There were so many fun things I did in this video! Researching, theorizing, making jokes, spending way to FKING LONG MAKING THOSE STUPID ANIMATION PARTS etc. I wouldn't say this was the hardest video to make. (that would be the Aftermath one for me) But I will say it's definitely been stuck with me in the creation process the longest (since I already made the script last year). So I'm really happy to finally get this out for you guys XD
Honestly, this video would not have been possible without all of you. A year ago, the 3 MK11 SUCKS videos I posted did not do so well. Which is why I didn't even want to make the Kronika SUCKS video. However, you guys gave my MK videos so much love and support. To the point that I get comments asking me where the Kronika vid is on a daily basis. So thank you thank you thank you all so much for watching my videos! And I hope you all enjoyed this video too XD

Make Kano actually kill the Cages BY HAND INSTEAD OF LETTING THEM HAVE A CHANCE OF ESCAPE.
Give ANY reinforcements to ANY BATTLE IN MK11 AT ALL TO ENEMIES OF THE HERO GROUPS.
Also, she's stronger than Shinok and Cetrion so why doesn't she either team up with both of them for overwhelming force or clap everyone before they're given a chance to strategize by hand??? There is no reason for her to lose lmaoooo.

You know, if I was Kronika, I would have just Skarlet be the captain of the bad guy ship instead of Frost. In an ocean of blood, she'd probably be unstoppable.
That would be a cool fight too.
Of course, Kronika forgot that Skarlet existed, just like how the story writers forgot that she existed after writing Chapter 7.
I would also grab any Shao Kahn loyalist left, like the Naknadans, to defend the keep. I would then throw the worthless revenants onto the fleet to slow down Raiden by forming a blockade. Older versions of villains are put on the front to make them last, have Frost, Liu Kang, and Geras near the hourglass to protect it and keep the cyber lin kuei online as long as possible. Have Cetrion pop out once in a while and blast Raiden, and call back Sindel and Nightwolf. Lastly, If there is any potential ally left to be hired, do it. This should keep the good guys at bay for a long while, not even including the rewind powers of the hourglass.

@@Breakaway-ic5gj some help is better than no help, so it would be a good idea to keep on to them. Also, it only works if it's the past self that dies, so killing the Robin is won't really kill their past versions at the same time.
This is why overpowered villains suck, because they can kill heroes in seconds but chose not to.

Overpowered villains can work. It’s like a cat toying with a mouse before it eats it only for the mouse to escape.
Overconfidence is a trait a lot overpowered villains have and for good reason. The problem was that the MOMENT Raiden did something that she didn’t foresee, she should have stopped fucking around. And even then it would have been a nice detail for her to plainly acknowledge that she has never been wrong before so it worries her that she is now.
Her never being wrong would go againts the basic set up for the story. Also the arrogance excuse is one cheapest storytelling details someone can use right up there being crazy.

She was caught completely off guard because she was arrogant and again she’s literally a god of gods and had defeated Raiden so many times so that arrogance makes sense. No other outcome seemed to be possible.
When that proved wrong, they could have instead showed her not messing around after that instead of STILL being overly confident, which was a narrative mistake imo.
She really was unthreatening, and even her plans made no sense when you think about it, Voice Actress did a phenomenal job but the writing was against her the whole time

Literally all Kronika had to do was not make a scene. Nobody was at Shang Tsung's island. She could have gone there in secret, get the crown, then go back to the hourglass and NO ONE would have known. Plus, I am still not sure why she doesn't just keep the crown with her at all times...

Its precisely why MK is a worse story than any fighting game. Fighting games are usually designed to be nonsensical to begin with. Here it feels like the writers are actually proud of the shit they created.
The stories for the most part in SF for example aren't expanded canon but pieces you're allowed to intrepret. Not this. X and 11 are part 1 and part 2 of a large narrative where nothing makes absolutely no sense.

It's seriously hard to find any fictional villain who is equal parts strong and stupid, but on accident. As in, the writer's clearly want her to appear smart, strong, immortal...yet she is the biggest joke of all the MK bosses.

Kronika is a failure of a villain because she lost purely because of her own actions. Who can defeat her? Raiden and Liu Kang. Who defeated her? Past Raiden and past Liu Kang (plus revenant Liu Kang body) fusion. Who brought back past Raiden and past Liu Kang? Kronika. She would've won if she literally did nothing. Revenant Liu Kang is on her side and Dark Raiden is what she wants according to the scene where past Scorpion gets fucked by Shinnok's amulet in good Raiden hands.
Also if Liu Kang and Raiden were at each other throats in every previous timeline... What stopped Kronika then?
Also, the whole reason Raiden got the idea to fuse with Liu Kang was because Kronika went out of her way to explain how he could defeat her (Raiden and Liu Kang's combined strength is the key to defeating her), under the belief that Raiden already exhausted all of his options.
In fact, Kronika is so confident that she can't be defeated that she lets Liu Kang and Kung Lao go instead of capturing them and sending them to her keep at the end of Chapter 3.
She wants Raiden gone, not him being Dark Raiden

In my opinion she should’ve been relatively powerless thus giving her a reason to get allies, she also should’ve stopped dark Raiden before he cut off Shinnok’s head and recruited him instead of Liu Kang and Katana so that way they can join the good guys showing that they aren’t just mindless thugs.

Tiny edit of story: Raiden got to a point where he was so powerful due to the amulet and he killed almost everyone, bad guys and good guys then the elder gods realized this evilness, but they do nothing, but kronika who cares about the realms and feels guilty by sitting aside but she decides she will help the good guys, arrives help the good guys by bringing back past characters, that's just a start off they could have used
@Wparker6804 yooo that would be so interesting. Not only would that give more motive behind actions, but it would give revenants more of a purpose than punching bags. Also show some possible internal conflicts within Raiden. It would have been really interesting to see a character meant to defend and care for a realm, become the very thing that destroys it

underrated comment
The major reason why Kronika fails as a villain is because nothing about her makes any sense in terms of goals, actions, power and story.
Shao Kahn is a conqueror who wants to merge realms to fulfill his lust for power and to control the universe in a way and Shinnok wants to destroy realms because he is the Elder God of destruction and as such feels the need to do so and to spite his fellow gods for imprisoning him due to the latter trying to destroy the realms.
They are not the most complex characters for sure but at least we know who and what the characters are with how their personalities and motives are clear and easy to know.
Kronika meanwhile makes no sense for several reasons.
1. She constantly resets time because "it didn't go the way she wanted" which falls flat from the fact that we have no idea WHAT went wrong, why she keeps on resetting it and why she decided to arbitrarily bring back characters from the Outworld tournament? Like what would that accomplish if i might ask? And if she has reset time a lot then why isn't she much more prepared and have stronger advantage like having past incarnations of the heroes killed so it kills the current ones as well?
2. She is apparently so powerful that she ranks above not just the Elder Gods but also the ONE BEING of all things yet accomplishes very little and is defeated and killed by fighters who in terms of power are supposed to be way weaker than her? For someone who is supposed to be more powerful than an entity that would end the realms if awakened it's quite pathetic to see her get defeated by being who are meant to be weaker than her.
3. And lastly she is supposed to be part of a god like beings called "titans" who rank above the Elder Gods and whose children are Shinnok and Cetrion, yet this comes completely out-of-nowhere and raises the question of how NO ONE even knew of her, or even the Titans for that matter? Also her claiming to have reset timelines many times and claiming that Liu Kang and Raiden will always fight each other to the death makes no sense when not only was Raiden the one who reset time to prevent Shao Kahn from winning but he and Liu Kang never fought each other in the original timeline since Raiden was the one who resurrected Liu Kang in that zombie form.
Kronika is one of the most poorly written, inconsistent, illogical and nonsensical characters in the MK story where nothing about her makes any sense and having logic. She only exists for two reasons: needless and obnoxious nostalgia of the MK trilogy and to reset time YET AGAIN despite how little sense it makes to do from a meta view because the writers didn't know what to do next and just said "fuck it".

Even if he didn’t go back in time, the balance would of still been off since Shao Khan would of won the battle of Armageddon. Seems like she would of been screwed either way.
Yes, that's what wrong with her in the first time. Raiden brake ballance, when he sended message to the past, defeated Shao Kahn, and ONLY STARTED defeating all other evils, that might threaten Earthrealm. Immediately, Kronika appears. But where she's been, when Shao Kahn already absorbed Blaze's powers, killed everyone (including Shinnok), and was on his way to kill the last warrior (Raiden) and the Elder Gods. Isn't his actions brake ballance? Or it doesn't count and only Raiden here's a bad guy?
Imagine if in Mk11 in the opening scene we saw Onaga on his throne, ordering the execution of a titan. That would have set a serious tone.

I agree with you that Netherealm thought they were making a complicated morally grey character and instead ended up with a spoiled brat who changes things when reality isn't exactly her way.
Imagine being a God of time and still losing. You could kill literally everyone by stopping time, having geras clap everyone, if Raiden gets by, well just smack him a little bit because as we saw if Raiden and liu kang combine that's like their only chance to beat her. The only reason she keeps them alive is to keep the revedants to help out defend but if you just kill everyone there's no threat. Also how can Raiden reset a timeline, even a little but the God of time not reset. How.

Their full strength got their shit kicked in by a body builder conquer and his Frankenstein wife.
The saddest part is there is an easy fix to how OP she is.
Just make it so Kronika needs to be close to her hourglass to maintain her power, with the crown acting like a portable battery ,letting her access a fraction of the energy while she's away.
They could have had her kicking the hero's asses all on her own only for the crown to lose energy at the last minute. Now mostly powerless and neding to recharge the crown , she lies to Raiden and gathers an army and the plot proceeds roughly as you suggested. With Kronika actually having a reason to not just kick everybody's ass all on her own
As for her backstory , they could have used the fact that she has seen countless timelines destroyed cause evil and good weren't perfectly balanced and because she failed so many times she basically went insane. Something that's hinted by Geras's ending , where he tries to create a good timeline and fails countless times before basically giving up and letting events unfold on their own.
Or even better. Just have Cetrion sacrifice her powers to Liu kang. Seriously therr is NO WAY that a simple fusion between Raiden and Liu Kang is suddenly strong enough to beat titan that can literally erase the Elder Gods. It would make Cetrion a way more interesting and developed role in the story.
All in all NRS are just lazy writers(or rushed writers probably both)
Geras' ending should've been the one the original MK11 story should've ended with. Or Erron Black's. Or Kotal's. Or Kitana's. Or Jade's. Or Liu Kang's. Hell, even The Terminator(/T-800)'s or Spawn's. On second thought, a lot of the Arcade Endings ended on a more satisfying note, with the obvious exception of the villain victories (unless you were rooting for them).

Or we can just straight up fuse the two ideas, not much of a writer but hear me out:
We get to the final battle and Liu Kang has defeated Cetrion. She wonders why its possible when she is an actual Elder God ,this is when Liu Kang reveals that she is weakened because she is not on the side of light.
Kronika then turns to Liu Kang and says something along the lines of:
" Swaying a daughter against her own mother? It would seem twice the power results in half the honor "god of fire and lightning".... but no matter...."
Cetrion, suprised at the sheer cold attitude from Kronika then opposes her calling her out on how she has lost her way, how they BOTH have
And then Kronika responds with:
"Perhaps... but I am the only who can find it again. I have tried to save this universe time and time again reshaped it remade it....
You stand there, my daughter professing that you stand for light but in reality your but a shadow of a shadow. I have seen you wither and die more times than I can count but I have always brought you back.
THAT is why I remain calm....I have remade both of you a thousand times and I will remake you a thousand times more...such is the flow of time...unchangind and unending"
The two sides then fight with a weakened Liu Kang making zeor headway and a renewed Cetrion joining in and revealing that the hourglass chamber is a double edged sword.
Kronika's power here is infinite, but it is also a prison. She can't effect the outside world while she's in it. That's why she needs the crown.
So the plan becomes to take the half charged crown to trap her in the room, but it doesn't go well and Cetrion is forced to sacrifice herself to not only save Liu Kang from a fatal blow, but she also gives the last of her life force to fully restore him and transports him and Kronika far from the room, to the ruins of where the first MK game took place.
Now a fully healed god Liu Kang and Kronika with a half-charged crown have their final fight and throughout the fight Kronika tries to escape by teleporting, but every time she tries Liu Kang stops her and interrupts it halway through, resulting in the two landing in various locations throughout the franchise and with her desperately turning back time in the background , causing background flashbacks to all of the most iconic moments throughout the franchise
Then as Kronika tries one last time to get back to her chamber, Liu Kang breaks the crown just as the teleportation is about to complete resulting in them landing just a mile away from the chamber. With her powers depleted Kronika tries to climb to the chamber but slowly turns to dust.
But with the crown broken and with Liu Kang having no way to harness the power of the hourglass , we slowly lead into the events of Aftermath

It would also give her some credibility that she heavily lacked (like how the hell is she maintaining the elder god of light and virtue title for pulling all that shit in mk11). Also Cetrion would be like the only good guy character newly introduced 👌 like out of 4 of them I believe

-And Shao Khan (more or less because I still think they could’ve make him more menacing and powerful)

yeah true but keep in mind most people aren't buying these games for the story. Gameplay imo gets better every NRS game, and they make a ton of money off it, i do not think the franchise will die for a while.

One interesting thing in the arcade is how characters who pursue mortal goals with the hourglass succeed and characters that try to make everything perfect fail because of free will, I think the story would've benefited from exploring that concept instead of leaving it up to the arcade. Perhaps mk12 will explore it more with Liu kang as a god now that in the end of aftermath he wants to prepare kung lao for a conflict that he probably created.

I think Kronika is a perfectionist. She wants everything to go the way she wants it to go, just one single timeline with no unpredictability whatsoever.
Kronika doesn't want a perfection of timeline, she just want to resurrect her child, Shinnok.
She doesn't care about balance of evil and good because it's her only lame excuse to reset timeline in which Shinnok will be not killed by Raiden. That's why she said that she wants Raiden not to exist in the new Era because she knew Raiden will kill Shinnok again.

I feel like NRS actually have really high potential, which they have proven with the kind of original injustice series of games. They’re just using mortal kombat as a cash grab opportunity and injustice as an actually good game (no lie, personality wise Raiden is actually better in injustice as a dlc character than he is in MK as an actual character)

Fact is I consider Shinnok to be a step up because his boss fight caused players to rage, plus his boss design was no joke. As much as I liked seeing Fire God Liu Kang, I have even more trouble believing that two Liu Kangs and a Raiden fusion equals eldest of elder gods. Doesn't help that the Kronika boss fight SUCKS in comparison, and Aftermath makes her look worse.

Kronika is a godly arrogant artist. She treats people and events as mere tools to make her "art" (which can be the 50/50 good evil ideal). But this concept has been wasted bc NRS expects everyone to follow along their bs.
She should've been presented as this esoteric, mysterious, shady figure, that causes fear to even her own minions (like part 3 Dio). The feeling she'd strike is the fear that our lifes and everything we care for is under the whims of a greater entity that cares little to nothing about us. But even she has weaknesses, and she hides those well to make people think she is doing stuff at her own pleasure, but in reality some of her actions are due to these limitations,
Cetrion's arcade ending could've been relevant to the story, something like this: Cetrion was always doubting her mother, but was too afraid to raise a word against. In the final battle, Kronika is nearly winning, Cetrion attacks her. She has been helping the good guys all this time and that's why Kronika failed so many times, but as Kronika has finally perfected this attempt, Cetrion interferes directly, sacrificing herself, but weakning Kronika enough to be defeated by lesser beings.
Everything Kronika does feels like it's just a reason to have an excuse for a story mode, and nothing more.
This whole plot feels like I'm eating the best red meat in the world, but raw, directly from the freezer. Sorry for the giant rant, and i know there are many many more better ways to rewrite this mess, i tried to work with what we already had xd

Honestly, mortal kombat 11 had one of the worst stories in any game. The writing was all over the place. Some of the voice acting was god awful. I think this was the only game where the voice acting (Ronda Rousey) literally distracted me from the story. They had an awesome looking villain in kronika... yet they still felt the need to bring back shao Kahn. The freaking revenants were complete chumps and morons. So many continuity errors in the story as well. I love mortal kombat, but they really messed this game up. Also, not to mention that they released the game THREE times for 60 dollars.
Look mr Gonzalez, I agree that there were a few problems with mk 11 story. But mk x has the worst story mode, they can say that Cassie defeated shinok because of the cages powers all they want; but they cannot convince me that a teenager defeated a f***** elder god.
