    My local dealer originally addressed this recall item 2-3 years ago...and it eventually failed recently.
    Thank you for showing us/me on this quick/inexpensive fix.

    Recently took my 2017 Explorer Sport to my local dealership, Sheehy Ford Lincoln of Richmond, here in Richmond VA and they just put silicone adhesive under it and popped it back on. They didn't do this and its still loose. Now I have pry marks on it too. Thanks for the part number for the clips and the info. I'll just take care of this myself at home. Much appreciated sir!

    I’m a little ticked off at my dealership. There was a recall but they told me that they replaced the luggage racks (they pretty much popped up after a year and I bought it brand new). Anyway, whether or not they replaced them is immaterial (I suspect they didn’t) because you’ve provided this wonderfully insightful video. I’ve already have the plugs. I’m going to do it tomorrow. Thanks!

      Ford will pay for it. They did on our 2016 Explorer

    Thank you for great video. Was done the same way on my 2017 Explorer today. I would like to see your video of the rear toe link replacement, before I go to the dealership))) I know parts are not available yet. But if you will be able to make a video about it, would be great. Thank you man!

    Nice video, but one major thing. I don't know what size holes those are, but they are most certainly not 15/16 of an inch. 15/16 would be almost a full inch in diameter and the bottom edge of the hole would be very close to the bottom of the rail.

      The correct drill bit size is 15/64

    I don’t want to go against a Ford tech….but …just to clarify (just finished doing this on my ‘17 Explorer) the 5/16th bit (or 15/16th as he keeps saying…lol) is too big for the tree clips. Use a 1/4 bit and save yourself some headache. Also, when you are drilling, make sure you punch through the rail cover and the support behind the cover. So basically, you will be punching through 2 layers of plastic. I don’t feel like this was adequately explained in this video.

      You feel?! That's funny

      The Christmas tree clips we are provided are massive and a 1/4 will never work

    • @bar01tone
      @bar01tone ปีที่แล้ว

      Well…1/4” just worked perfect for me…so I wouldn’t say never-but again, you’re the “tech”.
      The massive clips you were using we’re prob 15/16”, right?? 🤣

    Where the 4 pins the actual Ford recall? I have had my Explorer in for the recall and they did not do these pins.

    • @FordBossMe
      @FordBossMe  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes this was the final recall and then they changed it again so I don't know what the newest one is

    Thanks for wrong drill bit size man. Come on. Now I have 4 hole to big. I looked up the service bulletin myself. The correct drill bit size is 15/64. 😮

    Funny how my dealership tried to charge me 327.00 to replace all the clips I emailed ford and they told the dealership to fix it for free and then a 1yr later the recall came out I rolled into the dealership like nice try now let’s fix it the right way.

    5/16" drill bit sorry **** not 15/16

    The reason I have to resort to this is because people ask me stupid things in the comments section and say stupid things and when I respond the same way that they're asking things they can't take it and then they cry about it so I can no longer answer questions in the comments section it has to be only through email
    Thank You For Understanding
