    Hi Aussies.
    Borax powder mixed with either sugar or icing sugar will do the trick, place it in a small dish, it dries them out and they die. You could try honey as well.
    Spare screw. Baz I am sure you meant 10 spare screws. I know you can`t carry spares of everything on the boat but if one has fallen out you may be about to lose others, Oh and Lock Tite / Stud Lock to put them back in with.
    Smooth Seas to You both.
    David.

      @SailingABSea  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good tips there David, thanks for sharing. We'll redo all the screws with locktite. 👍

    • @AannshaJones
      @AannshaJones 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi David, yes I used to use that mix in Aus. I haven't seen Borax here, and also I wasn't sure about the small dishes rolling around the deck, which is why we went for the baits! But yes, that mix works very well.

    Very nice videos. I just started watching a few of them. Suggestion of what I like would be more time spent just looking at the area you are going through and getting a feel for what it might be like to gaze at the water and the land as you travel, especially with the sails up.
    I do enjoy the relaxed style and banter and attitude you both have. Thank you so much for bringing me along.

    Having the Queen ant’s nest inside of the door, does that mean you have to check the core of that door panel to see how much damage was done?

    • @SailingABSea
      @SailingABSea  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Bayani, there was no evidence of any boring out by the ants and the door is just cosmetic so we don't need to check the core. 👍

    I had small cockroaches. I tried everything and they still survived. Eventually I put down bait traps like you did and that wiped them out in a week

    • @SailingABSea
      @SailingABSea  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Any insect with the ability to fly is a potential problem for a boat. Cockroaches are disgusting creatures.

      Yes, even in Norway we have had one month with heat and no rain, so the danger of wild fire is big.
      Just reading there might be a pyromania problem,
      In the Antalya there are a lot of Norwegian summer house.
      And therefore some roomers.

    Firstly I need to Express the love we feel for you 2. We've absolutely binged your channel since finding it and have loved every minute. "Get baz and ansh stuck on" as soon as I get home from work lol. We have our comp crew course booked in Southampton in november and we want to know what those shoes you really rated that time in Greece were? Lastly we are thinking of chartering a boat in the med as we are too young and poor to give up work and sail there from the uk. Is there a country that is reasonably priced for bare boat charter that you would recommend. Lastly I want to thank you both for your content, we love every minute of it! "Time for a beer" xx

    • @SailingABSea
      @SailingABSea  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Chris, thank you for watching and becoming a subscriber, we appreciate it. 👍 The white soled deck shoes we love are from the Decathlon store, we've been wearing them from day 1 and still love them.
      The comp crew course is great for literally learning the ropes. Once you've completed day skipper, get yourselves an ICC and you can charter anywhere. You may want to consider chartering with a flotilla as your first option, that way you'll have experienced people to show you the difficult bits, like parking. 😀
      As to recommending a place to charter, that's difficult at the moment with all of the traffic lights changing colour every 30 seconds. Greece or Turkey are great learning grounds.
      Here's a link to the shoes. These are the ones we currently wear: www.decathlon.co.uk/p/adult-aquashoes-snk-120/_/R-p-169796?mc=8491519&c=TURQUOISE_BLUE
      Having said that, there is a new design which we may try next time: www.decathlon.co.uk/p/500-women-s-aquashoes/_/R-p-2653?mc=8578993&c=TURQUOISE_BLUE
