see myself spending $3300 on that but it is way cool. 😎
Great review! Have you heard about the durability?
Amazing watches an I'd like 1 but for the price, I think there are many competitors. Sequent watches are a good shout at a third of the price
WOW!!! This Accutron is freaking amazing. Very cool but would I wear it?
All this effort was put into this interesting movement but it’s hard to see the hands to see the time. They kind of blend into the parts of the movement.
It has interesting technology in a ridiculous hockey puck.
One thing made me buy the tuning for over this, Its large for my wrist.
These are very cool 😎
That’s a beauty.
Cool tech, I guess we’ll see in a few years if it’s worth the cost. The looks are not for me on this model though.
The way the case is designed reminds me a little of my Seiko Helmet
I got motion sickness with the watch moving around all video.
So this will mark the first time I've gone to accutron's website.
Very nice!
I like the dark magic theory of watch workings rather than the actual science!! Nittmo
I would love this watch, a 40/41mm case would be ideal as this just wears too large.
All new Bulovas are too big unfortunately.
I agree with you, even in 39mm this one should have been perfect for me.
That is badass
I wish these things could be based off of tuning forks instead of quartz
I like It, but i never going to buy one 😂

I'd run far away from such "electric wonders" :)
This movement has been around since the 60s and it's reliable. If your scared of this you better just stick with timex Quartz watches .
@@TheMarky26 nope, it is brand new, not 60s :)
@@MrVitamincpp where do you get the chromosomes you eat for breakfast??
💟
The generator makes electricity which is stored in the capacitor. The precisionist is a much better Bulova buy and has more accuracy.
hope accutron will have woman version..hehe
To bad it isn't thinner.
Review/tangent meandering by Grandpa Simpson...?
No tuning fork.
The bad thing about this watch is that if you break the glass it will cost more than 60% of the cost of the hole watch. Disappointing.
Have you ever broke a crystal? I have never broken one.

Watch is fine, I recommend not dropping the watch or any watch for that matter. The drop is to blame here not the watch design.

$3300 trash they can keep it
