When you said "Kihyun's falling in love with him' when Kihyun watched Shownu sing, I just had to give you this TMI. After being asked which member's voice (apart from his own) was his favorite, Kihyun said it was Shownu's. Just thought I should let you guys know.

No mercy is both legendary and hurtful in many ways. You will encounter many legendary performance (regularly rewatching those especially HYEYA and HUG ME) and clips but you will also be heartbroken not only with the infamous changkyun entrance but also the other people that didn't make the cut, you will like/love each of the contestants. Cant wait to see the other reaction to the next episodes. Prepare tissue and fans for both tears and laughters
Ah yes, agree with you 100%! This show is going to pull on a lot of heart strings for sure. Looking forward to seeing all of the stages for sure. :)
That's actually how really is training for an entertainment company in Korea, it's brutal....and yeah they make it tame for the camera. No Mercy is hard to watch, but it's important for all Monbebe to watch to better appreciate where they came from and how they got there.

It breaks my heart to see Shownu just staring at those fans going after the GOT7 boys....and it was just mere months away before he got the recognition that he deserved. But I love the friendships that he has formed with JYP idols. Once he even had SKZ's Bangchan under his wing.
Sometimes the universe works in mysterious ways. I personally do not think that Nunu will be a good fit in GOT7. He was destined to be MX's leader. His story parallels that of EXO's Suho who trained with SHINee members and could've debuted with them if not for an injury. But he debuted as EXO-K''s leader and ultimately became EXO's absolute leader. I guess some things are meant to be 😊
Yeah! One of our resident STAYs told us that Bangchan learned how to make ramen Shownu's way and has been doing it ever since. I really do the relationships that he formed with the JYP idols but just seeing that scene while they were eating really broke my heart. UGH.
Absolutely agree! The universe does work in mysterious ways. I'm glad that it all worked out for Shownu because he is the perfect leader for MX. How funny! That thought did cross my mind about Suho and EXO. Thank you for writing that out! 🥰❤️
Shownu already have OST released before debut. Jooheon, Shownu, Wonho and Gun was already in a project group of starship and their group name was NuBoyz before this. Changkyun was also a member of another group. And the other trainees have been a training for loooong time. So I'd say they are a group of really desperate trainees for this opportunity to debut and showcase what they've gained during those times. Gun and Jooheon are besties. Mad clown knew Gun as well. Every trainees background will be shown in the next ep.

@@LaChiMoLaLaOT7 you're welcome. ☺️ I just thought that it's not unfair actually even if some judge already has an idea on what their skills are because all of the judges will judge them base on what they are going to show on the stage and later its not only the judges who has the say on who is going to debut since they have to prove themselves to the public which has 50% vote and the professional judges from every field is also 50%. 🤍
wow i don't know you guys decided to reaction this show. even though i have watched this many times i will rewatch this with you guys😍. but i don't think i can rewatch ep 8 again, because my bias is I.M and you will know how cruel that episode was 😭
I heard Ep. 8 was rough, and everyone is giving us a heads up about it. Beth is going to lose her sh!t because Changkyun is her bias too. I better tell her. lol.

I'm so glad you decided to watch this show. Yeah it may be hard to watch but I think it's a really important part of Monsta X's history.
I hope you keep in mind that the editing is very evil sometimes and we don't know what's going on behind the cameras, all we know is that Mx as a collective DESPISE this show and they made some of the trainees look worse than they were (just a thing to remember, if something seems weird there was probably much weirder stuff going on bts)
Anyways I'm excited to watch this show with you guys again and getting prepared to feel sad and angry again lol. There are also some pretty iconic moments in this show so I'm looking forward to those.
Ah, thanks for watching this show with us. We know this show is going to be so rough to watch. :( We can't avoid it forever. lol. I mean, I guess we could but like you said...definitely really important to watch Monsta X's history. Not everything is all rainbows and unicorns, you know?
I am so glad they collectively vocalized that they despise this show. I'm sure the editing was really, really off the chain on this, and that is one of the many reasons why people hate this show.
I'll be angry and sad with you. Quite honestly, we had to pair this up with their Jeju Island trip/Inssa Oppa Season 5. There was no way that we could watch this on its own and continue the rest of our schedule. lol.

Oh geez this show lol. There will be second hand embarrassment and tears but it's definitely good to understand the process and what they've been through. I got to ep 3 on my own so hopefully I'll get farther with you guys 😭

It also amused me that the 93 line was literally all together in the rankings. Kihyun was saying that both Minhyuk and Hyungwon danced as badly as he did, though Minhyuk protested saying that they had been on hiatus for a year before the show. Funny to think that they all climbed the ranks in unison.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this but several of the trainees went on to debut in other groups (Minkyun in ONF, Yoonho/Ayno in VAV, Seokwon in Ciipher), and #Gun has a solo career. As much as I like #Gun, I think it was smart of them to bring I.M in because #Gun and Joo are so similar and he and the other rappers risked becoming Joo's hypeman instead of partner. Joo and I.M are just so good together because they're so different yet they compliment each other.
Also, the mentors are harsh because they need to be. They can't baby them because nobody else in Kpop entertainment will. All the things I've seen from ex trainees and idols ... it's a really harsh world. The mentors need to weed out the weaker trainees because if they can't take the 💩 it may destroy the group once they debut.
Ah, thank you for sharing that! We're glad most of them debuted in different groups, which is great! We are going to hold off on #Gun because we haven't seen much of his rap style yet to see how similar he is with Jooheon. But yes, we mentioned in past reaction videos how well Jooheon and Changkyun complement each other.
As for the mentors being harsh, we get that. However, there is a time and place, and there are some comments that you can tell that are clearly made for ratings. There's a fine line of being harsh and being helpful with comments. Trust us, we come from the entertainment field, and we understand that Darwinism comes into play in this kind of setting. There is a reason why all Mbbs say that they hate this show. I haven't spoken to a Mbb who said they loved this show.

Thank you for agreeing with us because we have NO idea why he didn't debut yet because we felt Jooheon was sssoooo good. All these compliments. Sounds like all talk. C'mon man. But like another Monbebe said here, perhaps the show already predetermined that Jooheon would win and tried to find guys who would mesh well with him. WHO KNOWS.
But right off the bat, that man is gifted and talented, and it shows.
About shownu, he was cut of line of debut with got7 because he was consider to "old". I a belive this situation also include he not fitting in the standers of koreans and the type of concept at the time.
That is so unfortunate. Shownu is so talented in so many endless ways.

Ughh I still mad to this day remembering there are people calling Shownu and Jooheon 'ugly' and it'd make them felt self-conscious 😡🔥🔥🔥 But thank goodness Monbebes fiercely denied that and kept praising them(I mean, it's a FACT that they are handsome, those people are just SO BLIND!)

You don't have to, and it's okay! I know this show is very tough to watch. I've heard all sorts of crazy things about this show, and whatever happens in Episode 8...I know I'm going to be very pissed.
I'm sure you guys are going to see me upset. Someone already told me about a comment about what they said about Wonho, and I swear, I feel like I'm going to go unhinged on this show.
We had to balance this show out with something fun like their trip to Jeju Island. That's the only way we could watch this. 😭
@@LaChiMoLaLaOT7 my admiration for Jooheon grew after ep 8. His initial reaction to the situation wasn't great but his maturity and character made up for everything towards the end.

They really went all out in their editing to change the narratives and to create drama... So unnecessary!!
I feel that they had already selected some members (Shownu, Jooheon, Kihyun and maybe Wonho) and this show was to find other team members who would work well with them... This seems more plausible when you watch the different team challenges later and see how the members are grouped up... But the heartbreak and the tears and despair just makes me sad... I have said this before - this show and their experiences in it moulded the boys personalities in a way...
Anyway... 9 more to go...

I'm already uncomfortable in Episode 1, and I think we were both very tense. It's definitely going to get worse from here. The only silver lining to this is that we know who is going to win but still. Sometimes the process of getting to the end is actually the worst. :(

We were going to watch "Right Now" next, but we decided to bite the bullet and go with "No Mercy." We can't avoid it forever. I mean, I guess we could, but I wouldn't feel right calling myself a Monbebe if I don't know their origin story. :\

That’s Yoosu in this episode, and you are absolutely right! He does give out D.O vibes. He did not, and I think he quit the biz entirely after this show. Most of the guys who didn’t make it into Monsta X did debut in various bands (Vanner, ONF, etc.)
Just so you know, the judges don’t call them by their names and used numbers instead (which was one of our complaints about this show). Their numbers/rank change often in every ep.
