Murali is one of my favourite cricketers. Actually got to meet him a few years ago, really nice guy. A lot shorter than I expected (I put him around 168-170cm. I'm 189cm), but the conversation I had and his down to earth nature left an impression on me forever. Absolute legend.

You know, I think that the controversy was a hidden blessing. I think that the people who called Murali a chucker was really a test of his passion for the game. You can also consider whether its a tailender or not or how many games have the player played or I don't know whether the batsman couldn't had his banana in the morning. Boris wicket is a wicket at the end of the day nothing less nothing more. so it will be 800 test wickets for Murali and 92 wickets ahead from the second best even though playing lesser number of games than him.

Also MM beat up on Bangladesh. Remove Bangladesh statistics from all bowlers and MM is less than SW's figures. Sri Lanka has played way more tests against Bangladesh than anyone. They 'artificially' make t hemselves look better. Sangakarra's record also looks weaker if you remove the Bangladesh results.

It was the golden era for both the team Lanka and the world cricket. Warne and Murali ruled the cricket world along with some other best bowlers in the world cricket. Right now things got different. It is difficult to highlight any good bowlers currently playing in the world cricket. Batsman's are getting good opportunity to play their favorite shots and scoring many runs. However it will make the spectators happy and attract many people to watch cricket, but in long terms it will effect the quality of the cricket.

Murali is one of my favourite cricketers. Actually got to meet him a few years ago, really nice guy. A lot shorter than I expected (I put him around 168-170cm. I'm 189cm), but the conversation I had and his down to earth nature left an impression on me forever. Absolute legend.
