This is a double edged sword as it can conflict with nature but also help preserve it. No other animals concern themselves with conservation. @@Juan-zi3qs the scary thing is, they don’t even NEED teeth to be ferocious predators like dinosaurs did. Said prey includes CROCODILES. We need to consider what planet can feed and have food left too for other species. Whales beaching from starvation. Part radiation killing off food supply. Fukishima going to let more contaminated water out so expect to see more sea creatures and sea plants we eat dying. We must be conscious that what we eat they do not get. Oceans can restock in Atlantic sooner but water on Pacific Ocean is heavily contaminated and will take very long time to repopulate. Plus big fish get more contamination from eating higher levels of radiation from eating multiple layers of contaminated fish. Imagine tbe billions the Pacific fed so protein more scarce as Pacific is essenti as lly dead. Need to eat more vegetables, and non GMO food. Eggs, fowl, meat, which I as many do not eat mammals. Israel will control protein ss making lab grown meat muscle than killing wearhouse raised animals. But will lack much enzymes and other nutrients. Some cultures eat huge portions of protein, esp meat I saw in restaurants when travrling in Europe, than needed. Shall we changr our habits or let people die or rid them.

What right do we humans have to subordinate animals?
I've been wondering this for as long as I've been conscious. We have debased intelligent and soulful animals, often more than us, to the point of having to rejoice because there is someone (the minority) who takes care of them. So sad.
@@nessy2000 I think the majority of people appreciate nature and animals.
It is a bit of anti-human perspective to selectively point out the worse traits without also pointing out the best.
Humans are the most complex animals on Earth and their consciousness and intelligence allows them to manipulate their environment like no other animal can.
This is a double edged sword as it can conflict with nature but also help preserve it.
No other animals concern themselves with conservation.
So it is up to humanity to understand our responsibility and take care of our environment but we must love ourselves first and foremost and ensure it is our best traits that are made manifest in this World and not the worse.

Scary bird. I am fascinated yet I'm terrified of this creature.
Her age being unknown means either they stuck to the “never ask a lady their age” or this is a dinosaur disguised as a *MODERN* bird (stop telling me that birds are dinosaurs I know already, every paleontology video says it. Why do I have to specify modern birds what other birds do you see outside?)
Well both. She's definitely a dinosaur, and if they ask she will kill them
All birds are dinosaurs
@@shadetreader I meant like it’s using a fake beak to hide it’s teeth
@@Juan-zi3qs the scary thing is, they don’t even NEED teeth to be ferocious predators like dinosaurs did. They scoop their prey into their beak, leave their mouth open just enough for the prey to desperately stick its head back out of the mouth and into the open, and then the shoebill clamps its bill shut and decapitates its prey before eating it all. Said prey includes CROCODILES. Everytime I find myself thinking that avian dinosaurs were kind of lame with their feathers and other bird like qualities, I think about shoebills and geese and other terror-bird wannabes and am instantly reminded how lucky we are that dinosaurs are so small nowadays.

I really appreciate seeing the time he took with her to communicate with her and rub her head. I watched another video where another caretaker ignored her bowing and was too busy talking to a crowd. It's evident this guy cares and I'm glad he does- this animal is perceptive and I can only imagine how lonely she must get
These types of birds actually prefer to be alone. Apparently, they are usually born together with a sibling. The bigger sibling will get rid of the smaller one before they reach adulthood.

I think she is so regal and stately. I became really aware of these stunning creatures just a few years ago and it is easily my fav. You should buy me and you some tickets to Africa and go see them in the wild. Keep me posted. ha

Futaba is BEAUTIFUL! She's so smart, and you can see it in her eyes.
She stands soo still like a statue.. concentrating on mealtime.. She is beautiful, i didnt even know these birds exist.. Thankyou for sharing..
They're ambush predators in the wild, meaning they patiently wait, still as a statue, until a meal passes by and then they strike (though she seems to move slowly, if she were to strike it would be lightning fast). They can stand perfectly still for very long periods waiting for a meal.
Once I was taking a walk, and I thought "why did someone dump a stork statue by the side of the road?" but when I looked at it directly it flew away
I'm fascinated yet scared by this bird. She looks like an animatronic.

The shoebill also known as whalehead, whale-headed stork, or shoe-billed stork, is a very large stork-like bird. It derives its name from its enormous shoe-shaped bill. It has a somewhat stork-like overall form and has previously been classified with the storks in the order Ciconiiformes.
They are from ined central Africa ined tropical places withed swampy places.
Invinoveritas
No, very very diffrenter . Stork which does geted seen as delivering all ways babys is “White Stork”. They do haved longer more pointed bills and the whale head has a very wider bill and shaped as a liked thosed small garden hand shovels for digging flowers and stuff or as a shoe. Except it that the sides edges ofed the whale head are knifed like and sharp. One ofed theirs tricks is to grabbed a fish or crawdad or snake and then open their Bill a little and when does the creature stacked its head out to leaved, then SNAP! Offed goes its head. White Storks speared their stuff a lot. And to the whale head all so will eat crocodiles as big all most as small humans children.

@@Mord12gp It's probably a combination of a lot of things really. It's a wet concrete grey that one doesn't really associate with nature. The feathers have a distinct white edge which can make it look like it's got distinct outlines like a cartoon character. The shape of it's eye ridge gives it the appearance of Disney villain eyebags and an almost cartoony anthropomorphic glare. It's bill seems disproportionate and heavy compared to the rest of its body. The crest on the back of its head looking like cartoonish messy hair. And it's five feet tall with a posture that gives the impression of someone stalking with their arms folded behind their back. Human-sized birds in general just seem to trigger something primal in humans in a similar way to snakes.
