- Acid Archives Diaries #22 - Blue Mountain Eagle vinyl lp 1970 Atco records
Dewey Martin from the Buffalo Springfield started the band using the very original the NEW Buffalo Springfield before Young and stills stopped him from using the name. He changed the band name to the Blue Mountain Eagle and cut their only lp (self titled 1970 album).
Singer songwriter Poncher stated there would have been a second album if the label backed the band however that clearly didn’t take place. The band splintered into a few new bands like 1974s Stepson for example. - เพลง
Thanks for the recommend. I dig it and checking it out now.
i've wanted that one for over decade. always loved the album art.
It’s pretty cheap on discogs. A VG+ for $36 I believe.
Did not know this was Dewey Martin's band all the times I've heard this, though I don't own. It is a solid record though
Thanks Jimmy. I am going to check out Stepson. I recognize Dewey Martin, but didn't know he wanted to use NEW Buffalo Springfield. - Chris
Well he certainly tried. lol. Young and stills weren’t using the name :) he he he
I have this album but didn’t know all of the back story. Nor did I know it is in the Acid Archives.
I was surprised it was in the book as well
Hey Crazy Jimmy look after your self we need your healthy dose of vinyl knowledge in the ill VC....bests....
Thanks for the kind words
Oh, man - if there's a complaint I even have about Buffalo Springfield is that they aren't hard-edged enough and not as acid involved as they could've been. Blue Mountain seems closer to the spirit of those late-era live B. Springfield videos where they crank it and jam out.
Spot on. BME are like a hard edged BF.
Hey, Jimmy, do you have an instagram account. I had a question for you
