Brings back memories of my childhood, when I was nine my mum asked us what we wanted for x mas dinner, me and my brother and 2 sisters hated turkey and we wanted curries so she pre ordered x mas eve a load of different ones from our local takeaway in Huddersfield and reheated X mas day, this has always been my favourite curry since. Thanks for sharing.
Ramadan Mubarak to you and yours. I'm so glad that you have moved and can look after your Mother in these difficult times. God has put you where you needed to be, and he will keep you all safe and healthy, Mashallah.
The people disliking this video obviously have no idea about food. Latif has to be one of the best TH-cam chefs you will find when it comes to Asian food. I cooked a chicken biryani at 04:00 am one-day last week and yammed the lot when I woke up later that day. That's how good his recipes are :)
I have some frozen methi I was lucky enough to find at a supermarket. I also have some Kasoori Methi, our local Indian restaurant kindly gave me. I went to ask them where could I buy it, and they gave me some in a container from their stocks, when I was wanting to try a recipe. I also have fenugreek seeds, but I need to get some Panch Phoron - we have a local Indian grocer so I will try there for that. Love your recipes, and we really like being able to see your stove clock as it gives us a good idea of time to do each step. Thank you! Wish we could smell your amazing dishes.
Hello, I looked up Panch Phoron. It’s 5 seeds: •Saabit Methi Dana •Kalonji • Saunf • Saabit Sarson • Zeera ( • Whole Fenugreek Seeds • Nigella or Black Seeds • Whole Mustard Seeds • Whole Cumin Seeds ) And I have all of them during this lockdown! Shall be making this recipe of your’s tomorrow with dry Qasuri Methi. Thanks 🙏🏻
Luckily for me there is a store close to were I live and it sells fresh methi. I have made this twice now it is fabulous. Thank you so much for sharing.
Love your channel. Been cooking curries from scratch for over 12 years, like to try new things out and always searching for inspiration. Your channel is a wealth of information and for that, I thank you!!!!!!
I've been trying to get dried methi leaves for ages now! Finally should be getting delivery today and I'll certainly be making this dish tonight! Good timing!
Two videos in a day? You are spoiling us Latif! I made roast chicken with a dried methi & garlic rub the other day. The kitchen smelled so nice. The dogs were jumping up and down.
wow, just finished eating this with your mushroom pilau rice.couldn't get fresh methi but I will definetly be sourcing it as soon as I can, absolutely delicious thank you my friend.say a big thanks and hello to your mum.
Looks super tasty, look forward to making this at home, got to get some of that fresh kasoori methi, such a unique and flavoursome ingredient. Thanks for sharing this recipe 👍 keep up the awesome work - god bless 👍🏻
I'm loving these home cooking sessions. Your restaurant videos are fantastic, but I find these much more relatable because you are cooking in an environment that I cook in too. And I love it that you are doing it with your mum- everyone knows mum's cooking is the best! I have a question regarding the Tez Pata- can I replace these with normal bay leaves, or even curry leaves? I live in Holland and there are no Asian supermarkets where I live. I know there are some in the larger cities but these are not reachable at the moment due to all the restrictions. Thank you for taking the time to put out these videos, I'm sure I'm not the only one to really appreciate them. When all this is over and I can travel back home to England again, I'm going to put the effort in to come to your restaurant in person.
What I love about your channel is the mix of restaurant style, & home style cuisine styles that you do! I love your channel! Keep up the great work Latif !!
Hi. The dish looks amazing! It's lovely to see you keeping true to your mum's way of cooking. As a mother myself it makes me feel as proud as she would. Say hi to her for me. I would really love to see the recipe your mum was talking about.
Hi just wanted to say thank you very much for your videos. I came across them last week and have since made a bunch of your recipes. The onion bhajis were awesome. I don’t think it will be long before you have a tv programme. I’d love to see a video showing how to make shish kebab and when this is over I’ll be making a trip to your restaurant. Cheers, dan
Latif and others. As a jock and lover of any methi based dishes and having moved to an area where not so much access to fresh methi (rural Scotland) I grew my own last year and will do so again. It is just as easy to grow as parsley or watercress and needs no care. I got seeds from Chiltern Seeds and as an experiment tried some from an old spice jar, they grew as well. I initially started them off as seedlings and replanted but found they grew long stems, better just to scatter them into a pot/window box style container and they just come up great.
Thanks for sharing it chef, I'm in love with authentic Indian / Bengali dishes. Will definitely make this dish tomorrow if I'm able to find fresh methi. Greetings from Belfast bro!
Another great video Latif I actually made this with veg chicken for my family they loved it thank you. Ramadan Kareem to you and your family looking forward to the Dali bora recipe ideally during fasting jzk brother
Hi Latif, happy Ramadan to you and your mum. Would you mind doing a video showing the pans and utensils you use, describing what they are and why we should use it.
Hi Latif. This was so good when I made it yesterday that I am making it again tonight, can't get enough of it. Very rural here in SW Scotland so no fresh or dried methi available. Substituted tinned spinach which worked just fine and tasted wonderful.
thank you ..your dish looks amazing..lovely to hear you talking to your mum in your own language..i have just shared it with my best friend who introduced me to curry in my 20's..he lives in muswell hill and we used to get awesome curry from a place called karana farai..love and blessings from scotland.x
i like to think i am a Methi Gosht connoisseur and have tried the dish from many BIR's. I wanted to try to make the chicken Methi dish to your mums recipe and i must say it came close to my local indian takeaways dish which is superb. If i wanted to make this but with lamb i wonder if it would be as nice?. Other recipes for Methi Gosht seem to always use a pressure cooker of which i do not possess. I will certainly be making this chicken methi again though. My wife and son said it was my best curry ive made from scratch yet. Thanks for the video. Next one i want to try is your staff curry. looks delish!😊
I have been watching your videos for a while now but have never been able to visit the restaurant because I lived in Ireland. I moved to Manchester this year though so I was very excited to make the trip down for a meal on my birthday (28th April) But now I can't because of this lockdown - I'm absolutely gutted :( I hope I'll be able to get down when this is all over! Keep it coming, man! :)
Hi Latif! Ive been following and making your curries for some time but can you say in your videos how many people you would expect the ingredients to serve so I can multiply up or down according to how many I'm feeding so I get the taste right? Thanks v much and keep up the good work!👍
Looks anazing. I always use kasuri methi in my curries but can't get it at the moment. Love the smell of it. Never seen fresh methi before and I'll definitely try it if I see it.
Yum going to try it soon but sure it is just perfect. I make your Lamb Bhuna often and it’s my favourite. Just managed to find dried methi today as an Asian store was opened for a few hours during the level 3 lockdown here in NZ.
drinking game: take a shot every time he says methi btw I like that the time on the stove can be seen cuz it allows me to know what the dish needs to look like in regular intervals which, as an amateur, gives me major guidance. thanks!
My favourite Indian dish to order has always been methi gosht, but never found a good recipe. Even though this dish is made with chicken rather than lamb I'm still going to give it a bash, looks fabulous.
Looks amazing. This has become a new hobby since lock down. Enjoying your amazing food recipes. Looking to buy some aluminium pans like the one used here. Any suggestions.
Graham Charlton Thanks Graham. Managed to find them on Amazon / Ebay. Certainly changes the cooking experience. Now serving piping hot well cooked food.
Can you recommend a pan for cooking curries at home? I’ve just ordered a tawa to make the nann you showed, can’t wait! I’d love to get a pan I can dedicate to curry cooking too!
Looks amazing with the fresh Methi. Could you substitute with some spinach because I can only get dry down in Plymouth! Would you mix dry methi and spinach together? Cheers.

Warning when making any of his dishes. They are all incredibly tasty. Once you start making these you will NOT stop.

My customers at the restaurant are becoming too smart now that you’ve got this channel lol
What a dish, the fresh methi must give a very nice aroma!
One of your best video, you should do a video with your Mom.
Cannot wait to make this, getting the methi is going to be the challenge.
