Technically, when her realm was taken, she was a baby and was raised by Shao Kahn as an Outworlder who didn't even know her true father. But yeah, all the failures of Kitana, Jade, and Rain could make for a good SUCKS video if all NRS games are accounted!

Technically it might be true. Edenia lost only 10 times, because its how much Outworld need victories for merge.
Earthrealm had 9 defeats, then Great Kung Lao won and then another 9 defeats till this tournamnent, so Earthrealm lost 18 tournamnets, while Edenia lost only 10.

-Thought he was the last of his species
-Could have saved his species had he just met up with Khameleon
-Lived at the bottom of a pit for a while
-Slowly regressed to full lizard and went more and more insane
-Gets betrayed for no reason in his MK4 ending
-Gets used by Nitara as a pawn
-Gets used by Onaga as a vessel for an entire game
-Gets fucked over by Armageddon like everyone else
-Becomes a goon in MK9 with the unique trait of having no personality
-Still a goon in MKX despite having his personality back
-Gets completely erased with no notice in MK11’s story, in fact the fans thought he was dead
-Only major references in MK11 are a Scorpion skin and a look-alike getting gutted in The Pit
-Gets killed in MK ‘95 (albeit he keeps his dignity so I’m ok with it)
-Gets killed in Scorpion’s Revenge
-Gets killed in Conquest
-Gets replaced in that weird animated series
-Gets literally erased from existence in MK11’s ending

I still think that the only reason he wasn't in 11 is because NRS for some reason is afraid to turn non-human characters into good guys

@@StormX6 Isn't that a bit unfair? Yeah he's the poster boy for MK but for the longest time he actually wasn't given much respect in the actual story while Liu Kang is just the chosen hero from the start and just kept defeating Shao Khan over and over again.
Liu Kang was simply declared chosen one at a Shaolin temple and started winning constantly, while Scorpion is a veteran warrior.
It sort of felt right that Liu Kang felt like Kung Lao for his first tournament in at least one timeline.

In terms of recently, Scorpion’s presence has gotten annoying. He’s always on the front cover and in the trailers killing Subzero. In MKX, he really didn’t have a major role to add in the overarching story, so they had to burst in and kill Quan Chi even though they needed him alive to bring back the other revenants.
Lastly in this movie, Liu Kang didn’t really deserve the title of champion because Scorpion had to step in and save the day.
I’m cool with Scorpion becoming a more major character, but it’s getting annoying when others are undermined by him and it feels forced at times.
For some reason, people seem to think that just because an animated film has tons of gore, an R rating, and crazy action, it doesn't need to actually be good. It was like this for Justice League Dark: Apokolips War, and now for this film.
Y'all trippin. The movie was FIRE. Y'all get so stuck on the idea of cannon that y'all seem to forget that the stories lines have changed several times throughout the years. It's Mortal Kombat! Anybody can get it! been waiting on a movie where Scorpion was a main character since childhood, and they finally did, and did it well! They also gave so many other characters screen time, and set up the various stages for the fights. The movies in this series were done brilliantly!

@@justinberg3616We know it’s recognizable, but it’s like John Wick: the fight scenes are memorable sure, but you can’t just have that only be the plot of the *entire* movie. You need to actually have some respect for common sense and consistency and you can’t just add in whatever the fuck you want and expect *everyone* to be ok with it just because it’s a video game or just anything fictional in general. Not everything Mortal Kombat related is going to be good and even though it has decent reviews, like the original live action movies and the 2021 movie, it shows why you need to have respect for the source material and actual character personalities instead of just having inconsistent power levels, have many characters like Sonya written poorly, and why no series, even ones as big as Mortal Kombat, are perfect.
@@ghost19101 Let me just say that in all fairness, if you came to mortal kombat looking for a really good story, you should probably find another franchise. That's not me trying to gatekeep, that's just the truth. Yes mortal kombat has always had a story, but it was basically just an excuse for why there's a tournament where you can rip your opponents arms off and beat him to death with them at the end of the fights. The next few game's had their story modes explain why new characters were there. Each character had an arcade ending which filled in the broad strokes of their backstory. Really simple stuff. If you came to mortal kombat looking for Macbeth or The Odyssey, you're pretty much always gonna be disappointed. Hell the first three games are basically "evil bad guy wants to rule the earth but he needs to win a tournament where you die at the end of a fight if you lose. He loses the tournament so he makes another one, and he loses again so he just invades." Not the most original plotline, and not the most complex either. Scorpion's revenge has a plot, albeit messy, but its far from the first time mortal kombat had messy plotlines. Mortal Kombat 2011 and Mortal Kombat X both had storylines so convoluted that it is legitimately hard to follow sometimes. Mileena just inexplicably has Shinnok's amulet in kotal kahn's chapter in X, and if you didn't see the intro to Armageddon, you're probably pretty confused on who these people are, and/or how they're dead in 2011. Mortal Kombat has never had consistent tournament rules either. The one time we actually see a tournament is in Mortal Kombat 2011 and it has very stupid and inconsistent rules. More so than this movie. At least a battle royal has some structure to it. Last man standing wins.
It’s fascinating to me how almost every iteration of the MK story after the original timeline could just never seem to get all the things right.
*1995 Movie -* Scorpion and Sub-Zero are simply henchmen of Shang Tsung.
*Annihilation -* What’s NOT wrong with this movie?
*MK 2011 -* Goro and Kintaro appear like twice, and you don’t get to fight Motaro.
*Scorpion’s Revenge -* Bro they really killed Baraka, Reptile, and Kano like Jobbers. Also Shang Tsung not being a fighter or actually using his powers.
*2021 Movie -* There’s no Tournament… yet.

As a long-time MK fan, I was excited for this movie.
I guess I enjoyed the action too, obviously. First time seeing an animated MK that doesn't suck ass, or an MK movie with MK violence.
But I also had tons of problems with it-like, as you pointed out, how they just shat on Reptile like he was nothing. And Baraka, even (if that was even Baraka LOL. He's supposed to be Shao Kahn's *general.* Not some idiot with arm swords who dies from environmental hazards like a noob in MK Deception.)
The writing just made no sense.
Though I guess MK's plot being flawed at best is par for the course by this point.
The '95 movie is actually underrated. Like, the writing quality in that one was somehow still better than this one LOL. I don't know about you, but I thought the themes and story were pretty decent in that, actually.

I wanted a Scorpion movie, that shows what Scorpion did during the events of the first 4 games (because he learns what Quan Chi did at the end of MK4). Instead, I got an animated MK1 movie where the tournament part runs way too long and Scorpion gets his revenge way too soon.

Honestly, if any one should have defeated Goro, it's Kung Lao, not Liu Kang. It was his ancestor Goro defeated, and with how NRS has written him, it would have been way more interesting and made way more sense for him to avenge the Great Kung Lao.

Chronologically, they should have started with Sub-zero's original story. I think there is more potential for a better narrative by using the story arc of Bi-Han killing Hanzo and the LKGM hiring Quanchi to wipe out the Shirai Ruy as payment for subzero retrieving shinnok's amulet. It also makes no sense for Hanzo to be wearing yellow yet. He wore a yellow lin kuei uniform to mock their cowardice. They need to stop retconning Tobias' established lore. I seriously wish they would let me write a draft

The Baraka and Reptile "fights" is probably the thing i hate the most about this movie, considering how iconic and popular they are.
My intuition is telling me that because Baraka and Reptile are uncanny and have very pronounced, intimidating dentistry, studios refuse to write them with more respect than the respect a wild boar would get.

Y’know, as someone who enjoyed this movie, I liked this video. This establishes a different point of view of the movie and I deeply respect it. This animated movie is one of my favorite movies
The only thing I hate is that Reptile and Baraka pop up for one fight and either get killed or disappear.

I think the reason why they made scorpion kill Goro and completely ignore the original story is because the story focused mainly on scorpion, of course they would make Shang weak cause he doesn’t necessarily matter as much. The final boss for this movie is quan chi (not goro or Shang)

Why have they never showed off the Deadly Alliance when it comes to Scorpion’s arc? Have the young Shang portray Sub-Zero and murder Hanzo’s family and clan while Quan Chi is the architect of the plan to create a weapon such as Scorpion that Quan Chi can then manipulate to do his bidding or win tournaments or whatever. Of course you would have to come up with a plot line that gives something to Shang Tsung in return for his service to Quan Chi. Easy enough. This is a better option than Quan Chi shape shifting. That is Shang Tsung’s power and should be his alone.

Liu Kang there lacks any sort of personality and is just cliché pure soul, I wouldn't have cared if Goro or Scorpion killed him. You know none of the Cages are interesting, Scorpion is like a fanfic written by a fanboy. If they want a human character maybe like focus on Erron Black or Bi-Han getting his damn revenge. Goro, Baracka, Reptile, Noob Saibot (Even thought his name is stupid) and Erron Black are way cooler and more interesting than the main characters.

I kinda can. In the Malibu comics he was almost the chosen one who defeated Shao Kahn. I imagine if the series went on he might have been redeemed and become a hero.
Kano is a sort of character i like to call "badasshole" - a complete villain with TON of charisma who got his "don't care lol" mood to literally everyone (at least in games)
But he gets treated like a trash in every media he appears

If aftermath proves anything you can at least give people the chance too play some of the bad guys a still get a good story, plus make some of the older character be appealing by fixing their backstories more, like Noob for example or do something about Reptiles race. Who i believe you can do something with i with some good writing as i find the Saurian can have the potential for something.

...Wait somethings literally just occurred to me. Why did Scorpion even need to forfeit in the first place? According to the rules of Mortal Kombat, you fight for the realm you originate from, no exceptions. This is why Bo Rai Cho doesn't participate, because even if he fights on our team, him winning is counted as an Outworld victory since that's where he's from. Scorpion might hail from the Netherrealm, but he's made from Hanzo's soul, and this version kept his memories, so he's effectively Hanzo, if undead.
Hanzo is from Earthrealm. The moment he killed Goro, we won. Hell, Shang would never have declared him Champion, and would've likely fought himself as it was his last option...y'know like how the games work. So...what the hell, is what I suppose this can be boiled down to.
