Fred & Augie Duesenberg were best known for their incredibly well engineered high performance engines. They actually wanted to build only racing engines but there wasn't enough money in it. Errett Lobban Cord bought their company in the mid 20's and convinced them to make high performance high quality luxury cars which did great until the Depression. If you watch the classic movie, "It's a Wonderful Life" George Bailey's friend, Sam Wainwright invited George and Mary to drive down to Florida for a holiday in his Duesenberg Model J Phaeton. As he drives a way you here the 8 cylinder rumble. The very best Duesys were supercharged.
That museum is nice, but most of the cars are virtually on top of each other... It'd be a real hoot to have enough money to buy whatever... And being the smartass that I am, I'd pay cash for whatever was buried the deepest in the building... Wouldn't matter what it is. I'd just like watching them shuffle everything to get it out 😄
