The NICU team really does become family when you have a preemie that's there for awhile. Our teams were amazing. My tiny little bit is now a teen and I'm so thankful every day for the teams both mine(ours before she was born and during delivery) and hers after delivery. This is amazing. So glad they were in such an amazing place and they gave her a chance.
When my twin grandsons were born at Willis-Knighton South Hospital in Shreveport, Hospital in May of 1999, they were born at 34 weeks, I believe. They weighed 4 lbs. 3 oz. and 4 lbs. 7 oz. The neonatologist, Dr. Lewis, told us of a study he had done on preemies to find out which babies do the best. At that time they had just had a baby girl who had weighed 12 oz. at birth, finally get to go home. She was a little black baby and was doing fantastic. Dr. Lewis told us that what he had discovered was that black baby girls do best…then white girls…then black boys and bringing up at the last was white boys. Now he did not mention Asian, Native American, or Hispanic so I don’t know if he included all of those babies in with white babies or just did not include them in the study at all. But I think he was trying to prepare us if our little white boys didn’t do well. But they did great and only had to spend 2 weeks in the NICU. They have done extremely well, hardly ever being sick as they grew up. Both are smart, have finished college, are musically gifted. Playing guitar, singing and song writing…they are great at imitating foreign dialects and very funny comedians. Their BA’s are in communication. I have noticed that most of the time when you see a tiny preemie baby that survives and does well…it turns out to be a little black baby girl. I have always thought that that must mean that black women are VERY strong when they grow up!
My daughter weighed 5lbs 4oz and was 18" long when she was born at 35 weeks...the tiniest baby I've ever held. So I can't even fathom a baby this tiny. God bless her ❤
I had pre clampsia with both my pregnancies. I thank God everyday for being under the care of Sharp Mary Birch. My doctor and the NICU doctors and nurses saved my boy's and I's lives. This is such a special story and the staff here are making miracles happen everyday. God bless these heroes and this baby😭❤️😇
Wow. What a miracle. I’ve had 3 babies that have all ended up in the NICU. The experience is daunting, it’s exhausting, it’s scary, but each time I stepped foot on the ward, each familiar face I saw be it nurses, doctors, staff or fellow NICU parents, I felt the emotional support. The nurses and staff on the NICU ward have a certain compassion that carries us mothers through each day that our baby is in the NICU. We trust these nurses with our baby’s life without ever meeting them before without even knowing their names we have complete trust in the nurses to care for our baby. They are heaven sent that’s for sure!
I had a daughter last year born at 23 weeks 4 days. She was a chunky 1lb 5oz and was 8 1/2” long. She went back to god at 12 days old due to heart failure. You have no idea how great of a miracle your child is. Cherish every moment you have with them, you never know how much time you have together.
Yeah so after first making the pregnancy life-threateningly difficult and then having doctors work with jaw-dropping modern medical science around the clock to keep this child alive, we thank god for it. That seems fair
I was born 3 months early ( I think at 25 weeks ) and weighed 2lbs 10oz and was one of the first preemies for Seattle's preemie program, and till the age of ten I would go to the hospital for check ups every six months for said program and that was 35 yrs ago. It's amazing how far hospitals have come to saving lives.

I was a volunteer at our local hospital's NICU. I was a "cuddler" because I would hold the babies once they were bigger and also held the babies that were born addicted. This was a wonderful experience for which I will always be grateful. I witnessed miracles and walked on hollowed grounds. God was always present as were his angels, the nurses!
Sharp is literally the best when it comes to maternity wards! They have the best doctors! Best nurses! Sharp saved both my sons lives they are truly filled with angels !!! THEE BEST!
The love from the staff, family and friends can do miracles. With the power of prayer all things are possible. Congrats to the parents and family. Precious as can be.
This is such a powerful story of those who are dedicated to save a life no matter how small that life is. I have begun sharing this story and video across my social media platforms and I'm asking all of my friends, my readers and their families to also spread this story across America. This is the most important rebuke to the abortion industry's obsession with for-profit infanticide since abortion was legalized in the United States in 1973. Saybie truly is a miracle baby and Sharp Mary Birch Hospital, its dedicated staff and its state of the art medical techology were absolutely used by God to make that miracle happen. Saybie's story must be told to Congress and every state legislature during a time when pro-abortion politicians like the Democrats in New York just passed late term abortion and infanticide legislation which allow doctors to exterminate a viable, post-abortion baby who survives the abortion procedure, and even as late as the day the mother goes into labor physicians in the state of New York are now allowed to terminate the unwanted baby's life and they can terminate the baby after the mother gives birth if the mother decides she doesn't want the baby or the physician determines the baby has a "defect" like Down Syndrome. All human life, at every stage of life and in every circumstance, is worth saving and worth fighting for. Dignity and respect for humanity begins in the womb. From that perspective and from the foundational moral code embraced by every medical provider "to do no harm" when caring for their patients irrespective of that patient's status in society, America's future and its moral direction will be set by this present generation's view of life in the womb and how we, as a people, treat people at all stages of life.
The staffs at USA are very respectful and kind. I came inside through the MRI door (lower level) and asked the MRI staff for help getting to X-Ray Department. They were able to direct me to the first level Check-In office. A janitor helped me to get to the elevators area. The staff at the Check-In office, after checking me in very quickly, walked me to the X-Ray Depart and I was Check-in without any problems. The X-Ray staff was very gentle with me throughout my Skeleton X-ray procedure. I was very pleased with USA's services!

My son Malachi was born here. He was also in the NICU. While I recovered I got to watch him via tv. I could see when he was awake or sucking his thumb. Beautiful, but right place, right time, and the blessings of the good Lord, interesting questions what did that preemie cost because preemies are really expensive. Neo Natials are both places of great joy, and sadness, hats off to all who work in them.
Probably sky high. Medical costs are so inflated; if a person goes to get checked for a small infection they may get a bill for 800 bucks like me, lol! Hopefully some super smart economics experts will figure out a fix for the whole system!
PR Budd yea, maybe something like health insurance... perhaps even with co-pays to limit having to reach a deductible for every little thing. The only thing you’d use your deductible for are your out of pocket costs, things not covered by insurance, co-pays, the monthly insurance costs, and of course major surgery &/or being admitted & having to stay in the hospital like for a baby or serious illness. Otherwise you go to your pcp & pay a co-pay, typically somewhere between $20 - $60. But not every plan offers this option, and when they do it’s often a tiny bit more expensive. However, just like car insurance you can & should shop around for the health insurance company/plan thats right for you. I have a small co-pay for doctors visits, medication, etc.
wow .i'm kind of speechless! i love this story & the video. my son was born 1 month early b/c i had the same condition. [pre eclampsia], which i never heard of before.. my son was small but not this small! 2 months early is shocking. so happy for the family. thanks for sharing your story.

What a beautiful post !! And I can’t wait to meet you and your son when we all go home ! ❤️🙏❤️👼
She is a beautiful baby. I especially love that picture of her in the graduation cap.
I'm 55 and I'm a pediatric nurse in Delaware. I love babies, so of course I'm crying now. So glad ur little one graduated!!!!!
The Lord is good. May he bless this little angel.
The lord does not exsist she is doing this herself. Bless her the little angel.

This whole hospital has a special place in my heart. From caring for my mother in their rehabilitation ward, to saving my only child's life in NICU.
Hats off to all the staff and others who put efforts to save this tiny life…
What a blessing! With God all things are possible, congrats to the parents, a beautiful little baby:)

I just love this story and i just love this baby and her family and the staff and my prayers are with them all.
She's AMAZING!! She doesn't have to be big to be powerful. Dynamite comes in small packages. Go out and do life big, little angel!! 💜

@@whoaretheyhiding798 I personally believe after my stay on Earth that there's more living to do after death. I disagree that Atheists are heartless. Maybe some are, but the few that I've met were kind and civil. Maybe God will accept them. I don't think God is about snubbing his own children lol!

This is precious! Those are some passionate nurses. You can just tell that they love what they do and I best everything into those little angels. The best part was her wearing the tiny graduate hat ❤️🥹
Makes me feel so much better about my grandson born 2/16/20 @ 2 lb 6 oz....same condition preeclampsia @ 28 weeks.... God bless this miracle child!
I used to work at this hospital when i did travel nursing. I absolutely loved it. It’s on the top of my list of hospitals in my career. I have worked at all 11 different hospitals in my 15 years of nursing.
Wow. I’ve passed this hospital many times traveling down the freeway and had no idea how amazing it is. What a little miracle.❤️
My son was born premature and died I prayed to The Lord Jesus and my son came back to life after 5 minutes. I've recorded in my first TH-cam video he said "ALL GOOD" in his 2 & a half months born. He's almost 2 years old now.
Alhamdulillah.....god saved your son...convey my love to your son please!!Very nice to know...may allah bless him...

Unbelievable...8.6 ozs. What a fighter this sweetie was. She will grow to do amazing things.

Thats why we fight abortion. These little babies are complete from conception!
Congratulations!

Bullshit
The staffs at USA are very respectful and kind. I came inside through the MRI door (lower level) and asked the MRI staff for help getting to X-Ray Department. They were able to direct me to the first level Check-In office. A janitor helped me to get to the elevators area. The staff at the Check-In office, after checking me in very quickly, walked me to the X-Ray Depart and I was Check-in without any problems. The X-Ray staff was very gentle with me throughout my Skeleton X-ray procedure. I was very pleased with USA's services!
Bless all who loved little Saybie into staying, growing, and thriving in her life.

My son Malachi was born here. He was also in the NICU. While I recovered I got to watch him via tv. I could see when he was awake or sucking his thumb. I spent so much time in the NICU the first 48 hours of his life, that my Dr said I needed rest. It's hard to not want to cry or yell when you think they may be hurting him.
@@StateStreetThatGreat there is a fix. It’s called Medicare For All
