Joe, that was great! The tone of that Golden Era is is perfect up and down the fretboard. I started on a 2017 Deering Deluxe and want a higher end but not over the top expensive blue grass banjo when I improve. The Golden just may be the one! Thanks for making this enlightening video.
@@banjoez Yes, I`m agree. I have two of the new Goldstar, a J.D. and a wreath GF 100. They are cannons and they are not break the bank. Why to spend more ? Kind regards from Germany.

Try tightening the head to a 92 and a half, and see what happens.
Deering makes good banjos it just took them awhile to perfect their tone rings, 2006, 2010.
That was pretty
What song was that?
It’s called Pickaway
Hey Joe you still like “golden era”... It sound like it has a lot horsepower.. Is it worth the buy?
I think the Deerings are superb playing instruments and are sometimes a real bargain on the used market. The tone can be a little too ringy for some.
I think the 06 tonering is a little bit overrated, for me to sharp tonewise.
your goldstar sounded better to me.
Thanks for the comment. The Deerings are excellent banjos but may be a little “ringy” for some.
