Hoover Concept Two Electronic U3301-030 Upright Vacuum

This is my vintage Hoover Concept Two upright vacuum (from the early to mid 80s), model U3301-030, that I bought on Facebook Marketplace after always wanting a Concept Two since I got the Concept One ( • Hoover Concept One U42... ) and the Hoover Powermax ( • Hoover PowerMax Suprem... ). For someone who has been exposed to many Hoover Elite Uprights most of my life, I've always appreciated the Concept based Hoovers, and I will admit, these Concepts were much better built than the Elites were. The Concept series was made back in the late 70s as the top of the line in the Hoover lineup and replaced the Dial-a-Matic series. The Concept Two was a higher end version of the Concept One that actually came with a on board Dustbuster style Hand Vac that Hoover calls the Help Mate that is attached on the front of the vacuum base and can be released by a button behind the top of the base next to the speed controls. The way that the Help Mate gets its power is by the vacuums main cord which can be removed from the side of the vacuum and can be stuck in the Help Mate to give it power for cleaning furniture, stairs, and upholstery. This vacuum being the top of the line version of the Concept Two comes with an electronic speed motor controlled by two buttons on the top of the vacuum base that control the speed of the motor for higher or lower suction (definitely good for using on certain carpet conditions that doesn't require too high of suction). It features a 5.6 amp motor with direct air design and takes Hoover Type A bags (this example is running the Hepa bags that are hart to find these days but worth it in the filtration and surely increases performance). The suction is average, the airflow is amazing, the Help Mate's suction is pretty decent, not the best because no one expects miracles from a hand vac, but I believe it's much better than the hose suction of the Hoover Powermax (successor to the Concept Two), the agitation is great for a machine that's as old as this is, being that it has it's original Quadraflex brush roll with pretty great condition brush strips. My only complaints about this machine is that this is stupidly loud when in use (I think even my loudest Elite seems more quiet than this), and you can't find parts for these machines anymore since Hoover discontinued most of the parts. Overall, I absolutely love this vacuum and is certainly better than anything Hoover makes today.
