I used to buy and sell so many of these Saab 9-5 wagons but i only had 2 Aero’s i loved these to death, i really miss Saab i was so sad when the company went under because it was truly the last car company that cared most about reliability and safety.
I got one for 500 a guy took it as a trade in went to start it and put it I n drive got a massive clunk mustv freaked him out thinking gearbox fucked Was the mount Was a very very nice one aswell
Great video cos it was true and funny. These are ridiculously good cars. Just bought an ‘03 95 Aero HOT wagon 250bhp. It’s powerful, fast and smooth. With a set of Thule Aero roof bars just fitted I am all happy and it’s a superbly useful vehicle go anywhere
A SID unit without any missing pixels! The most crucial thing with these 9-5 aeros is decent tyres. I loused up the perfect handling in mine with a couple of part worns. The other issue I had was with Saabs legendary GM parts bin rummaging. There are 3 possible different brake discs for 2000 year aero's! Still have 1 incorrect set in the shed. Btw, I once managed 130mph in my old 9000. 2.3 turbo, non aero.
Loved my Saab 9-5 aero HOT, Herschel tuned to 290bhp from new, drove so well, and always got there feeling refreshed. Mine was the 2004 facelift. No not the dame Edna front end 😂
This is a 2001 model year car. That paint code is called steel grey metallic and was not available pre 2001. Also it has smoke coloured side indicators and a shark fin antenna which was also introduced for the model year 2001. 1999 and 2000 models have orange side indicators and no shark fin. ;)
i have one, lowerd with bbs wheels 3"exhaust 846cc injectors 340L e85 pump 19t do88 ic watercooler and all the hoses 04 aero interior, manual and 370hp and a fully forged engine. powerflexbushes it is a true super aero.
I have a Saab 9-5 Estate automatic with 240 HP. Yes, it is fun and fast, but thirsty, and it wants to go faster than the speed limit, so I have to be careful to avoid speed tickets. Pity Saab does not make their own cars anymore. I think they could make a comeback with smart management. A big mistake to go to GM when they could have teamed up with Koenigsegg, and then we could have got a super, super Saab on par with the best of the best! Imagine a "multi-fuel" version of a new Saab! Maybe with one engine in each wheel....
@@joe2munro338 It was tuned from 170 HP to 240, and the suspension lowered with 2 cm. It drank as much fuel at 170 HP as with 240 HP unless I use the S button for Sport!
I love Saabs and dirt cheap to insure for me as a 17-turning 18 had one before but looking to get one again in aug ish time but the 2.3t none aero spec as they over my budget for car and insurance price
Excellent. My late father’s 1999 9-5 2.0t broke down at the weekend and I fear the timing chain tensioner is the cause so the engine is probably toast, which I’m very upset about. Should get a verdict from the garage in the next few days. If it is this is exactly the car I’ll be looking to replace it with. I want to find one around this price tag but not too sure how to go about it as I live in France. If I can find one I’ll be onto the Eurostar pronto! Great video, love a Saab! I can’t understand why they’re still so cheap but it can’t possibly stay that way for long. If you come across another one let me know !! BTW subscribed !
@@Jonjs99 engine change would have been too complex a job for me I’m afraid. In the end I found a 2004 Aero estate to replace it. Lovely condition £1150. By the time I had it remapped to 265hp and E85, driven it back to France, paid customs,VAT (bloody Brexit) and got it registered it’s cost me about £2000. Worth every penny. Love it.

Best advice I’ve heard on TH-cam.
thanks so much! taken as a compliment!
I just bought one. 300€. It needs a few things but for that money it was a steal.
Damn, that really is a steal. How is it going with workng on it?
The Last of the Real Saab's !

I watched this video earlier. Tomorrow im buying a 03' 9-5 wagon. Thanks brother!

Got a 185hp hot turbo, converted to lpg.
Cheap to run, cheap on fuel, loads of space. Whats not to like.
totally, these are ace cars. i kinda wish i'd kept it.
MY 2004 2.3T LINEAR WAGON ~ 185hp, IS PRETTY DARN QUICK. SHOCKS EVERYONE WHO HAVE RIDDEN IN IT
Lovely. Had one same colour for 10 years . Saab 9-5 vector estate. Well over 200.000 miles. Was indeed superb and comfortable to drive .😊👍

The Koenigsegg deal was after GM and got blocked by the Swedish government, it wasn't Saabs fault.

GM saved Saab in the early 90s. There would be no 9-5, and probably no Saab past 1995 without GM's support.

I have a Saab 9-5 3l v6 i really love it.. But looking for a aero now as well.. But they have mentally high miles on it in my country
What do you consider mentally high mileage?
You're not that boring 😛😂 . If I ever get rid of my 2.2TiD 95 Estate, I'd have a HOT.
Hihi. You said I should buy one. So I did 😊
I'm looking to buy one right now. Just torn.... v70t5 or 9-5 2.3T ????? Best sleeper estates going!!!
9-5.
Which one did you get. The Saab is more unique.
Had both the saabs more of a driver's car

Nice
