  • Last race of the Pinarello Powered series, this time on Mayan 8. Also, last race under the old categorization. It was about time...

My name is Adam, I am 35 years old and I am a former marathon runner who shifted his focus on ZWIFT CYCLING.
Road to A is a channel focused on INDOOR ZWIFT RACING with the ultimate goal of reaching the A+ CATEGORY. Is it progression realistic? Maybe. I'll need to train a lot and lose a lot of weight, too. However, I believe the BIGGEST LIMITATIONS riders (and athletes in general) have are those they put on themselves and this channel is my way to prove that idea. If you feel like you are riding (or living) BENEATH YOUR POTENTIAL, you need to tag along! The destination is clear but the journey won't be easy.
Currently I am racing in B CATEGORY.
SUBSCRIBE because it makes me happy :) : / @roadtoa
As for my ZWIFT SETUP - I am riding on a ZWIFT HUB ONE indoor trainer. Steering can give you pretty substantial advantage during the racing and for that I am using the ZWIFT PLAY controllers. I use these for virtual shifting as well and to make sure I'll be covered if they run out of battery or generally stopped working, I've got the ZWIFT CLICK as well. I am running my Zwift in 4K and using the ULTRA settings.

Love the climb time and power!! Thanks for adding that. Felt your pain on this one. Hoping that the new racing scores makes it a little nicer for moving up! Don’t get me wrong - I’m here for the fitness and okay dying after getting bumped up but being in the bottom of B is rough! (For myself I mean)

Thank you! I just bought a new editing machine so I plan to add more stuff like that in the future!
And yea, B is rough lately. :D

Nice work holding the front almost to the end of the 1st KOM. Gotta get out of the saddle and into a standing pedal for some portions of the race, including pieces of the climb, to change which muscles you are using to hold the pace of the group. Maybe cya around in the new racescore events and good luck on the quest to A.

See you Dan, what group will you be racing at? I guess you are over 700?

At the moment the supertuck only works if you are at the front of a group. Strangely you get more aero benefit from the supertuck than from drafting - so the second person in the group needs to keep pedaling, or he will loose contact. Pedaling hard enough to pass the lead will get te lead to loose the supertuck, and if he does not speed up, he will drop behind. It is a very strange system, and very hard to get a grip on when you are used to riding outside, where you need to grab some brake if you want to stay behind the lead in a descend.

@@RoadtoA It used to be different, but this is at least a few months old, I think, maybe longer... Only matters when descending a steep slope in a group, so it is easy to miss.

I enjoy your videos a lot! I often race same slot as you, so have seen you a few times - weird seeing myself on screen. Last week was crazy hard pace on climb.
Would you be able to turn down the sound effects in zwift? The ride on pinging noise and sound from the "wind" is a little loud and quite annoying.

Hey that looks like a tough one 😊 need to try this. Gotta push my body to the limits or over the limits! I started cycling about 3 months ago and i love it. Zwift is perfect. I think we got the same speed, i do little more watts, but i got a higher weight 😂

To be able to maintain the front group of this one you need 5 - 6 w/kg most of the climb which I still think it's insane for B race. Prime time race is even worse as more people keep pushing the pace and you have no recovery even on the flat and downhill with that speed.
Looking forward to the new system too. the new "B" should include more of sandbag B and A-minus and let the A+ guys do their own race.

@@benjapolcycling yea, looking forward to it. I had a real bad moment on the Itza climb but there's no chance I would keep that pace for 12 minutes anyway.

@@DamonVanDyken depending on the course. On a flat course, very little disadvantage. On a course with a lot of climbing, quite a bit (assuming you'd hold the same power as me).
