Honestly, a lot of Jade's behaviour can be explained as trauma responses too: hurting others before they hurt her, unstable relationships with others, not knowing how to show affection to friends and lovers, extreme independence and difficulty being vulnerable/open about emotions.
Even if that's the case, there's still something to criticize in that her character never learns not to make that excuse, or really struggle as a result of her behavior, forcing her to cope and change. I think that wouldve been nice to see if the show had lasted longer, cuz i don't think any of the episodes that explore her feelings do enough justice (imo).
@@nuclearseahorse I agree if the show went longer that hopefully they would have had her grow more, but many people don't realize they are doing certain things because of trauma or how to make the change. Especially if her fight/flight/freeze/fawn system has become maladaptive. It takes years and a lot of constant hard work to physically rewire your own brain. Jade seems to be in a fairly constant fight mode with her strike first tendencies, as well as extreme independence, which are incredibly difficult to change, especially if you don't recognize or understand how traumatic events affect the brain or that you've even experienced traumatic events. Trauma is very subjective on top of that, with what constitutes a trauma being incredibly different for each person, all dependant on their mental states/ages at the times of trauma, how others responded at the time, their resilience and mental strength, etc. While I agree it's not an excuse, it's also not necessarily in her control or entirely her fault. Even if we know what trauma behaviours and defence mechanisms we have and use, that doesn't always mean we can control it. She is a bit better towards the end of the show, meaning she was able to recognize some things and how, but overcoming trauma is a life long battle that for most needs professional help, and for many needs intensive programs.
I think Jade might have actually liked Tori if her first interaction wasn’t her on her boyfriend. I believe because of this Jade got an insecurity and thinks that Tori is what Beck truly wants from a girl. Because of Jades past she now needs reassurance and with that attention. Her source of it is obviously Beck and her seeing him give another girl attention makes her lash out as she might see this as an acceptance that she had fought so long for.
I think that's also because Back is giving her trust issues. Maybe not intentionally, but think about it. He's this super hot guy. Pretty much every girl at the school wants him, including Trina which may be the reason she dislikes her so much. And Beck may not realize he's doing it, but he flirts with a lot of them. He sends them looks, smiles at them in a certain way, etc. He even hangs out with other super attractive girls while they're dating (ex. Alyssa Vaughn). So Jade probably doesn't trust him, while also feeling like she isn't wanted by him. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk sorry this was so long lol
@@dinahgrace8409 I honestly believe Beck does that on purpose. I remember in one scene of them arguing, Jade says, “Why do you insist of pushing my buttons like that?”
@@bloodygardens Yeah. Another thing that he did, which was horrible to Jade, was kiss Tori in the alphabet game. He could have said something like, "Let's not." But instead, he said, "Let's do it." I think that feeds into Jade's insecurities, knowing that if someone asks him to kiss them he may actually do it.
just today i saw an old slap video about her and a bunny. She was saying how much she loves they and dosen´t care if people founds out. She was even doing baby voice for the bunny.
The only time Andre has a girlfriend in the series, he was with a mean black girl who everyone hated and they were only together for one episode. Andre deserved a better story
@@AM-xq8nl You need to look through the eyes of someone else. Angry/ aggressive stereotypes and caricatures of black women are EVERYWHERE. Even though all the characters in this show are slim attractive teens, they still manage to add black women as a loud-mouth comic relief. I would've liked Cat to be black instead, they wouldn't have to change her character, and she reminds me of myself.
@@kennedyjojackson1202 I noticed this pattern in a lot of Dan Schneider's shows. It's gross that he made all the black women into one dimensional stereotypes the rare times that they'd actually appear.
Jade probably isn't evil, but she is super insecure and has done some horrible things. She does have her sweet moments. At least some of her antics are funny.
"Jade probably isn't evil, but she is super insecure and has done some horrible things. She does have her sweet moments."This description can 100% apply to Elizabeth Hawke from"Wicked Science"too!
I'm not the biggest fan of saying "I think a character has 'x' disorder", but as someone with Borderline Personality Disorder, I got to say, Jade meets a lot of the qualifications for a diagnosis. Fear of abandonment (related to her issues her with parents), lashing out at people because of that fear, etc. I definitely head-canon her as having it.
I have a friend with bpd to and I was misdiagnosed with it in the past. But let me tell you through my experience therapy has done a lot more for me than being thrown rigorous meds and treatments that only made things worse. I feel like if you have trauma you need therapy not a diagnosis
@@saraluciaforerogarcia if this is the experience with some people that’s great but that has definitely not been my experience or my friends experience. The meds make you feel worse and therapy was not provided by my insurance but the pills I now know I did not need were always there. Same with my friend. I overcame my misdiagnoses and have a new doctor that does not throw pills at me and I’m on no meds I lost all the weight from the meds I have a job and im doing good in school. None of these things are the case for my friend and so many people with bpd including ppl misdiagnosed that don’t really have it. People need therapy. I’m glad to year people have not only negative experiences because when it come to bpd this is the first I’m hearing about something positive. But fact of the matter the way the mentally ill community is treated needs to change
I’m so sad this show got canceled I feel like there was so much room for character development. I wanted to see jade open up to beck and get a little softer. I wanted her relationship with tori to get better and evolve. I wanted to see Robbie get older Ditch Rex have some clap backs to the people that were mean to him INCLUDING HIS FRIENDS. I really wanted then to show why Trina is so confident in herself when everyone else said she sucked, and I kinda wanted to see what she was really good at. I wanted to here about becks life instead of him just being the pretty boy. I just wish the show wasn’t so neglectful of the characters lives. I fell like this show had real potential to talk about some serious topics especially since it was on Nickelodeon. Like why wasn’t Andre and him having to deal with his demented grandmother talked about a little more instead of it just being pure jokes. Don’t get me wrong I love the jokes but I wish victorious had more sentimental growth would have loved to see it had the show went on. Hope they reboot it
@@danecranberry6025 yeah like degrassi next gen has so much character development and eye opening scenes and Victorious had the potential to become like literally immacualte but it’s a nick show it wasn’t really taken serious or meant for those reasons it was more take everything with a grain of salt
@@helpmegetto10kwithnovideos81 I'd rather have one or two TV movies to close out the series. I don't want a softball reunion special. I want a TV movie. And, in it, I want to see Jade get a taste of her own medicine.
“jade doesn’t like being touched AT ALL. in fact the only person she lets touch her is her boyfriend beck oliver. aaannnddd her 😏‘acquaintance’😏tori😏vega😏hmmm😏more😏on😏that😏later😏”
Not only that, Jade even INVITES Tori to touch her as the series went on. In the Christmas episode, she immediately let Tori pat her down for scissors when she was cautious about it. When Tori reaches her chest area, she says "Don't be shy" in a very teasing tone while giving a sultry smirk.
@Ok. do you remember like all the references to some “pirate game” with cat? and that one time cat covered her eyes from robbie saying he had a surprise for her and said like “i don’t want to see that thing again!” or something and there was a laugh track ive literally never seen anyone talk about those moments
I believe jade acts the way that she does is because she didn’t really have the love that she needed from her parents like cat and she did mention that she wasn’t close with her dad in wok star and I figure that she ain’t that close with her mom so that’s why jade seems like she has anger issues because she probably has so much sadness and anger pent up in her
That is so stupid. Just because you are not shown love by your parents results in the kid being unable to express care, affection, and love to others? That's sounds so stupid.
Voice Acticon that can really fuck a kid up in the head believing no one loves them, that’s why jade is so mean and cold because she feels like she can never let anyone in
@@Sosa355_ That is a load of bull. I don't believe that. You need to get something in order to express and feel it? When I was 7 I had a family member tutor me in reading and anytime I got a question wrong, he would hit me with a hammer. When I was 14, my aunt punched me in the jaw for something I didn't do. In school I was assaulted and verbally shat on and my elders did absolutely nothing. After all those things, I never disrespected my teachers and never treated any girl like trash. I hold a grudge of what happened and I help those. People say to never respect those who don't respect you back and I find that stupid. It is best to respect people even though if they don't deserve it. Give kindness to those instead of waiting for someone to give it to you; somebody has got to start the change. I doubt you need to be provided love and kindness in order to be capable of doing it yourself. I never believed in that shit. Load of nonsense to me of what you are saying if you ask me, no disrespect.
Voice Acticon people act differently, you know that right, nobody acts the same, maybe that’s just what she wants to come off as,maybe she wants to be in known as a mean tough girl
@@Sosa355_ well it’s idiotic for her to be thinking this way. The type of people I can’t stand are those waiting to be treated a sort of way in order to move on. Like a person who acts like a bully in school just because no one in school gives him any kindness. Instead of waiting for kindness, just give it to those who need it. I guess that’s one of the reasons why I can’t stand Jade. I hate it when people want others to tell them something positive about themselves in order to be positive through their time. People always complain about not being liked, so they act mean and I hear the excuse ‘they don’t know how to express’ I’m tired of hearing that crap.
I thought I was the only one who wanted jade and André to develop some sort of relationship.cause as much as Beck is likable character he really take her feelings for granted and a he uses her insecurities against her.letting tori(no hate against her) kiss him in the first episode was the first red flag for me 🚩 🤷🏾♀️
@@bi_beans9011 you would be right if he accepted a role in a play or something.... But this wasnt a scripted kiss. They were playing an improv game where the only rule was that each person's sentence had to start with the next succeeding letter of the alphabet..... He did NOT have to kiss Tori.... when Tori said "kiss me" he could have just said "let's not" or "let's do something else" or something like that and moved on... And even if he did have to kiss Tori to win the game, at the end of the day it is just a silly game with no prize, and it ultimately means nothing ..... so what's the point in potentially overstepping a boundary with your significant other and making them uncomfortable and insecure in that instance... Better to just lose the game
@@ChelseatheCreativeFox-pc2xz I think Andre and jade had potential. Andre did admit that he was afraid of jade, but after spending hours alone with her, he gets used to her presence and even trusts her to try a harmless experiment. you can see in her eyes that she enjoyed Andre,s company by the end of their after school session after Andre complimented her singing. Its likely the first time someone has spent a significant amount of time alone with jade outside of beck that hadn't tried to run away. Andre saw a whole new side to jade that very few people have seen: jade being nice and vulnerable. looking back on Andre,s character, it actually makes sense for him to have fallen in love with jade. Andre later admits to tori that its next to impossible for him to keep his feelings to himself, but jade has the exact opposite problem. she has trouble expressing her feelings with anyone other than Andre likely because beck seems to ignore her feelings, but Andre paid full attention to her and only gave positive criticism. if they had gotten together, Andre could have helped jade to become a more open and sensitive person and she might have actually been happy for once.
I feel like its because the word panties is very feminine, and usually femininity is perceived as being weak. So sam probably hates the thought of being seen as weak, and jade probably hates the idea that it would make her seem less intimidating. Idk just a thought :)
Fun fact: Elizabeth Gillies recently married Michael Corcoran, the guy who composed various songs for Victorious and Drake and Josh. If I were her I’d marry him too. Also she sings obscure show tunes with Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane during the virus and they sound really good together( The collection’s called Songs From Home). If you like me to tell what Leon Thomas lll and Avan Jogia are doing these days, I’d love to.
I also have this theory that they dated and in Sam and cat, cat is dating Sam. (Cat’s type is dom girls) and in the episode with jade in Sam and cat Sam was trying to make cat jealous calling up her ex jade. Jade lesbian Sam pansexual cat lesbian tori bisexual
I know that these take a long time to make because you actually have to watch almost all of the episodes and get an actual analysis on the characters before making a video. That’s why I don’t rush the process, but I get so excited when you post. 🤍
Might as well do all the analysis at once if he's rewatching the episodes tbh. I love the show but I wouldn't want to rewatch it over and over for videos. One go through for all the characters with A LOT OF NOTES should be good.
Believe it or not the Jade & Trina videos were done entirely by memory. There are a few TV series that I just seem to remember well, Victorious is one of them.
I think she actually dislikes a lot of people and she doesn’t just push them away because she is afraid of losing them “Tori isn’t my friend” “ I only tolerate robbie” “No one likes Trina” “And cat is basically a pet” She didn’t mention Andre Why? What’s that symbolize
Lol she didn’t mention her boyfriend and Andre it’s pretty obvious that she didn’t want to admit that she likes cat it’s obvious they’d be best friends
I loved this. I agree that they should’ve explored Jade’s relationship with Andre more, that would’ve been so interesting. Maybe if there ever was a Victorious reboot, they could have more continuing storylines and actually have Jade and Andre get together for a bit
I agee! I feel like out of all the characters Jade respect Andre the most. As far as I can remember she was never overly aggressive with him nor did she ever humiliate or name call him. She was supportive of him too. If anything I would argue that Andre brings out the softer side of Jade.
Yeah after rewatching the show as an adult I totally agree. Jade and Andre totally should have dated and they would have been a way better couple than her and Beck.
That could have caused some issues between beck and Andre. They were pretty good friends. And I think Andre could easily bring out the good in jade as a friend. Or even beck knowing how to comfort jade better instead of going back and forth with her. Like that episode where tori was trying to get jade to date someone so beck could. It would have been cool if cat said jade should date her brother, introducing him for the first time and he would be just like jade just a little more messed up obviously. And jade would realize how unbearable she is and the whole beck storyline of that episode would stay the same and jade would break down and explain a lot of things and beck would get it and let her know that she doesn’t have to be that way with him. I’m so sad this show got canceled, there was so much potential for character development with each of the characters.
hmm I've never seen anyone ship Jade and Andre together. that would be really interesting to see! I think maybe Jade respects Andre as an artist (and also he's the most "normal" in the group so she doesn't see why she needs to mess with him), or maybe Jade was just being professional when they were working together.
It's sad how Jade's background makes her act the way she does. But it doesn't mean her behavior would or should be condoned. In real life, someone like her would be written off as hard to work with or avoided in Hollywood because people are so uncomfortable around her. Plus, she'd get arrested for assault if she actually laid her hands on anyone. By the way, isn't it ironic that Jade's never been to jail on Victorious for anything she did or was the cause of, yet Sam Puckett have been to juvie multiple times on iCarly. They are both very aggressive girls yet Jade has never gone on record of being super violent to anyone, except for that time she tried to drain Tori's blood or that time she drove her out into the desert to try to murder her. She's the most likely one to go to jail, yet it never happens.
Jade is sneaky and she's mostly all talk, she gets away with things because even when she does get violent it's generally not in public (correct me if im wrong it's been a while) Sam on the other hand resorts to violence first, she aint talk and can actually hold her own in a fight, i don't think Jade can tbh but Sam doesnt hesitate to be violent in public therefor is more likely to be caught and arrested
she seems to know when she will and will not get in trouble I don't think that she should've murdered her scaring her to leave her in the desert was legal and hurt tori and moving the blood bag ...was sneaky enough she is more cruel to cat because cat wouldn'y hurt her back or report her
Ah, yes. It’s good to know that there’s someone else out there that doesn’t give Jade a pass for her behavior on the basis of her rough upbringing . I think it’s important that people remember that interesting doesn’t mean good when it comes to characters.
Actually Tori had to donate three pints of blood not two. The first one jade put on a food trolley and the second one Robbie was playing with and accidentally dropped. She also gave Tori bush daisies which would have been a nice gesture if Tori wasn’t seriously allergic to them.
this is probably the best assessment of jade's character i've ever seen. "to counteract her fears of being rejected, jade bites first." this sentence in particular really came across to me because of how accurate it is. she really does embody the saying 'you can't get your heart broken if you act like you don't have one.' amazing video!! i would LOVE to see a video on tori and jade's relationship ;) (jori for the win)
jade is a stereotype as all characters tend to be. But its true, depression/anxiety/ and growing up in a home with fighting makes you very annoyed at the world. You get very easily irritated and put on a front of anger often bc being happy is too hard.
@BrianaLynn7 Well there is nothing wrong with that. Because not everyone needs to be happy when you're not happy. Because anyone can feel whatever way they want to feel. Because you're just saying that because you have a problem with that and you need to back off NOW.
growing up watching the show i always wished andre and jade got together. i was lucky enough to grow up in a household with no fighting so i knew that jade and beck's relationship wasn't exactly healthy. i'm only a recent viewer but i've already binged all of your analysis videos :)) very excited to see more from you
Actually, I believe Jade uses Tori some type of outlet for all the girls she wish she could’ve punched her face for flirting with Beck. Because you rewatch the show a lot those girls aggressive flirt with him with Jade sitting right there or continue to flirt with him even when she says back off once. Tori on the other hand when she learned, that was her boyfriend, she immediately backed down and tried to apologize. Which I guess something Jade wasn’t used to so she took that as a side of weakness, and just started bullying her ever since then. Tori can be just sitting there doing absolutely nothing to bother you and Jade will just come up and just I don’t know cover her face and chili cheese, fries, fries for whatever reason. L
jade and cat were the best friends of the show even though they barely showed it jade had a soft spot for her and they can connect through their trauma. she also protected cat no matter what
@@thisismybrutality5061 not really Trina is she basically stole the show I mean jade is funny and all but not that funny I mean she couldn't even steal cat and Sam when she gust star on it
Based on her play in which a girl drowns, I think it represents how she felt when her dad left her. She said “my dad only likes to be with her new wife and his new dog” So after her dad left she felt like she died. “The girl falls of a wall and drowns in her tears” And then we also have the deepest dream that Jade holds since childhood, the only thing that could make her soul be healed (she feels) “The girl comes back to life when her father kisses her forehead” Her father leaving broke her, and she would only be healed if he comes back. Loved the poem
I feel like if jade puts all of her emotions into the arts it would make sense why andre developed a crush on her when he heard her sing. I can only imagine the kind of feelings a person would have seeing someone who is usually closed off seem so vulnerable and open towards/ in front of them.
As someone with bpd I really love Jade, because I feel like she has it too, I mean it all comes together, fear of abandonment, a neglecting parent, heavy trauma, hurting others before they hurt her, unpredictable mood swings, hating to be touched, being mean to her favourite person even though in reality she wants the best ect ect but even if she doesn’t have it, it’s really nice to see someone like her
I’ve noticed that Liz Gillies characters are so closely related. Jade West: parents divorced, not a happy family, lives with her one of her parents. Fallon Carrington: parents divorced, lives with one parents, not a happy childhood. Also I’ve noticed her dad on both shows look so much alike.

Holy hoots, I would die if you would make a Jade and Tori analysis, these two have been on my mind since I was younger! Great video as always, keep up the great work!
Jade scared me as a child. Now since I've matured I have compassion for her character. Hurt people, hurt people is a quote that made me understand jades persona more and come to love her. Because Jade has been hurt it has made loving and having a positive outlook on life a little more complicated for her. "When life deals us cards Make everything taste like it is salt Then you come through like the sweetener you are To bring the bitter taste to a halt." ~ Ariana Grande Always turn salt into sugar. It will make life sweeter. ♡
I honestly believe that Jade is mean, 'cause thats how she shows love.. but she goes overboard sometimes, 'cause she doesn't know better (aaaaand its a comedy tv show)..
"cause thats how she shows love" kinda undermines the literal abuse she put people through at times. Like yes she's a broken person, but her coping mechanisms and the way she acts at times isn't ok. Her background is an explanation for her actions, but it shouldn't ever become an excuse
@@U.E-o4w and thats why I say a person should be helped. She needs to be shown the way.. if we shun her, she's proven correct and just thinks she's unlovable.

yess, Andre and Jade would have made an amazing couple, i treasure theirs little interactions that were a bit more recurring when she breaks up with Beck, like in The Hambone King.
ive always related so much to her and now i can see why. I have a severely traumatic past involving sexual and mental abuse along with fighting parents so a lot of the traits Jade shows really hit close to home for me.
jade is mean because she says what's on her mind. robbie on the other hand, uses his puppet to say what he's thinking but also tries to argue with the puppet in a way to show that he's the better person. that's just my opinion, i think robbie is wayyyy worse.
@Jayniac Jr. I would say that there is nothing wrong with Jade. Only because she is goth and has a dark sense of humor and not afraid to express herself. Because I would say that Jade is a stereotype bad girl that happens to be a tweener that doesn't care about anything all that much and that's why.
@@thisismybrutality5061 Well, I heard that Jade tried to hurt some people, including Tori, Cat, and some boy she ran over with her car, so of course there's something wrong with Jade.
Her perspective on things is just misunderstood, but has deep insecurities about herself and her relationship with Beck. And because she's quick to anger super easily, her only way to get rid of it, is to spread that anger onto someone else by insulting them. Sometimes, when she's not angry, she can still insult people for fun and tease around. She can't really control her own emotions, so sometimes Beck needs to help her to keep others from being disrespected.
@Grace Namkung I say Jade doesn't need Beck's help at all. Because Jade can always express herself and do whatever she wants and do whatever she wants to do something to anyone she wants to. Because that's why I love that about Jade.
I can relate to this sentiment here at 5:19. Maybe this is why Jade relates to Cat and the others. No one else has a great home life, it seems, except for Tori.
So andre didn't have a good home life? Or beck? Andre doesn't live with his grandmother, and Becky only lives in his RV because he didnt want to live by his parents rules(but was allowed to live in his father's RV).
Cat, Robbie, Beck, and Tori had both their parents together though Cat's parents had arguments with each other and Tori's mom was having an affair. Also, didn't Robbie's move out at one point. We don't know about Andre's home life besides his grandmother.
Jade always seemed to might like the type that if she was mean to you she actually liked you but if she didn't like you she didn't bother at all. If you compare the mean she is to Trina to the mean the main group gets the insults are as bad in a way. Love this analysis. Man you make me wish the series would have had another season.
I still think she was kind of evil but understandable to some extent. However, it's not Beck's, Robbie's, Cat's, Andre's, and Tori's fault that Jade's homelife sucks. Heck, the others didn't really have it much better not even Tori especially toward the end.
It's fascinating how these so called 'fictive' characters are so deep, complex and realistic that they've literally got whole video's dedicated to them talking about and analyzing them as tough they're actual people :) they actually did a very good job at these shows regarding to that if you think about it 👍

It’s obvious Jade was robbed of a happy childhood hence why she was so quick to scream at Cat for singing the theme tune of a kids show.

Because Jade has been hurt it has made loving and having a positive outlook on life a little more complicated for her.
"When life deals us cards
Make everything taste like it is salt
Then you come through like the sweetener you are
To bring the bitter taste to a halt." ~ Ariana Grande
Always turn salt into sugar. It will make life sweeter. ♡
I honestly believe that Jade is mean, 'cause thats how she shows love.. but she goes overboard sometimes, 'cause she doesn't know better (aaaaand its a comedy tv show)..
Cruelty is cruelty, and should never be excused. Also, what Dan Schneider passed off as comedy was thoughtless and negativity.
@@danecranberry6025 but if a person is broken we need to help them, not just shun them.
"cause thats how she shows love" kinda undermines the literal abuse she put people through at times. Like yes she's a broken person, but her coping mechanisms and the way she acts at times isn't ok. Her background is an explanation for her actions, but it shouldn't ever become an excuse
@@chichizekitty5694 no we dont. Especially if said person is toxic
@@U.E-o4w and thats why I say a person should be helped. She needs to be shown the way.. if we shun her, she's proven correct and just thinks she's unlovable.
“This is actually causing me pain and not the good kind”
Nickelodeon’s got some problems
Or I do you’ll never know
I'd love to watch a video on Tori and Jade's relationship. This was so entertaining to listen to and, as someone with similar feelings that you analyzed from Jade, this made me feel less alone.
Wait, wasn't Jade analysis done before? Am I tripping balls?
idk i just found this channel yesterday but he did do a short analysis on every bit of the victorious main cast, if that's what you're thinking of?
I've only done a general analysis and one where she was paired with Beck. I've received many comments asking for one specifically about Jade.
So i am not alone in that feeling
I’m dying for a Robbie analysis, he’s my favorite character, what an incredible actor
He wasn't interesting
yess, Andre and Jade would have made an amazing couple, i treasure theirs little interactions that were a bit more recurring when she breaks up with Beck, like in The Hambone King.
ive always related so much to her and now i can see why. I have a severely traumatic past involving sexual and mental abuse along with fighting parents so a lot of the traits Jade shows really hit close to home for me.
I like to think if the show didn’t get canceled it would’ve looked into jade and andras relationship
No it wouldn't bc they miss the opportunity in one ep and Jade don't like him in that way that whole ep show it.
Welp guess I'll see this in a couple days
Jade x Andre would’ve been so beautiful....they’re my two favorite characters and they’d fit so well
jade and andre would look good together tho 👀👀
I’m so excited!!! I love Jade!!
She's scary.
@@ChelseatheCreativeFox-pc2xz nah she’s cute
@@umm4847 Cute and scary.
My favorite Jade and Tori conversation:
Jade: you dont look happy?
Tori: I'm not!!
Jade: *looks at the coffee and grins* "yayyy!"
She hates Tori
22 hours! Can't wait, love Jade, love this channel I've been waiting for this one forever
Have you thought about how Jade and Robbie are actually very similar?
How so?
jade is mean because she says what's on her mind. robbie on the other hand, uses his puppet to say what he's thinking but also tries to argue with the puppet in a way to show that he's the better person. that's just my opinion, i think robbie is wayyyy worse.
@@thisismybrutality5061 Then why does she have Beck?
I can relate to this sentiment here at 5:19. Maybe this is why Jade relates to Cat and the others. No one else has a great home life, it seems, except for Tori.
And Tori's mom was suspected to have an affair with a different man.
So andre didn't have a good home life? Or beck? Andre doesn't live with his grandmother, and Becky only lives in his RV because he didnt want to live by his parents rules(but was allowed to live in his father's RV).
@@BabyGirlTiny But still.
I just noticed, Jade has a bunch of pictures of Joan Jett on her wall. That's so epic!!! love that little touch
jade screaming at trina "no one likes you" is so mean but hilarious. i feel bad for laughing at it every time
I still think she was kind of evil but understandable to some extent. However, it's not Beck's, Robbie's, Cat's, Andre's, and Tori's fault that Jade's homelife sucks. Heck, the others didn't really have it much better not even Tori especially toward the end.
Jade was- and always will be my favorite Victorious character.
Because?
It's fascinating how these so called 'fictive' characters are so deep, complex and realistic that they've literally got whole video's dedicated to them talking about and analyzing them as tough they're actual people :) they actually did a very good job at these shows regarding to that if you think about it 👍
Ive never even watched a complete episode of victorious but god damn i love your videos, cant wait for a Tori and Jade video!!!!!
Shoutout to all the homies who grew up and realized they're just like Jade West. I'm sorry life is hard and everyone thinks you're rude for no reason, but I hope one day you get therapy. Godspeed.
I used to absolutely despise jade as a child but now that I’m living exactly through what she is(minus a relationship) I understand why so many people love her as well and that’s why she’s one of my favorite characters
Doesn't excuse some of her actions in the show, you know.
Jade is one of my favorite characters from Victorious
That face reveal was so cute.
I honestly could see jade with autism she hates when people touch her that could be a sensory issue she has she also has special interests like scissors
YES, thank you for this analysis and delving into all of Jade’s complex layers! I think it’s easy to just label her the “sympathetic villain”, but it’s so much more nuanced than that.
Also YOU HAVE MY VOTE FOR THE JADE AND TORI VIDEO :D
I feel like people need to remember this is an exaggerated show. Playing off intrusive thoughts and ideals from mental disorders for many of their tropes. You have to view characters from this filter or they'll all look wack.
I think the point is that while all the characters had interesting traits, jade was the only person who tried to hurt or kill people because she wanted something, or because she just felt like it
I swear the alliteration is king every time
