- Darrell Brooks, after being removed from the courtroom, continued to argue with the judge from an adjacent courtroom. Judge Jennifer Dorow used their exchange as evidence that Brooks' claims that he cannot hear is completely false and is an attempt to delay the proceedings.

I suspect he also felt the need to make a big deal of showing that it was a babble - hoping that might influence the jury.
Maybe he was trying to study a part of the Bible and that's why he didn't turn the page. The judge should NOT speculate .
NO because a bible you wouldnt neccesarily turn the page for days. you might bed meditating on certain scriptures or verses. its just the judges misunderstanding.

I don't think that DB ever asked his mother to testify - phone calls would tell - but the prosecution didnt want this evidense to be shown.

In spite of his mom’s and her boyfriend’s negative influences, he was held to account for his sociopathic choices and behaviors.

That’s what broke me about this. This wasn’t a Depp/Heard or a Gwyneth Paltrow. His *_REAL_* victims & families had to endure all this shit. I’m surprised there weren’t more outbursts. They obviously have more grace & restraint than I.

Evidently, others in the life of DB have indulged his manipulative conduct and his personality disorder. One could argue that by his behavior, he qualifies for a mental evaluation and treatment for his condition. His mother asked for this approach. The criminal justice system, however, will soon enough apply its rules of conduct for a prison inmate, and do so for the rest of his natural life.

Students such as Brooks are the very reason many teachers leave the profession. Imagine having to deal with him every day and having no support from the parents. In fact, many believe you are the reason why their son or daughter doesn't learn or succeed.
I've seen it in kids as young as 1st grade.
My niece is a middle school teacher and she has a few "Darrell Brookses" in her class. They will repeatedly say they don't understand no matter how often or how many ways she explains something they will still say they don't understand and then smirk at each other. Their parents, of course, blame my niece for their kids' bad grades.

I also don't follow current court cases like this one. Brooks is quite ignorant and presumptuous to believe that he has the knowledge of the law to defend himself of what he did. I can understand people have accents/manner of speech...and at one point meant to say "oath of the court, but it sounded like "oaf of the court". That's about right...

That judge is extremely patient and also very smart. She is playing him like a fiddle now. It took her a few days to feel the situation out but I think she is highlighting his issues without having to show any bias or frustration

After a certain point, you have to trust that the record will show you gave him every opportunity to put on his case, do the right thing and let the chips fall. This judge's patience level is unmatched... almost "heroic".
He's lying about not being able to hear! This is HIS case, in which he literally said that his life is on the line! No matter which room he's in, he should be paying the utmost attention and want to know everything the judge is saying. If he is truly having trouble hearing, he should notify everyone ASAP. Instead, he pretends to read a book.
He can hear everything, I believe. When the judge talks about reading a book, he holds up The Holy Bible immediately. So, that proves he can hear her.

Judge Durow is the most patient, most even tempered and most forgiving judge that I’ve ever come across. My god, how absolutely disrespectful this lovely gentleman (not) is.
I am sure the court noticed that Books heard the Judge's comments about "him reading a book" , as she immediately raised what he was reading above him head. Proving to an appellate court, that Brooks can hear the Judge without headphones ! This is proof that Brooks has delayed the court repeatedly arguing he could not hear the Judge .
He's getting the live feed in the monitor in front of him. He saw them switch to his camera.
There are Baliffs in the room as well who are replying back and forth that verify the entire time the defendant can hear the Judge.

It’s very frustrating when the judge says things like “I’m asking you a 3rd time” yet it’s actually about the 6th or 7th time!! I imagine the jury, prosecutors, bailiffs, court reporter & gallery are about to lose their minds!!

Something I noticed that I haven't seen commented on is that when he was arrested, they asked him his name and he said his name was Brooks. Later they asked him again and he said his name was "Darrell Brooks". So why he thinks he doesn't have to answer to that name in the courtroom is beyond me.
It's a sovcit defence tactic because his name is in caps that it's wrong.. I saw another case on YT where a guy argued the same defence saying his mother birthed and gave him the name of Asher something.. and he spelt it out as capital A, lowercase s etc.. Another guy said he was talking on behalf of himself therefore saying he is not a person but a human being lol
His name is now DA' REL Brooks according to him.
They even asked him to spell his name during the first questioning when arrested and he confirmed it

His toddler tantrums must be really hard to watch and deal with inside that courtroom. It is impossible to conduct an orderly, professional trial with his antics constantly taking attention away from the business at hand. The judge is so professional and measured and always trying to protect the integrity of the trial to avoid appeal issues. Kudos to her.

Brooks himself was the best character witness in this case, and for the state instead of the defense. No one on the planet could possibly have ever made him look worse than he has done himself. So helpful of him to almost single-handedly convince the jury of what a murderous waste of space he is, lol.

This is about control. His absolute refusal to answer her questions, while forcibly asking his own over and over again, is an attempt to break down her resolve and take control of the conversation. When she doesn't allow him to do that, he becomes angry and throws tantrums. Every time it is demonstrated to him that he is not in control of the proceedings, his composure crumbles and he behaves like a spoiled child.
At the end of the video he keeps bringing up "subject matter jurisdiction", asking her to give her name, telling him her name, essentially he is telling her, "If you're not going to play the sovreign citizen game, I won't cooperate."
He reminds me of one of the kids I went to high school with who thought they were cool and clever by giving the teacher everyone liked a hard time. He is the definition of man-child. SO immature.

We have an inmate in Australia who was particularly nasty to a young lad. The other inmates look after him by saving up honey and jam and giving it to him. It is at boiling point, and thrown through the bars, but I think that's quite nice.
Maybe he didn't say anything about the car issues cause he's in a all white town and there's no way they will believe what he says. Is that possible ? Are there many black people in Waukesha ? Do they look at black people as not equal up there ?

Those who've had to be present every day and been subject to his constant accusations, demands, verbal abuse and have seen eyewitness testimony by the survivors, detectives, DAs, Court staff, Judge Dorow, even Fox Camera crew, and especially jurors are going to have PTSD when this is over! "..knowledgably comment...," I identify to the reader that I am not trained in the law and my comments should be evaluated in that light. "...seems to me..." but as a lay person I thought what I heard was great. Now, as to my thoughts on how she got the job, frankly I do not know. Is the judiciary elected or appointed in Wisconsin? I don't know. Before being a judge what was Judge Dorow's background and experience? I do not know. How long has Judge Dorow been on the bench? I do not know.

This is the biggest circus I've ever seen in my life. I'm sure judge will need intense therapy after this, as well as the jurors. I cannot even begin to imagine what the victim's families are going through. What I would do to him if I were in the same room as him..
