Cesar Flores If that was a drag race, it doesn't matter if you he caught up eventually. They would have already been at the end of the strip, and the vette would have lost. End of discussion.
That is just absolutely hilarious. On the first run he literally obliterated that Vette... But I think he let out and jabbed on the brakes to keep the vette from wasting his ass on the big end. Props though, that little thing is awesome on the launch.
When that piece of shit honda pulled up to the line I started crying cause i was laughing that hard and then it took off.... I had no words to explain that
this little wagon is the ultimate sleeper i give major props for him hangin with that vette.. so all u honda haters out there dont hate just remember theres no replacement for displacement..
People have varying definitions but it is typically: Stage 1 tune, stage 2 turboback/intake, stage 3 turbo upgrade + possible built or swapped block with each higher stage including upgrades from the previous.
in europe its called honda shuttle and its awsome killing some gangsta ricers whit a family car and looking at their faces when you get their money ... its priceles (sorry for bad english blame my theachers)
That is how you mod a Honda. Keep sparkly stickers off, don't cut the springs, don't put wings on it that used to be park benches. That is how you do it right there. This is likely the best damn sleeper out there. It looks like a winter beater, not an easy 13 second beast.
@bmxmyant1drug Exactly - the H2B boys are runing mid to low 12s with bolt-ons and the drop in cam guys are running 11s...230whp is gonna move a hatch on slicks lol...built motors (350whp) running low 10s at street weight!!! Gotta love it
First off, this civic isn't really AWD. The power was only sent to the rear wheels when the front wheels would slip, so it's really part time. And second, all you GM fan boys need to understand you can build a civic like this for far less money than it costs to even buy a vette, let alone upgrade it. Also, a Vette motor won't last you nearly as long as most 4 cylinder Honda motors. Yeah a Vette is fast from the factory, but once mommy and daddy make you take over the car payments for one and you've gotta either upgrade or fix something (trust me, you will), you'll realize how much money you could be saving by driving an import. And I love domestic cars, so that's saying something.
Not necessarily. Nobody really seems to provide a definite answer that everyone can agree on when talking about this civic's "awd" and I definitely don't feel like even getting into that lol
Honestly man. I wouldn't buy an ugly civic like this. Mommy and daddy seriously a C5 only goes for about 15k. Insurance isn't even expensive on them either. And building a vette hard either lol. There's so much aftermarket support for LS1. Who gives a fuck about how Honda makes reliable 4 cylinders. Build power on it. It'll blow up like any other motor. I don't hate Hondas but don't bash vettes. "Trust me"
so what about the money it costs they look way better and its chevy, chevy as far as i know is very reliable plus u gotta say that the vette is much more hevier than any honda honda may be less expensive but believe me when i say this when you are so into ."saving money" with a honda it comes out alot more expensive than u would thnk it would trust me i hav alot of friends with hondas and there always having a problem and my friends dont deny it i mean im not hating i like how hondas are similar to a prius they save gas but in the end id pick a vette no matter what the pay is
some civics arnt really that reliable but some are, corvette last a long time and are fast and easy to work on. it's all about the driver really. it dosent matter and yes I know the vett is faster and cost more and is cooler and chicks dig it. and yes I am a gm/ford fan guy
It's true that without the air moving across the IC the turbo isn't as efficient, but a turbo pumping hot air is still better than vacuum, so you're still making power. Is it as ideal as spraying CO2 or N2O on the IC? No, but spooling it before hand removes lag and launches harder, and yes, you want that, especially if you have the traction to handle it. 2 steps build boost, they're not just for launch control, not as much as anti-lag but still something.
I like a lot of the "so ugly they're cool" 80s cars but the proportions of those old wagons are just horrible to me. I think your description of that new one is dead on. It's a mini minivan.
Well said man! I love all cars, from civics to you name it. The issue was that every kid has one now, and it gets kinda annoying but i still love civics.
If I was a random vette driver and lost a race to a sleeper like this one I think my reaction would be, "Yep, it's faster. But even so, I still have the cooler car."
fair enough but still i doubt it's stock, with a car that old i can only assume the owner loves it as it's not something you see very often and would've probably invested money in to the motor. i can appreciate any car and to each their own i guess
impressed with the Civic.... unfortunately I wouldn't doubt the Vette's engine will last longer because it has the that came with the car that its supposed to run on. I wouldn't doubt that eventually the power the civic has would wear out the motor quicker. I could be wrong. I never tuned out a car before
Front wheel drive was definitely not a performance or safety innovation. It reduced costs, weight, and assembly time. Drive-off traction is improved due to weight above the front wheels. The powertrain is virtually one complete unit and the car can be installed more easily on the line. It improves space in the vehicle because most (not all) FWD powerplants are installed in a transverse orientation and have no driveshaft or rear differential.
@ZX2Fast JDM style is what you describe. I thought the ricer wings and bodykits where all gone from the imports at least. all up to where you live I guess. I agree the clean look is definitly better
That just made my fucking day. sorry domestic guys. dont get me wrong there are some badass american cars out there...SRT8 jeep, CTS-V, Hennessey Venom GT. Lots of good cars that are 100% designed engineered and built for performance, but this little 1.5l passenger wagon held off that corvette w the corvettes years of "racing heritage" haha fucking awesome. n even if its swapped its no more than a 2.2. thats still awesome.
You're aware the only reason the civic launched how it did is because of awd, right? You can hear the vette had dog shit tires. Put these cars around a track and see what happens. The civic will end up upside down on the moon.
expo12345 Lol, what? The GTR is $120,000, a Vette is $60,000. The weak link on a stock C6 is the tires, fix those and they're very fast around a track. I'd be comfortable saying a C7 would eat a 2014 GTR around most tracks, just because the GTR needs a good driver to be driven quickly due to how heavy it is, and the way it performs through corners.
HUUUUGE EEEF EMMM EYYEE SEEEEEEEE BROO. Love your technical diagnosis from a chair, watching a video that was filmed from another moving car. Perhaps instead of it just being an intercooler, the corvette got a better launch haha. Also just saying running 9.5:1 compression compared to 8 is not equal to 6 pounds of boost lol
by stock he means no motor build work. he just threw a turbo on it at stock compression and ran 9psi, which in a purpose built turbo engine is more like 15psi because of higher compression of an n/a engine.
all im saying is he raced it at fontanaspeedway in cali when he first did da swap and did 13.3 with bolt ons tuned on crome... a year after he did a head build wid BC4 cams tune again on crome making around 220 whp took it back to the track with same slicks and hit 13.5... explain that?? same car driver track...
It's not that incorrect calling it AWD. It's front drive biased and doesn't have a transfer case to engage in a lower 4 wheel gear. It only disengages the rear wheels under braking. Other than that it's relatively similar to an AWD system. So don't try to educate someone by contradicting their education with something rather synonymous.
Right. You must definitely be right. However, I will only admit you are right if you can provide solid documentation of a multi-impeller turbo as used in a car. Until then, no such luck. Obvious troll is obvious.
Please don't exaggerate, you're making us tuners look bad. Built pro street muscle cars can be easily found for less than $20k, tubbed tires, full rollcage, racing seats, transmission, and they're not beaters. Besides, 500+ on a Honda usually means only after spool and the torque is still lacking.
It can also be more expensive to buy a fast American muscle car. You could build a Honda to 500+ hp with 20 grand. But a muscle car with the same power can cost upwards of 50 grand.
air ratio, and to allow greater efficiency, aka more power. In order for a centrifugal pump to have multiple stages, it requires more aid to compresse the air. The only way this can be achieved is by adding another impeller, to double the work load. Learn MATH, MECHANICS AND ABOUT PUMPS. A supercharger in a car is also just a screw crompressor, another form of pump.
I know there are 4wd on utes (I know australian for half-car/half-truck and truck) hence the word 4x4. 4WD cars exist too, I just happen to own one my friend. However I should have include trucks, utes, SUV and whatever on my previous comment just to make some people happy.
you do realize an integra type r is one of the best handling front wheel drive cars ever made, please drive one. It has neutral steering takes corner like a devil with little to no understeer. The Integra type r is best suited for a very tight technical track with a ton of turns and maybe one straight. On a course like that the integra can probably beat a zr1. It's apples and oranges really. and also do realize you are comparing a fwd integra to 120,000 super cars.... right
That Honda wagon was ballin
It deserves a k20!
+The AE86 of Mt. Akina the more I read about turbo sohc honda builds the less I want a kseries.
+AE86 of Mt. Akina no it needs a k24
This video is so funny. 88 civic wagon stock d16 motor at only 8 psi shitting on a vette. Lol
+johnny O. I find it awesome! :) Bet it would shit on a Mustang too! :D
+terceldude most likely it would since corvettes are more aggressive than mustangs.
johnny O. Nice! ;)

Sees Corvette: Bro, wanna race! *acts bad@ss* Sure! * thinks "what a pos" * 3 2 1 GO! WTF CIVICC????
@@Noercars more like Civ-thicc....lol
Sleeper status: God
stocl sohc with a turbo at 9psi probably around 200-225 horsepower.. VS a corvette with probably double that and the honda whoops on it. i love it
yeah buts all about how you shift gears on the start baby
False, its a 99 idiot. It has the ls1 in it pushing 340-50 hp and no the vette smoked it lol
Cesar Flores If that was a drag race, it doesn't matter if you he caught up eventually. They would have already been at the end of the strip, and the vette would have lost. End of discussion.
Uhh no.
That is just absolutely hilarious. On the first run he literally obliterated that Vette...

When that piece of shit honda pulled up to the line I started crying cause i was laughing that hard and then it took off.... I had no words to explain that
only cuz its awd but don't worry the vette had no problem catching up
dramabeatz33 Even though it lost the first race? logic
expo12345 only because its heavily modded so im sure he had fun putting 10 grand in the motor
dramabeatz33 I didn't know it cost 10g's to turbo your car : /
theres no way its only turboed or in that case everyone would have a turbo
That car would be a killer at a Rally Cross event.
+ogggooo you could say that.
this little wagon is the ultimate sleeper i give major props for him hangin with that vette.. so all u honda haters out there dont hate just remember theres no replacement for displacement..
that turbo set up cost 600 bucks on ebay
lol ebay turbo.... have fun with your car detonating after 50mi.....maybe 100mi tops
Bruh who gives a fuck if it’s was a grenade. Worth it if it blew up after a few passes for 600 bucks if you ask me.
@kushiikiidlx Precision 3431E
LOL, I've seen a lot of fast Honda's but this one takes the cake! hahaha

that shit need suspension sooo bad but that AWD though !
Its 4wd big difference...
gotta admit.. that little civic wouldnt give up without a fight.. good stuff...
fast as hell but holy fuck I would refuse to be seen driving that ugly as thing.
I would rather have that than a faster corvette!, Imagine beating people with big V8's with that!
ParadiseNMH Fr
Still love this video. ANYTHING can be made to go fast/quick.
I want a car like that just to piss off people
1988 civic wagon - $500
EBay turbo kit - $600
Pissing off corvette owners - priceless
awesome sleeper
Thats a pretty badass old skool wagon, 4real. Keep em comin, 1320.
rekt by a wagon
@flamingaxe791 You're right, everything I put in the video text was a lie
Wow....... that was awesome for a mini van / mini car / station wagon ??? . Lol

is that charlie
thats why im here but naw dude
Josue Aguilar I was think that was the 303 repping

Those Civic wagons are still among the ugliest vehicles ever.
Those old ones I must agree. I do not like them either. The new one though, ( both Civic and Accord ) are SEXY AS HELL.
bonamin Honda I disagree, but to each their own.
bonamin Honda they're is no newer civic wagons. I also disagree. Civic wagons are sexy as fuck! IMO of course.

That Civic looks like a lot of fun
Well said man! I love all cars, from civics to you name it. The issue was that every kid has one now, and it gets kinda annoying but i still love civics.
AHAh yess! I love that style civic. Probably wouldn't put a turbo on it but it makes the ultimate sleeper...and I love sleepers
to be exact. A 4cylinder SINGLE CAM, not dual cam, so a smaller of the 4 cylinder engines against a V8 Vette with intake and exaust.
That "Civic Wagon" is one quality sleeper!
@asdfgoogle Go pro with suction mount, same deal on the wagon
Civic Wagons are awesome and rare these days
Dude where's my car?
Oh i lost it in a drag race against an old Civic Wagon.
You did what?
How?
If I was a random vette driver and lost a race to a sleeper like this one I think my reaction would be, "Yep, it's faster. But even so, I still have the cooler car."
I think thats the first sleeper Civic i've ever seen!
fair enough but still i doubt it's stock, with a car that old i can only assume the owner loves it as it's not something you see very often and would've probably invested money in to the motor. i can appreciate any car and to each their own i guess
@EVILWS666 hd hero
And in an awd if you dont slip the cluch and just dump it you can blow a diff, trans or clutch. Launching an awd car with power takes alittle finess.
haha! Don't worry about it man, the only reason I know is I've driven behind one or two before. They're pretty darn rare actually!
yeah they had those available in AWD , I got the FWD but if I see the AWD transmission on craiglist I'll upgrade it.
A sleeper is a car that is stock looking cosmetically, but very heavily modified mechanically.
Now THAT is a sleeper. Until the beast revs up that is..
the corvette guy is cool by keep having fun with the civic. someone else wouldn't even race it. LOL!!!
Me - "See honey, $500 cars are awesome too!" So stop making that "eww" face when I want beaters.
"the backfiring sound" was his launch control...and it definitely wasn't at his redline.
It's always hilarious when a civic wagon launches like that on a vette..lmfao
depends though. from a dig awd almost always wins. but from a roll they dont do well most time. also driver mod is most important.
impressed with the Civic.... unfortunately I wouldn't doubt the Vette's engine will last longer because it has the that came with the car that its supposed to run on. I wouldn't doubt that eventually the power the civic has would wear out the motor quicker. I could be wrong. I never tuned out a car before

that first launch was pretty good...doesn't look like that vette is trying to launch at all tho lol
@ZX2Fast JDM style is what you describe. I thought the ricer wings and bodykits where all gone from the imports at least. all up to where you live I guess. I agree the clean look is definitly better
You can tell the guy in the corvette wasn't trying.
That just made my fucking day. sorry domestic guys. dont get me wrong there are some badass american cars out there...SRT8 jeep, CTS-V, Hennessey Venom GT. Skylar Garrett The corvette butthurt has begun.
Skylar Garrett Yeah but put the corvette around a track with something in its price range, say a GTR and then see how well it does
***** Not on a track it wont, not with its rear end kicking out on every corner...
expo12345 Lol, what? The GTR is $120,000, a Vette is $60,000. The weak link on a stock C6 is the tires, fix those and they're very fast around a track. sweet civic. if you don't think awd civics exist, look for them labeled RT4WD or "real time 4wd". I used to have one in my back yard
ya, all he needs is some bottom end work, perhaps some head work to raise rpm and 10 more psi. see that vette try n keep up.
The turbo should have two impellers, fan blades, forcing more compressed air through the motor.
Now THAT is a sleeper!
After the wheel spin, we find out who has more horsepower, quite obviously.
I think they're just running the civic harder than the corvette because the civic is garbage.
by stock he means no motor build work. he just threw a turbo on it at stock compression and ran 9psi, which in a purpose built turbo engine is more like 15psi because of higher compression of an n/a engine.
Actually that Wagon wouldn't be sketchy, ef civics have good chassis and this ones all wheel drive.
i owned Nissian Leaf with giant spoiler and 19 inch rim on it. it also have fake turbo sound whistler on the exhaust pipe.
i've always been a b series kind of guy but i'm looking at dipping into k series in the near future
Is that possibly Charlie’s Wago from Boostedboiz?
Honda should've continued to make Civics AWD!
i love the 2 step!!
all im saying is he raced it at fontanaspeedway in cali when he first did da swap and did 13.3 with bolt ons tuned on crome... a year after he did a head build wid BC4 cams tune again on crome making around 220 whp took it back to the track with same slicks and hit 13.5... explain that?? same car driver track...
Respectable!
even though that wagon has awd it still chirped 3rd gear, so sick...
i agree with mattsponiacta, great sleeper. looks like allot of fun
lol
Time to come out with an all wheel drive vette!
cant be a k20 or b18, they are twin cam (dohc) , prob from the d series most likely a d16
Right. You must definitely be right.
However, I will only admit you are right if you can provide solid documentation of a multi-impeller turbo as used in a car. Until then, no such luck.
Obvious troll is obvious.
@Servicemember80 low 14's high 13's maybe, not 12's. That vette he's racing runs 13's and its passing him before it would be a quarter mile
Please don't exaggerate, you're making us tuners look bad. Built pro street muscle cars can be easily found for less than $20k, tubbed tires, full rollcage, racing seats, transmission, and they're not beaters. Besides, 500+ on a Honda usually means only after spool and the torque is still lacking.
i'd do sleeper.. but it still can't look like something my grandmother brought home when she was buying cars drunk
It can also be more expensive to buy a fast American muscle car. You could build a Honda to 500+ hp with 20 grand. But a muscle car with the same power can cost upwards of 50 grand.
Yo omg we have one but its fwd.
WOAH!.. I can't believe my grandma can drive that fast...
mucscles and tuners FTW TOGETHER
