  • Skype Chat with Wizako Alumnus Arun Ganesh, graduate of Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, Canada
    The video focuses on answering many common questions that Indian students who are applying to Canadian B schools have. Thanks to a few of you, we could put together a set of most common questions and have those answered by Arun Ganesh.
    You will get answers to these questions in this video
    1. What are the top business schools in Canada, from which one can pursue an MBA? Are there any regional considerations within Canada that one should keep in mind while selecting schools. For example, in the US tech MBAs will prefer West Coast / Seattle.
    2. What is the average GMAT score for an Indian, male, engineer, IT services with 3+ years of experience?
    3. Do Canadian B schools offer scholarship for pursuing an MBA? If so, do they offer full tuition waiver?
    4. How good are the post MBA job prospects? What sectors recruit most international MBAs?
    5. Is it easy to shift function after an MBA?
    6. How long does it take to get Permanent Residence in Canada?
    7. Is it possible and if so, is it easy to get a job in the USA with Canadian MBA?
    8. What is your (Arun Ganesh) experience at Rotman?

    Thats a really nice video Baskar ,but i'd say anything upwards of "730" like the guy mentioned above one should ideally try for b-schools in US or Europe which have much better brand value all across.Canadian b-schools have good programs but only relevant to Canadian markets (which is limited to Toronto/Vancouver/Montreal at best), unless your only aim is Canadian PR for which you may consider cheaper colleges/courses or apply through Express entry

      Very few countries provide work permit like canada does and it doesn't make sense to go back to India after spending a hefty amount. Plus schools in the US and Europe are extremely expensive and a 730 in canada will help you stand out contrary to Europe and the US where 730 isn't a big deal

    ... 🤣🤣🤣🤣 .. Think wisely while studying in canada..social worker, nurses, physiotherapist, welder, carpenter, automative technician are paid well ...Before investing 110000 cad in MBA, note down cost benefit analysis ....Once u get PR , Same MBA can be done at half the rate as you will be treated as domestic students ..

    I would say Canadian MBAs are overpriced. The fees and the GMAT requirements are the same as their US counterparts. And employment reports are mediocre compared to the US. Their main USP is easy immigration laws.

      Hello Ms Mishra
      A good GMAT score and well written essays not only pave the way for an admission but also open doors for tuition waivers / financial assistance. If you are yet to take the GMAT, please focus on getting a 700+ score. Notwithstanding that, loans are available to pursue one's education both through Indian Financial Institutions such as Credila of HDFC and from banks in Canada.

    • @Wizako
      @Wizako  5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Hello Salil
      Agreed - 730+ is a good score for ISB and the PGPX programs of the IIMs. However, for those who are looking to relocate out of India and consider US risky (because of H1 lottery and immigration issues) or Europe's economies not on sound footing, the options basically narrow down to Canada, Australia, and Singapore. In that context, given that the Indian applicant pool is one of the most competitive, a 730 might be a key differentiator.
      Cheers.

    @00:56 you say about the requirements for a typical IT Male from India.
    Should the viewers of this particular video assume that, this video is only for the typical IT Male from India or Should they assume that, no other section excluding the typical IT Male is eligible for an MBA in Canada or outside somewhere.
    Please reply. Thank you

    • @Wizako
      @Wizako  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello @Aditya Prasad Raiguru
      The typical Indian IT male is the most common applicant to B schools from India. That is why the video took that case. In fact, if you are from a different background - say a chartered accountant, you are likely to benefit from bringing diversity to class. So, GMAT requirement is likely to be 10 to 20 points lesser for people from other background.
      All top B schools get applications from applicants from all backgrounds - not just Indian IT male. And they admit quite a few students outside of the mentioned profile - so eligibility of other profiles is never a question.
      Cheers
