    This is insane. Just today, like 20 minutes ago, I beat my all time high score and got 802,115. I don't use this technique though. To me I always though getting 800k was impossible unless you used this strat, i was stuck for like a year at 700k and couldn't raise it anymore. I just play normally, setting up double tetrises and burning as little as possible, and I like it better that way. Like, if there is a thing like this in a game then exploit the hell out of it it's what everyone should do. But I like playing normally because, no offense to you or this strat, I feel more accomplished and it's more entertaining. I have to think harder and it's more exhilarating while this strat is just the same thing for about 10 minutes. I'm not calling you or this strat bad or anything, a world record is a world record and only the best can get scores as high as these using this strat and it is an amazing feat. I'm just really proud of myself for getting that high of a score without having to do tspins

      I'm a fan of ST stacking because it's much more difficult to maintain than clean normal stacking, and as an added bonus I already get to play normal tetris on the left side of the board. If you want to avoid t-spins, I think 850k is the rough cap for playing through level 25 and 1.2m through level 30. Best of luck!

      playing without t spins in modern tetris is easy, just try doing st stacking if you want to compare difficulty and then talk

    Been trying to get 1 million with LST stacking, crazy that ST stacking gets this many points. Nice run, and nice not doing mech tsd lol. How does LST compare to ST with efficiency? Also how do you survive past level 25 I just can't do it?

    • @orangenostril
      @orangenostril  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To be entirely honest, I didn't know that LST stacking existed until I saw this comment. Since you only need to do a tetris every 8 TSDs instead of every 4 it could be 11% more efficient, so I'm definitely going to try it out!

  • @zulianfr

    How consistent are you usually? I mean you obviously don't get a new WR each time, but how many tries does it take you to get a good game?

    • @orangenostril
      @orangenostril  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It usually takes me a couple tries to not screw up in the first few levels, funnily enough, but when I'm practicing a game that gets past the first few levels will usually get me at least 2m. When I'm out of practice, it'll be closer to 1.6-1.8m

    • @orangenostril
      @orangenostril  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you make yourself look at the upcoming pieces before the next one locks, you can get a head start in figuring out where you want it to go. At levels 28-30 make sure you keep up the piece momentum, because if you have to change directions the piece might just lock in place.

    Are tetrises and t spins worth more at higher levels? It seems like it.

  • @LordOfFlies

    I Haven't seen anyone else on youtube doing the same T-spin setup as you do. I have been trying to replicate your technique the past few days but can't really get a hang of it. I think if you made a tutorial you could in time get a decent amount of views!

    • @orangenostril
      @orangenostril  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You know, I just might. In the meantime, here's the setup I'm using tetris.fandom.com/wiki/ST_Stacking
      A couple quick tips on top of that- don't worry so much about the pieces you use apart from the S and T, focus more on the shape (overhang with the flat top). I prefer using the LZ pieces because otherwise it's a lot easier to run into a problem with not having a place for the square pieces. Besides that, playing as flat as you reasonably can (no 2 block tall spikes) helps you always have a spot for whatever piece shows up. The last tip I've never seen anyone talk about but has been super helpful for me: make sure you use an even number of T pieces on the left side. Avoid using T pieces on the left if you can, but if you have a couple and/or your stack is low, make sure you use 2 as closely together as you reasonably can. Otherwise, you get those awkward spikes that you can't really fix without another T. If you have to play a T on the left and don't have another one close at hand, burning a single line on top can help fix the problem.
