Till is using a technique that actually comes from German opera called Sprechstimme which means ''Speech-voice'' . It's a mixed technique where you use melodic speaking alongside music, that almost sounds like poetry recital and at points can be developed in full on singing. Fascinating stuff.
His best example of this in my opinion is the piano version of Mein Hertz Brennt.
@@danamontagnese6063 Yes, that one is great.
You can also find a lot of resemblance with the Sturm und Drang period from Germany. If you analyse the music, and the storytelling it is a lot closer to classical music than most other bands, especially in rock and metal
@sawnmiwe1460 I was raised on classical music and opera. your analysis of Till's voice technique explains why I'm so taken with Rammstein when I really don't care about metal bands at all. I find them a bit boring, actually. But Till Lindemann makes Rammstein so exciting.
I don't think Till has any whatsoever what technique he is using.
Fun fact: The sound in the background is the siren of a Stuka dive bomber, of WW2. For Europeans a well known sound. The siren was there to create chaos and fear every time the bomber dived. Even when they did not drop the bomb. So even that one sound-effect adds so much to the song, when you know the story behind it.
the sound at 4:58 sounds more like warning siren, do you mean the later whistling one? Cause you are talking about bombers, and I only know about bombs having whistles on them so im not sure what im looking for
@@fooltimer It was not the plane self that made the sound. The Stuka had an air siren mounted. With the extra airflow of a dive the siren produced this sound. The Stuka had only 1 bomb, or an anti tank gun, with not that much ammo. But this way, even if they were empty, they could spread terror on the ground, just by diving at them.
th-cam.com/users/shortsWLkR1JCY8QM?feature=share
@@Draugul I understand its not the plane engine, but a whistle, just wondered if its on the plane itself or on the bomb, as some bombs did have whistles on them afaik, so that even if you didn't get hit, you would hear them comming...btw I still don't know which sound is it in the song 😅
Ohhh so many people from WWII that heard that sound are still around to recall…..or what? Silly thing to say.
They actually have a song called Benzin (engl. Gasoline)
Great video too
Been requesting it since he found Rammstein
If you get a chance to watch the first 'XXX' with Vin Diesel, Rammstein plays this song in the beginning of the movie. And even for just a movie scene, they put on the pyros.
I checked the comments to see if someone had already mentioned.
And the pyro out of the face mask was awesome
The front rows of Rammstein concerts is called Fire zone (feuerzone) and as a female Rammstein fan I can confirm 😜
Oh, Till can sing! Check out their slower songs like "Ohne dich", "Seemann", "Mutter" or the piano version of "Mein Herz brennt"
The Piano version of Mein Herz Brennt is fucking fantastic
@@TheAngryMoth104 In my opinion it's even more impactful if you watch the normal version before
Fr or like entre dos tierras which he just released not on rammstein but on his side thingy
He learned singing from a Russian opera singeress.
There is a deep meaning in this song.....
The song is an exploration of the power of pain and experiences. The first verse is dedicated to the person who knows pain in the form of burning heat on the skin. In the chorus, "fire away!" is an invitation to seize the moment regardless of the risks it may bring. The third verse refers to the danger of knowing too much pain and the "burned child" who becomes separated from life by the fire of pain. The bridge emphasizes that not everyone is equally happy because what brings joy to one person can bring despair to another.
Yes, "Deutschland", but I'd really, really like to see you react to "Zeit". It is something completely different and you should really hear that side of Rammstein too. I think you will be very surprised and also appreciate the band even more. It's not all about their crazy live performances. There is so much depth and variety in their music.
+1. Deutschland is a must do. Zeit is awesome too. That video.... Skip the live performances from now on: Their videos are works of art often worth as much as the music.
There are also hundreds of reactions of these on youtube already, so they won't be blocked
Also, Till shows off his vocal range very well on "Ohne Dich" and "Mein Herz Brennt".
All great, but as a music video Zick Zack is a must watch:)
@@p4c10 Also 'Mann Gegen Mann', I'm not sure BP will ever listen to them again after seeing that one.
Rammstein is the best live show. Even when you don't understand the language, you walk away a fan.
Pretty much yeah
I don’t know the language but kick ass music is the only language I love.
First Rammstein experience was back home in Reykjavik, Iceland back in '01. Indoor arena, no open windows or doors. We all left looking like we just got out of the pool with our clothes on... out into 15° weather. Good times.
Haha, I was there, and this is true 😅 good times!
Good thing it was in the summer
I've only just read it, but it seems really cool. You all stayed healthy?👍
@annegretkasten6277 let me put it this way
You shouldn't wear a sweater in the first 50 rows but even if there were seat numbers everyone would love to swap with you if you can't handle it in the front.
@annegretkasten6277 catching a cold was worth it lol
I've never been at the front, but I can tell you I could feel the intense heat from the very back of the stadium.....very welcome on a chilly night! I'm from the UK and their last concert was in Cardiff, South Wales. The fire department had many phone calls that evening, people reporting that the stadium was on fire! 😂 The smoke clouds the pyrotechnics created were phenomenal 😮
Actually around 10 years ago they almost postponed their concert in Riga because Arena had problems with water pressure😂😂😂😂 so couple of fire trucks were outside just in case 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@owtena 😭😂😭😂
They have a huge generator with them because the city's power supply collapsed in the past.
"Y'all going to the shows - how hot is the front row?" - Oh, if you only knew. It's really a bit of an ill-timed question ;-)
I see what you did there, 😮
I was 3rd row at an indoor concert in the early 2000s hot as hell. Thank God I'm bold. My beard was curled 😅
It's actually still pretty hot even in the box seats... I saw them at Lincoln financial field in Philadelphia last August
@Black Pegasus I really like that Rammstein is one of the only bands out there that can create both serious and silly songs. Also I like that Rammstein has a classical musical style to them by not just having a bass player, a drummer, a guitar player but also a harp player, and keyboard player, and piano player in order to balance out the heaviness of the bass, drums, and guitar.
From being at the concert in the golden circle you can actually see the stage hand guys come up and change stuff, I could see them run up and put the flame throwers on the heads of the guitarists.
The front row is very hot! I dont know how they handle it on stage.
it is actually fascinating isn't it, seeing the pyro assitants and stage hands etc, how quick and discete they are! From being golden circle/feuerzone one night to seated next night at same venue it was amazing how much you don't really see that side of things at all. Very well produced, well executed and of course epic performances
2 minute quick change between tracks. I worked as local crew for Rammstein when they played all over the UK
Seen Rammstein live twice, really is a live show like no other, last time I was so close to the stage that I'm amazed I came out of there without singed eyebrows... this video was actually rather tame compared to some of their pyro set ups
I saw them in Düsseldorf, in the stadium. I was RIGHT at the back and could not only feel the heat but also my inner organs were bounced by the bass...
I just wanna let you know that I just came home from today's show in Munich (they are playing 4 shows here this week) and I can't even put into words how incredible it was! I'm going to see them again on Sunday, can't wait! 🤘🏻
I was 11.06. on the show in München. Rammstein is a legend. Lyrics are poetry. Show s are fantastic.
@@ElifKocacanomg I’m soooooo jealous 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I was at the 10/6 show. Unreal
At the stadium tour there were four (or six? Can't remember.) fire throwing towers among the audience aswell. Heat could be felt everywhere inside the stadium.
It's fucking incredible, I honestly felt like all the hairs on my head were being burnt off from the heat
First time seeing live. The official video for this is them playing at a club in the opening minutes of the Vin Diesel's xXx movie. Very cool also. Did you know they have a song they sing in Spanish?
Rammstein - Te Quiero Puta!
They also have one in Russian with the girls from Tatu I believe
Rammstein Mein Teil live is crazy! Worth watching
Mein Tiel is brilliant live. I wonder why they are picking silly songs like pssy. When the subject matter in Mein Tiel and Weiner blut are so powerful. And the live show is mind blowing
💯💯💯
Gott keep requesting it on their rammstein videos
Front row, middle, side, back - it gets hot all around! They have huge towers in the middle of the audience in stadiums that shoot fire as well so no one is left out in the cold so to speak. Still waiting for that reaction to live Mein Teil!
Hell, I was in the upper bowl at Rammstein at Lincoln Financial Field (Philly) and could feel the heat!
Don't get tired of being roasted!
That's where the fun is!
😂😂❤❤
Love this ❤ the keyboardist on the treadmill reportedly walks 10+ miles during a show
I just saw them live for the first time in Denmark. The show is so amazing! I was in the Firezone & even the pyro from the back & top of the stage was hot! The stuff closer to the audience was surprisingly hot & i was in the 4th row! Could even feel the pyro from the tall delay towers! Also the foam in p**sy smells great!!! Like a bubble bath!
I was about 50m far from the stage and got sweating every time they fired something. Its incredibly hot
Front row is like burning 😅 was there last year 10x in Europe, this year will be just 12 times 😢
It's not just the pit, it's the entire venue that's f'm burning!
Last time I saw them, it was open air at a festival, about 40.000 people. It was probabæy about 35*C in the middle of the square, where my friend and I was standing.
All members of the band as-well as many key staff and crew are all trained pyro tech's, for the exact reason that it's ao incorporated in the shows.
It was a requirement for Till to be allowed to wear the wings...
The front row at rammstein is called the Firezone for a reason. It translates to Firezone.
Its awesome. And yes, if you go to such a conert into the firezone and have one banger after another. They are really fast between their songs.
Also, yes, react to Deutschland but i can tell you it is hard as - man, especially the video is a complex music video even for Rammstein.
The reaction when the flames came made this whole video
I've been to multiple shows...u can feel the heat from no matter where u sit
If you havnt seen them live do it! I saw them in 2001 Indoors , and 2022 at Gillette stadium best show I’ve ever been to!! The experience is like no another!
Fun fact…. Till Lindemann (vocalist) is a certified pyro technician… hence their shows breathe ‘fire’
I was Rammstein shows 7 times and one of the in a front row (2012 tour Made in Germany). My eyebrows was smoked of fire, my body was very sweat but it was amazing experience
You guys are really great. I come from far away Germany but I find your way of evaluating the bands and discussing them really interesting. I'm actually already an old grandpa at 53! However, I always enjoy your channel and what you talk about! Thumbs up and keep it up. Warm greetings from Germany !
If you want to see an other side of Till Lindemann, he has a song with an amazing artist called Zaz, she is French... The song is Called Le jardin des larmes, that song it's so beautiful 💕
FYI: Rammstein performed this this song at the beginning of the movie XXX that Ice Cube was in.
You can feel the heat at the back😂
he singing its called Sprechstimme and is often used in theatre
OMG - The Bela conversation at the end lit me up. Haha.
You guys need to react to "Deutschland" by Rammstein !
I've been in the front row once... I could barely stand the heat for the whole show... a couple of times I could swear my eyebrows were burned off
The official piano version of Mein Herz brennt don't seem to get blocked judging from other reaction channels. Perhaps demonetized, that I can't tell.
Saw the original album tour in 2001 with this performance, front row, in a small venue. The heat was intense.
i was introduced to rammstein over 20 years ago with the record Mutter,, Du hast was famous in the hole europe.
This is the best live show you'll ever see.
For info: Rammstein has so many fire effects and explosions because most of the members are firefighters.
I first heard this song in 2005 when I was 7 years old watching the movie XXX with Vin Diesel. So good,
Been in the last row in the ice skate-arena and I felt the warmth of the flames.
Been in 20 meters from the stage, in middle of 4 long pylons that had flames shooting from them (those were 20 to 50 meters from me) and it felt like opening the door to hot sauna.
Nice warming in the cool night.
Most of the members were originally iron workers before creating the band. Til Lindemann is also a pyro-technician.
No, they were always musicians. In the GDR they always had to take on a cover job. Apart from Till, who was a single father, none of them worked big.
German class:
Feuer = Fire
Frei = Free
Reverse german syntax for english = Free Fire
Context = A Free Fire zone is where you may "fire at will."
Ever Seen Vin Diesels movie xXx this song the concert is in the movie
i’ve been to their concert in july in paris this year and i was all the way to the back of the stadium, like 4th before the last row of the stadium and it’s funny bc i once said “oh it’s beginning to be cold out here” and then bam fire in front of the stage and i surely i wasn’t cold anymore lmao
Funny that you say that 12:47, because Rammstein has a song called Gasoline (or. Benzin in german) :)
Till looks like Frankenstein and we love him for it!
I took this from LinkedIn: "he stage is 60m broad and 35m high, 90 trucks deliver 1.350 tonnes of material, and it takes 60 hours to build the stage up. At every concert, around 1.000 litres of fuel will be burned in pyrotechnic effects"
I first heard this song from the opening/title sequence to XXX starring Vin Diesel
I have been in a pit at their ATL 2 concerts first at Family Values. The flames are so fing hot!! But so much fun live
Blew my mind when I realized I've actually heard this song way back in the day in the first xXx movie
Guys, if you need a good-looking, sweet-smelling native speaker to plug into future Rammstein vids with the knowledge ... I know this Portugese guy who speaks a word or two of that crazy German language. 🙂🇩🇪
You have to listen to the album "Zeit".... You will see how high Till's reach is.... And how divers the lyrics are
Enjoy
Stein
I would love to know where I can get Kristall Weizen in the US. I've looked forever, all bars and shops carry is Hefeweizen, Lager and Pilsner. I dont even like beer but True, German Kristall Wiesen is soooooo good.
@@ms.lisamarie82 also called Champagner Weizen. Trader Joe's and Aldi (both German) maybe? And it's more a Baden-Württemberg thing then Bavarian.
RAMMSTEIN 🤘🏼🔥🔥🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🔥🔥🔥best damn band on Earth.
I appreciate you gents. keep on keeping on
It plays with the idea of Prometheus, the principle of change/creation through ignition and lighting.
They used to give out stickers that said I survived the first row with rammstein also if you want amazing pyrotechnics react to the live version of sonne
Deutschland is not blocked just watched or sonne.. there stage show is definitely a site to see in person
Mutter and Ohne Dich are also bangers you should give a listen to.
Knot and Stein are my 2 fav bands lol
I saw them for the 1st time August 3 in Belgium (Brussels), it was great, best live show ever.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE SONG OF THEIRS
The first three rows are called feuerzone at Rammstein concerts😂
You MUST see them live Bro!😉🤗
I was on the concert in munich last week. You can feel the flames across the stadium
7:15 Oh man.. Till and chicks from first (or zero) row its currently pretty hot topic.
we were sitting above the floor seats in the loge seats, good view.. but the heat we could feel was so much, we saw them at AT&T Center in San Antonio.. We were quite a ways back and the heat was still intense
Oh boy that makes me hyped....gonna see them live tomorrow in Munich
Have fun and don't forget to take in some fluid before you go in! ;-)
Have you only reacted to live recitals? I know they are amazing I love them, but have you already reacted to "Mein herz Brennt" Piano version? .... Highly recommended ♥
I really recommend you the song Armee Der Tristen, I’m sure you’re gonna like it
I've been to some Rammstein concerts and have been standing in the second row and let me tell you, you feel like a chicken getting roasted! It's just sooo hot, but worth it!
And to answer your question from some videos before: I'm from Germany and I know your channel from reacting to Ren. And when I saw that you (finally) found Rammstein I was like YES!! Finally!!
Love your work, guys!
Fun fact: this song was in movie xXx starring Vin Diesel and Samuel L Jackson and other actors Danny Trejo Willem Dafoe and Ice Cube
Till is a licensed pyrotechnician. The band has a very simple rule for venues. No pyro, no show.
Seen them live in Gelderdome with the same show (Netherlands) when i was 17 of 18 and im now 38... best sick show ever, you aint seen nothing yet.
Song is from movie Tripple xXX with Vin Diesel
In the newer outside conserts they have fireballs ahooting over the spectators
One of the few bands that makes you get a pyrotechnics certification before joining.
I've lost my eyebrows in the Rammstein's show first row lol IT IS HOT there 😂
This song was featured in first Triple X movie. Vin Diesel actually saw these guys.
I saw them twice GREATEST SHOW EVERRRRRRRRR , the only problem i have with RAMMSTEIN is since i started listening to them I can't listen or enjoy any other rock band ,
I like your reaction videos the best. I love that you actually show the clips of the video and don't just shout over it.
The more recent live videos have even more pyrotechnics! Check the more recent live Rammstein & Sonne from their 2022 tour! They are literally fire!🔥
Stein um Stein from Volkerball...is a must a true master piece!
The picture with Bela Lugosi is from the 1931 film Dracula. He looks like Till Lindenmann (Rammstein), but he is not the same person, bro.
Whats up !!! Stein um Stein dude !!!
Want a Rammstein curveball? Check out the acapella version of Mein Herz Brennt
This is the song that was in XXX
they are incredibly good live with their pyrotechnics
I learned German at school and my teacher fertilizes the pot with Raimstein with us so it's different
remember the band and song in the opening sequence of the movie XXX
You should Watch this next!
I am going to there koncerts 2 times a year and they are awsome every time!
-Pussy
-Puppe
-Mein Teil
-Sonne
The front row is HOT. Matter of fact, the entire front section of the standing crowd area is hot AF.
I had nose bleed seats at the eagles stadium, and when the flames would shoot up, you instantly felt it get hotter. Wish I could send you a picture of the flames
You have to look: Rammstein Paris - Wollt Ihr Das Bett In Flammen Sehen (Official Video). Amazing pyrotechnic performance.
Rammstein is so EPIC!!!!!!!
