      Lol. But seriously, different approach. He'd work with the nervous energy, because it isn't going away.
      Actually, Sabrina has a mental coach video up as well. It's very interesting. Worth a look.

    I did this years ago: 1) analyze the lie, wet, sloped, wind etc.; 2) see the shot; 3) feel the shot; 4) trust the swing; 5 accept your results and move on. When I got my game face on and did this on every shot, I always played well. It's not always the social way to play but when you had to play well, it rocked!

    I play ice hockey....and the discussion about mentality really fits. You can't play nice...and be a good player. Doesn't mean you have to be nasty.....but you do have to be ferocious in the playing....and no holds barred, in regard to the effort to achieve the end goal.....scoring....whether in golf or hockey.

    Holy cow, this video is so beyond helpful. I’m new to golf, but am a very athletic individual, work in the fitness industry, and struggle SO hard with the mental aspect of the game, since I’m generally a person who knows how to move my body, and I’m super result oriented. It’s so awesome to see your coach talking through all this stuff that goes on in probably everyone’s heads at some point in the course, and how to pivot and navigate around that language, it’s so so helpful. Thank you 🙏🏻

    I do love the video and aspect of mental training so don’t hate what I’m going to say. Too many steps before hitting it can be troublesome I think. It’s going to vary for different shots. Like some putts you really need to be focused solely on a vision of the line, slope, grain etc. seeing ball in hole. Too many thoughts or boxes to check will cause you to check out on the shot. It works on shots like driver because you have so much room for error you are just trying to hit a window. But for putting, you need to be one with the putt. A short, straight putt that you be nervous about missing, yes breathing may help there. Some shots you just need to be able to mentally say I got this, step up and hit the shot you know you can hit. It’s like a positive feeling in your body. All the steps are trying to override negative feelings which is also useful at times

    • @chendogolf
      @chendogolf  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      100000000% agree with you!!!! Mental training and breathing is important, but at the end of the day you need to practice and know you can perform certain shots

    Excellent video. I feel in the Golf Girl Games that you get out of your routine and get a little bit rushed sometimes. I get the fact that the GGG is for entertainment and fun , but all of you are competitors and have been for a long time and that will always be there with you. Now hopefully the next time I go out and play golf , I can put some of these things into practice in my own game. Thank you for doing this video.

    Thanks for the insight on having and using a Mental Coach. Great stuff and info. I can use some of the things here. You are always so loose and even keel, all videos, and negative results is not a factor for you. Question, do you ever go into 100% serious mode, even for a few holes? If so, how did that turn out since it seems to be outside your normal flow and character? Just curious about that. My golf friends tell me that I will never be as good as I can be, because I really don't care about winning or loosing, even though I take their skins money every weekend. Here is something that helps me with all my rounds, I don't care "much" how far and where my tee shot goes. I don't care "much" where my approach shot goes. I practice and honestly, truly and literally believe that I will make every chip and every putt, no matter the lie or distance, and practice this way. From this, I will be adding a consistant preshot routine and make that part of my practice and playing. Thanks and good luck with the journey to the LPGA.

    The reason to ask about someone's score after their round isn't to measure performance....it's just a polite & short way to ask how the journey was.
    If you ask how someone's round was....that opens a possibility to wanting to talk about their round for half an hour explaining everything. We don't want that. Just want to politely asking how your experience was at this time. LoL.

    This was VERY Interesting !!! Golf has to be most mentally challenging sport. We see it week in and week out with the Pro Golf Tours and how often it seems a certain player has His or Her game 'firing on all cylinders' and they win their first PGA or LPGA event or that person who has struggled for years making that BIG WIN !!!
    On the course I like to refer to my favorite psychologist by the name of 'Odd Ball' from a Classic Vintage Movie; 'NO NEGATIVE WAVES MAN !!!' th-cam.com/video/ncbEucjsNFU/w-d-xo.html

    I have trouble in putting trust in a mental focus coach that won't follow his own training on not eating the wrong foods in massively wrong amounts and focus on getting healthy. His focus statement should be something like, I need to eat right, less and exercise to live. If he doesn't believe in what he teaches, why would anyone else? That's what I think anyway.
