I live in CT and our soil collects a lot of water. I have planted hardy succulents very successfully by adding a very fast draining mix to combat the moisture from our rainy times. My succulents are all healthy and are thriving. Just a suggestion that you may find helpful.

Usually you can see those at lowes and they have a medical cross on the tag to let us know that's the health benefit one. Hopefully this helps... thanks for your water tip. Xoxo

How are your aloes doing now after all of this? Hope they survived and are thriving now!! have 3 aloes that were really thriving. I live in IL so they're indoors for the winter. @@TheSucculentHome No worries. Thank you for responding at all! The 1 with the pups is doing really well. The other one is still really droopy. The leaves are falling down and hardly stand up on their own. I have some bamboo sticks to keep them upright. I purchased new soil for them, the cactus/ succulent kind. Repotted it and only water it when the soil starts to dry out. When I repotted it the roots were really short, when they were very long at one point. So I'm really not sure what's going on. I think it's a lack of sunlight. I give them as much as I possibly can but it doesn't seem to be enough.

You should always keep them in a pot, they don't like space, don't ever put them in the ground again, please, for the love of aloe

The Succulent Home Have you ever watched Maria’s Garden? She has a nursery with desert roses, succulents, and house plants. It is a great resource. She uses cinnamon on cuts and new plantings and replantings. Is is anti-fungal, and helps dry up cuts. In fact she beheads succulents and instead of letting them callous over she dips them in cinnamon right away. If you haven’t already, go watch her. She is a dear person and LOVES all of her plants.
