Been on a marathon of PSP repairs. Just got a white 1000 unit (1003 to be exactly) that's in real need of some TLC. Hopefully it'll "shine bright like a diamond" by the time I'm done restoring it.
A friend gave me their silver 3000 about 6 years ago and it's beaten to hell! I ordered a new white shell and a new analog stick and I plan on giving this psp a new lease on life! I really soaked in a bit of info from this video and will likely be referencing it!

@@ermonski this is true for the flexible plastic you find on something like an Otterbox case. However, over time and if in direct sunlight I am prettt sure it could yellow.
Hello sir, nice video!! My PSP 1000 screen get dark after I changed the shell.>< I can only see slightly view by squint under strong light...And I tried the other screen, the result was the same. I press the square(light adjust) for 2 secs, I can see the slight backlight disappear to black. What could be the problem? Thanks a lot!!
Try using the charger without the battery and then turn on the PSP. If it still fails, your psp may be bricked. Use pandora battery and magic memorystick to unbrick ur psp
Can the umd door cover be put back in place it was dropped my psp and knocked the door off of the left hinge. So is there an easy to re-attach the door or complete teardown?
How do i push it back in without braking the nub off ? Thanks for commenting sir but can you go into more detail(if you want) cause i'm afraid of braking the nub off and making worse. P.s. i'm broke as fuck right now so can't pay some one to it fixit.
I want a good psp so bad but every single one I find is beat up I have a street 1004 model but you cant refurbish it cause no one makes parts for them :/
If you live in Southeast Asia there are shops everywhere that sell, refurbish, and hack PSPs! Here in our country usually the PSPs sold are already hacked with games. Usually I just buy a new battery, have it re-shelled and we're good to go.
I’m having a problem getting my one to turn on again. Battery seems to charge but it doesn’t turn on. Does anyone here know whether this is a battery issue or internal
The causes of your problem are either the following : 1. Your right flex ribbon component is faulty and the power switch most likely burned the flex ribbon. Replace it. 2. Your power switch board is broken. Replace it with a new one. I'm having problems like these myself. You aren't alone.
My set of aftermarket shell for my 1000 kicked my butt it's so poorly made I'm sick of all the jagged edges and excess plastic And the tiny wifi switch broke off fml now I have to desolder smd switch

How hard did you find the install. As I’m just about to do it myself and watched your video multiple times to get as many info as possible.
I replaced the faceplate on my 1001 and I’m super nervous about doing anything beyond that but yours looks sooo good.
You got lucky with your aftermarket shell, my red one wouldn't fit.

How did you remove the motherboard? Did you just pull the yellow ribbon? Sorry im having a doubt just being cautious.

I recently dug up my sisters, the screws are badly rusted in and I cant get the case to open, any solutions to this?
Maybe spray some wd 40 in the screwholes to derust and lubricate the screws.
