Lol. But seriously, different approach. He'd work with the nervous energy, because it isn't going away. Actually, Sabrina has a mental coach video up as well. It's very interesting. Worth a look.
I did this years ago: 1) analyze the lie, wet, sloped, wind etc.; 2) see the shot; 3) feel the shot; 4) trust the swing; 5 accept your results and move on. When I got my game face on and did this on every shot, I always played well. It's not always the social way to play but when you had to play well, it rocked!
Ton of value in this video for anyone who plays, but especially for those who play competitively. If I were a coach I'd be making every one of my players watch this.
Sing your favorite song in your mind or keep a favorite scent in your pocket. Anything to redirect your mind from negative thoughts. God Bless you and may all your dreams come true !!
God wants us to have confidence. Confidence isn’t pride. Pride is simply believing you are the source of the good things. Being humble doesn’t mean lacking confidence. Thanks for the video
I play ice hockey....and the discussion about mentality really fits. You can't play nice...and be a good player. Doesn't mean you have to be nasty.....but you do have to be ferocious in the playing....and no holds barred, in regard to the effort to achieve the end goal.....scoring....whether in golf or hockey.
Cailyn you have SO MUCH game and you talk DOWN on yourself it truly gets in the way of your game ! So glad you are doing this and become the FULL talented golfer you truly are !!!!
This was very useful tks. I've started playing speed golf when I practice. Warm up. Speed Golf. Normal pace. It tricks my brain into feeling calm at a normal pace.
Cailyn congratulations on your Number 1 spot in this month's Golf Monthly article. This video is an example of why you're the best! I love your content!!
This just put a whole different perspective into my game. Im a headcase on the course and negative results can make 1 bad shot turn into a bad hole into a bad round. Definitely going intimplement some of these practices into my game. Great video
im a new to your site Cailyn, and i have seen a LOTTTTT of golf-videos, but for the first time i really learned something very very importent thanks.i will follow you and your good friend Sabrina
Lord, I sure needed that today. Sometimes golf blows my mind. Sometimes a psychiatrist is needed too! I love golf but sometimes it treats me pretty bad! Love your channel!
Incredible that no ones playing there. Just a beautiful golf course in pristine condition. This was an enlightening video for me as I am a mental case on the course.
Wow CC this was a really good show of you and your mental coaching and let’s see the real you. I learned lots by this and wanted to say thanks for sharing with us all and your very humble and personal person. Again thanks
Your swing is so solid! - Like Austin Powers would say, "just keep grooving it" - I have no doubt with all the golf you are playing you will have some great scoring rounds this summer. Keep up the great work.
Even when you heard the comments he was making for the drill, you remained focused and in your zone. Valuable practice for the multitude of distractions both youtube and pro golf will bring you. This was really interesting and brave of you. Loving your work Cailyn.
Thanks for this! I loved the smoothness and flow of the session. Very calming and conducive to staying in the zone. I'm definitely going to try these techniques so I can thrash my buddies with a friendly smile!
Very good video. Very educational, including on a personal level. I had some takeaways for my own approach. Your body language was much different than the GGG by the end. More relaxed, more calm, more centred, more in control. Loved seeing that for you. Woof!
Calling, good morning! I really enjoyed this; you are an absolutely a great golfer. Golf is such a head game and having a coach is a good thing. You have the best personality and laugh, it would be fun to watch you in person! Take care, have a great Friday, weekend and safe travels.
Holy cow, this video is so beyond helpful. I’m new to golf, but am a very athletic individual, work in the fitness industry, and struggle SO hard with the mental aspect of the game, since I’m generally a person who knows how to move my body, and I’m super result oriented. It’s so awesome to see your coach talking through all this stuff that goes on in probably everyone’s heads at some point in the course, and how to pivot and navigate around that language, it’s so so helpful. Thank you 🙏🏻
Watching the video of your tournament round. The pre- and post-shot discussions and process were very different and all about mechanics and results. This video will help ME and you.
I enjoyed this on many levels. The coaching is eye opening. Your interaction with your coach is cute and I love your wholesome reactions. I feel like you're going to become so awesome. Go for it Cailyn!
I do love the video and aspect of mental training so don’t hate what I’m going to say. Too many steps before hitting it can be troublesome I think. It’s going to vary for different shots. Like some putts you really need to be focused solely on a vision of the line, slope, grain etc. seeing ball in hole. Too many thoughts or boxes to check will cause you to check out on the shot. It works on shots like driver because you have so much room for error you are just trying to hit a window. But for putting, you need to be one with the putt. A short, straight putt that you be nervous about missing, yes breathing may help there. Some shots you just need to be able to mentally say I got this, step up and hit the shot you know you can hit. It’s like a positive feeling in your body. All the steps are trying to override negative feelings which is also useful at times
100000000% agree with you!!!! Mental training and breathing is important, but at the end of the day you need to practice and know you can perform certain shots
Excellent video. I feel in the Golf Girl Games that you get out of your routine and get a little bit rushed sometimes. I get the fact that the GGG is for entertainment and fun , but all of you are competitors and have been for a long time and that will always be there with you. Now hopefully the next time I go out and play golf , I can put some of these things into practice in my own game. Thank you for doing this video.
Very educational video, I wish I had seen it years ago. It will be interesting to see how you can apply this to GGG with all of the distractions in that format. And also, your laugh makes me smile every time I hear it. Keep the content coming.
Thanks for the insight on having and using a Mental Coach. Great stuff and info. I can use some of the things here. You are always so loose and even keel, all videos, and negative results is not a factor for you. Question, do you ever go into 100% serious mode, even for a few holes? If so, how did that turn out since it seems to be outside your normal flow and character? Just curious about that. My golf friends tell me that I will never be as good as I can be, because I really don't care about winning or loosing, even though I take their skins money every weekend. Here is something that helps me with all my rounds, I don't care "much" how far and where my tee shot goes. I don't care "much" where my approach shot goes. I practice and honestly, truly and literally believe that I will make every chip and every putt, no matter the lie or distance, and practice this way. From this, I will be adding a consistant preshot routine and make that part of my practice and playing. Thanks and good luck with the journey to the LPGA.
Cailyn mental game video was the best u tube video ,,i watched the British women's open some of the on the putting green put a tee peg in the ground hit a few balls to the T then you won't have in your head i missed a putt ,you are a fabulous person cailyn ❤ 😊 more videos like this 😊
You got this... Hope you can apply these to provide you with the mental strength and calmness you desire... Joshua 1:9 Psalm 37:5 Psalm 56:3 Proverbs 3:5 Luke 12:28-31 Philipians 4:3 Phillipians 4:6 2 Timothy 1:7 James 1:4 James 4:10 1 Peter 5:7
not for nutrition and diet advice... weird, diet is so intimately connected to psychology, cerebellum functioning, executive functioning, maintaining a quiet mind when necessary, parasympathetic nervous system regulation, frustration tolerance, body temperature control, yeah and other stuff too, if you could imagine.........
Mental game is so important. Playing confidence golf is just as important hitting mutiple golf balls..brain is giant chemical sponge and fine tuning it makes difference in end not the type of equipment a person uses as is marketed on tv..
Loving the video so far. Had to stop to ask, what is a "go-to statement"? I googled "go-to statement psychology" and found like... computer programming stuff lol
CC I was wondering why do you need a mental coach at this time , I think it’s good if it’s to make you better to the game and tournaments? But your over all outlook on the game is good and you have good and average games from watching you on GGG. But I back it all to be better and be prepared when you play. Good job
maybe the good shot after the quicker preshot routine means you should have a quicker preshot routine...... does a longer preshot routine literally activate your head bone too much?
6:45 The reason to ask about someone's score after their round isn't to measure performance....it's just a polite & short way to ask how the journey was. If you ask how someone's round was....that opens a possibility to wanting to talk about their round for half an hour explaining everything. We don't want that. Just want to politely asking how your experience was at this time. LoL.
We all know Cailyn golf is such a mental game not all physical good days & off days just continue to laugh enjoy & ps when I hit a lucky great shot I always say thank you Jesus !! also maybe you can be my favs mental coach Sabrina haha luv GGG all your channels !!
Great video Cailyn. Please when you do the Golf Girls don't suppress the fun Cailyn until you set up shot. Go through you routine and shut Sabrina out. You can do this. Without the fun Cailyn those videos would be greatly diminished.
Cailyn You’re a flippin awesome golfer and cool. I wanted you, taller girls to have won that, you deserved to have won it. You. You (tall girls) have to get them back, you have to. (Beat them) shorties, and the shorties have to eat 4 times the amount you had to. 4 times amount shorties have to eat. Love your videos, subscribe
This was VERY Interesting !!! Golf has to be most mentally challenging sport. We see it week in and week out with the Pro Golf Tours and how often it seems a certain player has His or Her game 'firing on all cylinders' and they win their first PGA or LPGA event or that person who has struggled for years making that BIG WIN !!! On the course I like to refer to my favorite psychologist by the name of 'Odd Ball' from a Classic Vintage Movie; 'NO NEGATIVE WAVES MAN !!!' th-cam.com/video/ncbEucjsNFU/w-d-xo.html
I have trouble in putting trust in a mental focus coach that won't follow his own training on not eating the wrong foods in massively wrong amounts and focus on getting healthy. His focus statement should be something like, I need to eat right, less and exercise to live. If he doesn't believe in what he teaches, why would anyone else? That's what I think anyway.
Im sorry you need a different mental coach, any coach that is 250lbs obviously hasnt got the necessary tools to coach anyone if he cant get himself mentally fit to keep physically fit. Yes he may have the qualifications, but he is asking you to get the same mental fortitude you need when he has none for himself. Sorry.. ps - but i do love watching you play.
@@barendsteenkamp5904 I agree, im talking about his own his own mental state of mind that he cant keep himself physically fit...something lacking there.
Three major reasons I watch you Cailyn. 1) Your wrist release is worth studying. 2) Your laugh. 3) Your attitude.
Imagine the work this guy would have to put in to fix Sabrina’s craziness 😂
