  • When starting with modular you can’t avoid getting a case and power solution. In this video I show a new range of easy-to-expand cases from Sinusoda. They are an interesting option if you are starting with modular, or like a compact travel case. They are also very flexible and fun to customize. And you can expand the system in any way you want, all the way to a big studio case. At the end of the video I also talk about different power solutions, with pros and cons.

    Thank you, this is very useful given that really well thought-out modular rack cases have been rather thin on the ground.

    Hello everyone! This video is a bit of an exception, as I mostly focus on explaining patch ideas. But I met the friendly people of Sinusoda at superbooth 22, and I’m happy to support the launch of their product. Also have to admit I enjoyed working on a video with a few more ‘physical’ aspects :) - More info here: sinusoda.com

    Juice and Bubbles look more interesting to me than the cases, which I could see flex quite a bit during your build. I'm guessing once built, with modules in, it is quite a bit more sturdy but I just can't see myself shelling out hundreds of dollars for a flimsy plastic case; given how much money is going to be put inside it. Still, a very cool solution and it will be amazing for a lot of people!

    I've been adding moog 104 hps as I build my set up and have been using the tip top power option w/the boost adapter. Only now I'm on my fourth 104 and uzues...The -12V is finally starting to be an issue as I piece everything together. I wish these could be tilted like the Moog tiers and that I knew about this earlier. The power options seem much better.

    I've seen the specifications and it says that for the four pack with psu and its expander weights 3.6 kg. The same as some powered aluminium cases of the same size. Is this the correct weight of the case without modules? Because it seems to be more lightweight than aluminium ones...

    • @MonotrailTechTalk
      @MonotrailTechTalk  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there! It's clearly advertised as being plastic. If you want solid metal or wood, of course other options are better for you. This system is about light flexible frames that can be expanded, side mounted, customized etc, which the others are not. There are so many options these days you have to decide what you're looking for :)

    Chassis All Plastic ??? Thnx !!!

  • @flourfree2K
    @flourfree2K ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Not very solid, in my opinion (looks like cheapo 3D printed ABS/PLA).
    And - AS USUAL - cases are VERY EXPENSIVE (it's the biggest trouble when starting with a modular - even if you plan to buy only cheap Doepfer modules).
    The Behringer skiffs could be a viable option - but the case depth is too little for deep modules like certain Doepfer ones.
    The best solution, anyway, is DIY a robust and cheap wooden case, with rubber feet, treads, rails, busses and PSU(s).

    • @sinusoda
      @sinusoda ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It is very solid once the modules are screwed in, we took them as a part of the construction hence it can be very light. Its injection mold plastics in terms of materials.
