from what I have seen, Minhyuk LOVES ballads. Like really sad ballads. When he appeared on King of the Mask Singer he sang 3 ballads. Have a Goodnight, the ost he sang with Shownu is also a ballad. So I think Minhyuk's personal style, are ballads. as a Minbebe I want to hear him in every genre, but if I could just get him to do some solo stuff I wouldn't mind listening to all ballads. His voice is very beautiful so I can listen to him all the time.
Minhyuk is such a great dancer. When I started watching their stages and dance practices I started to think maybe he was part of the dance line. From my point of view and how the choreo and formations are made I always saw him paired with Wonho and Shownu the most. I thought to myself, he must be part of the dance line because he is in the front so much, or is in a mirrored spot to Shownu. Like making sure the stage presence is balanced in the formation.
