    That's a gorgeous character, I'll be waiting for your playthrough, though I already jumped in on this incredible game.

      It's so good. Were you already playing before the Kickstarter or is it the Kickstarter what got you started?

      @@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring nope, I started with this KS. I heard about this game years ago but didn't dive deep in it. Now I'm sad I didn't.

      Nice. I hope you have fun with it. I was only supposed to be collecting the goblins, but thanks to the Kickstarter that's gone out of the window. At least I restrained myself to just adding the exclusive miniatures to my base pledge!

    The Moonstone minis look great and I'm sure they're a blast to paint.
    Not a fan of kickstarting brand new games and definitely not products that include kickstarter exclusives. However I don't mind kickstarting expansions as there is a product out there that you can use as a guide for quality. Another exception may be if you trust the designer or have heard gameplay reports from the convention scene. Brand new IP's with no pedigree though are a no-go for me.

      They really are lovely. I broke my rule for Moonstone because I know the game and the quality, and I do trust they will deliver. Even so, I'm not making it a habit. There are just too many things about Kickstarter I don't like personally (which is not to say it's a bad platform, just not something I personally want to use if at all possible).

    Oh, such beautiful models! I'm now checking out the kickstarter and definitely do not need more tabletop games... But it's so pretty! Though, on your paperback vs hardcover book thing, I tend to prefer paperback books for rules and things because that way I can more easily fold the book back on the pages that I need (which is why the back cover of my Kill Team book is all curled, LOL). But I also understand wanting books of the same game in the same type. I just really wish companies would provide paperback and hardcover books both for their games so you can choose (looking at GW... Hardcovers are pretty but I find them much more unwieldy to use). Anyway, gonna have to look into this game a little more because some of those models are very hard to resist ;)

      I can understand why you prefer paperbacks. I just love hardback source and rules books, and I know I would be kicking myself if I wasn't able to get this book in hardback after the Kickstarter (especially having seen how nice the core rules book is). The Moonstone miniatures are lovely - be careful if you start looking at them too much. That's how they got me!
      It is worth pointing out that most of the stuff they are offering in the Kickstarter is already available from their store. The Kickstarter is offering some discounts, and then there are the new exclusives, but if you're interested in other items it might not be worth going through Kickstarter.

      @@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring Looking at your other videos (which I'd somehow missed *sigh*...) I think I'll keep these models in mind for a fun paint project (especially those fairies, those look soooo nice, plus the cute goblins!), but the game itself doesn't sound like something we'd play here. We prefer co-op type of games or just simple battle games without too much hassle. But I'll definitely keep an eye on them for the miniatures, as those look very very fun.

      Thanks for checking out the other videos. I usually prefer the tabletop games that don't have any hidden information, so I can set up scenarios and run both sides (I'm one of those weirdos that really enjoys playing miniatures games solo). Obviously that's not really possible with the Moonstone game mechanisms, but I just couldn't resist getting more involved.

      @@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring I can understand the appeal, yes, and it looks super interesting with a lot of mechanics that look fun. I just know that we won't be playing it, so I'm probably better off buying the miniatures for painting and if I ever do feel like playing getting the rest of the game elements then.

    I couldn't back the KS due to funds at the moment but just hearing that the rule book when it's released will be paperback only..... mmmm That does bother me. I've only downloaded the rules, standees and cards to have a quick game and really enjoyed it. The mini's look stunning so do want to get in. Hopefully they cahneg their minds and release in hardback as I will be getting the core rules as the book is filled with lovely back stories. More of this please!

    • @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring
      @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's my one concern really, and I hope they don't live to regret that choice. The Kickstarter books are already going to be signed and numbered, and they could have done an exclusive alternative art cover. I just feel like people who have the core book in hardback will want the Arising book as a hardback too.

    • @maktb
      @maktb 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring 100%, the numbering and signatures should be enough fo the KS exclusive part. I really hope he changes his mind. I'm on the cusp right now on either getting the book or a few miniatures to replace the standees. I would get the starter if I could afford it.

    • @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring
      @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@maktb By the way, I believe it is possible to just order the Arising book from the Kickstarter campaign as they have it listed as a separate add-on. I think you can back at £1 and then add the book in the pledge manager. Just a thought if you really hate the idea of missing out on the hardback book.

    Not huge fan of hardback. I can take Softback and get it spiral bound so I open page and it will sit flat.
