Each machine shines in some tasks and pales in others. Backhoes are very much a compromise. My philosophy is to have one of everything (that I can afford) and use the best one for the job!
You answered a couple questions I had at the end of the video. Regarding not under estimate the mini or compact equipment. But what if you can get a case 580 k 4x4 cheaper than the compact John Deere. Would it be worth it or do need to count in for the older case possible need of repairs.
@@IndyFarmLife Thank you for responding. And you do bring up some good points. I think for me it would be more beneficial to get the backhoe than a compact tractor. Moving from one job to the next isn't that big of a deal. I live in a area that would allow to drive the backhoe to most of the places I would need to take it. And lastly I can get a way better deal on the backhoe than a compact. Only thing major wrong right now with it other than setting a few months is it needs a front break cylinder. Thanks agin for the valued info.
I have to cut in a dirt road for my 5 acres of land, I'm new to this. I have a Case 580D and a 3.2T Excavator. I'm wondering should I contract or rent a dozer if it will save significant time instead of using my backhoe. My land has mostly bushes on it.
Enjoying your videos man. I’m getting a 4044m tomorrow with a box blade. I have a 13 acre lot and am super excited to have this tool to do a bunch of work out there with it. Your videos give me confidence that this tractor was a good decision haha
I have the JD 4044M with box blade and was considering picking up the backhoe attachment vs the Case 580 K since a clean used Case is the same price as the backhoe attachment. I would love to see a digging trenching shoot out between the two!
Very nice comparison, and great points hit. Each machine has its purpose
Thank you! Yea, each certainly has its place.

Define 'afford' for me please. I think my wife and I have different definitions haha. I'll take all the equipment I can get! You are right though!

When you break something on industrial Equipment, it's going to cost you far more than a little mini or compact. Just remember, EVERYTHING BREAKS.
Never forget the power of a larger skid steer.
Great comparison video

@@IndyFarmLife60 feet I have the Case 580 D backhoe that has a loader bucket. My excuvator does have a blade.

Good times out on the farm

Case 580K would probably win that
Hands down it would! 580k all day. It's a monster compared to a tractor backhoe attachment
MY BOOK ONLY SPEAKS OF THE BULLDOZER
Hey, all of them are tractors!
