I actually love the contrast of this. One side is right at the edge of how much bass the human ear can hear, so low that most bass-addicts don't even think of making music in such an octave. On the other side, one of the highest instruments there are
Fantastic Anais! It looked like an amazing experience; playing next to an awesome earthquake machine - just wish you'd stuck a mike or pickup on the thing, then we could have been shaken about like you must have been! But bravo - what an amazing treat!
I think my ears are broken bc the octobass sounded crazy out of tune to me but that's probably bc i was struggling just to hear it. I guess it makes sense that our sense of pitch would get messed up around the extemes of what we can hear
Bowed instrument producers: we need a bowed instrument Bowed instrument makers: how about a violin? Bowed instrument producers: we need a bass version too Bowed instrument makers, ok, we just make the viola, is this good? Bowed instrument producers: no, we need thats not bass enough Bowed instrument makers: o- ok, how about this, it's taller than a child and we think it will suit your needs, the cello Bowed instrument producers: bassier Bowed instrument makers: **shaking in every limb** t- this is too big to fit in the flatbed of most trucks, surely the double bass is good for you, right...? Bowed instrument producers: you don't understand, **makes the octobass blueprints** Bowed instrument makers: dude, if we make that out of real wood, that would tear down like an acre of forest land, plus, you say it's lowest note is SO low that it's frequency isnt even audible to the human ear, this will sound terrible! Bowed instrument producers: perfection
In truth, octobass create a unusuall timbre, but not valuable. It's not hard to come up with many different instruments, but it's hard to come up with an instrument with a valuable timbre.
Non so... Ti vedrei bene con la ?Alos, credo fareste una bella coppia. Tu oltre ad esser veramente brava sei anche bella. La ?Alos è un mutante iperbolico. Parere di un cialtrone illetterato
Doesn't fit the music, I think it'd work really well in vivaldis la folia, its a very crunchy piece and has some good bass drops which would really suit this
Who looked at the double bass and said, ''Yeah, but we need a bass voice''
I see Octobass and still saying "Yeah, but we still need a bass"

There has to exist a 7-8 foot tall person to play the octobass. Would be awesome to see.
@@frenne_dilley Who?
The closest thing to that I know is Davie504 (6'7", 2 m tall) which did play it at one point

Yao ming ripping the octobass apart
Можно сделать контрабас 5/4 и настроить его G1, D1, A0, E0, можно будет полноценно использовать в игре. Удивляюсь почему до сих пор нет такого)
The only one word that I can use to describe this is the word *"Pitch."*
Id use “The bassiest bass that can bass” 𝄢
Ever since Barry Lyndon, I fell in love with Sarabande by Handel. Somber, emotional, and cathartic.

That's cool that you can sort of hear the individual "clicks" of the very low vibrations of the octobass!
So where is the octocowbell?! I’ve got a fever baby! And the only prescription is more cowbell!!!

I don't think we humans are biologically programmed to hear in that low frequency.
That, or our ears may not be trained to hear it.
There are tempos that are faster than those lowest frequencies lol
jay leno out there making moves
Bellissimo, l'ottobasso è quasi doom!
Curiosità: questo pezzo è famosissimo ma non riesco a ricordarne il nome. Qualcuno lo sa?
