Just parroting what other comments have said. This is the clearest description I’ve found yet. Super informative but manages the tension of clarity and depth without becoming a 45min ramble fest.
Want to say tank you. I literally started editig videos a month ago, so I am a very beginner. But I could follow along your explaination and this fixed the ussues I expirienced while working in Resolve with my 9 years old computer.
OMG!! Thank you. After extensive reading, watching, and even testing, I think I finally have a handle on proxies and optimized media differences and applications. You obviously work from a script to eliminate prater, so thank you for that as well as for not trying to entertain us with an inane background sound track. Good-on-ya. Subscribed? Oh yeah.
Appreciate the informational insight. Definitely taught me something. I've been using both. I've seen that if I use one or the other, the playback is still choppy. But if I implement both, the playback is smooth. I shoot UHD4K Footage, 24fps, from a Sony A7c camera, and edit on a MacBook 16GB M1.
yo, this whole video is gold. Thank you so much! One question that I had was, does proxy media compress audio files as well? I am trying to send a timeline to a sound mixer with all the related footage and audio files. I am not sure if the sound mixing will require original files or will proxies effect the audio's quality?
Over my head, in the very best possible way. Back to the video, lots of great info here! Thanks...
Best explanation of the difference in Proxies vs Optimized Media for Resolve that I’ve seen. Thanks.
Bro voice so smooth it had me falling asleep while I should be paying attention
Oh no! Lol.

I love this comment. I try to get to the point and say enough so you have a solid foundation to work on as you progress through the learning process.

Do you have a video on the topic for those below beginners? This video is still too confusing for me.
where's the SUBSEQUENT episode?😭
This next episodes are in the works which have to do with improving Resolve workflow preformance and color management. Sorry for the delay.
