Carissimo maestrissimo, another brilliant vlog - you just gave a 5-year instructional course in charcoal drawing in 15 minutes!!! One of the zillion things we instructors have to get our wannabe-a-Realist-painter students to understand is that, as you say here, a good work of Realism starts out ABSTRACT!! A painting/drawing is made of smudges and tones. As you know, this is how I make my underdrawing stage, but using oil paint, before I go on to the underpainting stage (usually, these days, in deadcolour). Annigoni, under whom I studied in the 1960s, would have loved this liquid charcoal!!! I'm passing this vlog on to our students at the Angel Academy-they'll learn a LOT! Thanks for this. (I'm going to be out of Florence for a part of the summer, giving workshops in Yorkshire and Ireland-after my workshop in Florence-but let's try to get together for a drink or five when you and Valentina are in Florence this summer!)
Wow… ❤ that’s inspired a complete beginner…. Only started a couple of months ago… I’m sooo into charcoal and bought this nitram liquid charcoal and of course I’ve not used it … yet… Thank you for sharing your incredible fine art, your a genius ❤
Wow...Cesar The painting looks absolutely terrific I love the way the corner of the mouth, above the eye, the collar bone is defined.... And the loose strands of hair, and porcelain skin it's just so perfect
HOW I DRAW WITH LIQUID CHARCOAL;-- Saw the video and yr above demonstration. You are a MASTER PAINTER. Only a few are gifted like that. Yr grasping of human details and the way the human body reflects different shades based on the angle with which it hits the figure is stunning. When you see closely at the figure one wonders whether it is painted or photographed, such are the delicate details. I am myself little experienced in drawing and painting but cannot come even near you. Yr grasping of human detauls and understanding of light and shade is inique and unparalled. Vatsa BANGALORE INDIA
I just made my own for a school project by scraping the charcoal into a powder and adding it to water and gesso to create a painting. I didn't know they actually sold liquid charcoal! X3
the zip and pep in your performance is the reason why your work looks alive.SIMPLY AMAZING!! and thanks for introducing a new medium for me to try out!
Wow! A terrific drawing at every stage of it. I might have stopped when he was at about the halfway mark. A really good teaching demo! I can’t wait to try this!
Forgive me, but I noticed that you stopped using the liquid charcoal at 3:50 and the remaining artwork was completed with solid charcoal 😅 I was hoping for a full demo on liquid charcoal like the title suggests. 😊 but your choice causes me to wonder if liquid charcoal is only best for initial stages? Is there some reason why you cannot use the liquid for the whole piece? Basically, I want to understand your thinking. Why did you choose to finish the piece with the solid charcoal over the liquid? Please, I would love to see a full liquid charcoal video if possible
Very very nice work..... I love pencil drawing i love your all pencil work ..... Every work very helpful.... I am using your teknik.......... I am an little artist in India... U are a very talented...👉💗
@Cesar Santos WOW ....Cesar...or should I call you God....:) A true CREATIVE ARTIST... .I bet you will be just as BRILLIANT working with mud from your back garden as you are working with Liquid Charcoal; regardless of the medium you play with... Thank you for the precious time you are spending with us. XX
Superb ! I enjoyed watching your technique in this one and how it evolved. I think I will try some of this liquid charcoal on my ink wash wax resist drawings. Thanks for posting this ! 👍😃
It's the first time that I see this product and I'm really impressed, it looks great for an underdrawing. Such wonderful technique and skill increase my appetite for work like crazy :))
Awesome Cesar...as always. Also such great music choices - old school ‘real musicians’ playing live together before the ‘help’ of computers 😄 a pleasure to listen to as well as watch. Thanks for sharing this 🙏
Now you've got me excited about maybe using charcoal generally this media is Messi for me and I have always had a problem controlling. I've been way from art from so long that everything is new to me and exciting keep making videos thank you
Great review Cesar Santos. It's basically a mutation of two mediums behaviors: oils and watercolors because it's very flexible like oils where you can keep applying layers but the consistency of a water based property. I will try it.
Very late reply and you've probably already got an answer but, just in case, yes it is erasable in the same way as regular charcoal, *when it has dried*.

Preto do Zimbabwe This way easier to hide constructional mistakes, wrong proportions or a lack of likeness in portraits.

SOOOO; is this liquid charcoal easily erased? IF so, can it be erased with a kneaded eraser or does it need a different eraser to do the job?
Very late reply and you've probably already got an answer but, just in case, yes it is erasable in the same way as regular charcoal, *when it has dried*.
