Yeah the “come back when your story is complete” was a lot more shallow than I was hoping. Finding all the UFOs was cool, but then trying to get inside the bunker at the army base was also fun lmao

Yeah, there's a lot there that never led to anything of substance.
Spent so many hours back in the day meeting up with people in GTA online to try and figure it out. Made for some great memories, but it was always frustrating that it was all a wild goose chase in the end.
Alot of the mural is pointing to the events that happened in the doomsday heist.
DLCs that where never released but sorta kinda in online updates 😅
It's never going to be solved because of GTAO, they scrapped the payoff that would have been in the story mode DLC, but was refitted into GTAO.
Also worth mentioning is that Mount Chiliad is likely inspired by the real-life Mount Shasta, which itself has a wide number of conspiracy theories buzzing around it.
Fun fact: in the most recent GTA Online DLC (San Andreas Mercenereries) in one of the LSA operations called Surgical Strike if you get the correct secondary task it's revealed that Merrywheather Security are technically the ones behind the UFOs as actual UFO blueprints can be found.
Charlie Reed would even comment on this by saying something along the lines of: "The UFOs that people have been seeing over the desert are probably these assholes" (referencing past GTAO Halloween events).

gta 6 is happening well before 2028 with the december trailer and the fact that gta 6 was in development since 2014 so 6 will most likely be here before 2028 and especially since online is coming to an end THANK GOD online was their biggest mistake it shouldvde been all singleplayer instead

Oh man where to start. I literally spent years trying to figure out the chiliad mystery. I was deeply involved with the subreddit and everything. 100% the game on PS3 (I’m alright don’t worry). But man this was a lot of fun…even if not much came from it, the community and endless nights hunting for stuff is forever a part of me.
Man, the nostalgia I remember when gta online first launched the servers was crashing because of the queue. 😂
it's not over, NO ONE ever even got the mystery started, they just got to the door and said, well! that's it!
I remember feeling angry when Rockstar decided to add the jet pack in a dlc like people didn’t spend years trying to find it in the game. I always thought the chiliad mystery was just a mural to obtain said jet pack lol

The mural has a jet pack on it, and at the altruist camp, there is a rock where a cult member is standing, and on his rock, the shadow that appears on the rock is the exact same as the jet pack on the mural. Either they didn’t think we would look there and notice and they just never finished the mystery, or there is something still not found which would be near impossible given the amount of mods and code breaking that has been done. The game has been analyzed to hell and back.
Once Doomsday released I was satisfied that this was "solved". It was CLEARLY a story-mode story that was tweaked and repurposed for GTAO...right down to being inside the mountain and finishing with the jetpack. I am pretty sure those bottom 3 glyphs represent 3 planned story expansions, we never got the egg or ufo ones, but I suspect the egg one had to do with zombies and the ufo one an alien themed dlc. It's a shame that with GTA5 Rockstar who is unquestionably one of the best developers of story expansion content completely abandoned the practice for both GTA and RDR2. I mean GTAO really screwed this company up and I know it isnt going to happen but a return to form with GTA6 would be nice

I can imagine either it’s a mystery Rockstar intentionally left vague or had more planned as part of single player DLC before scrapping it to focus on the money printer that is GTA Online!
That’s also my consensus. The line up of single player DLC could’ve been immense and amazing, but GTA Online is just too lucrative.

This is true. There were meant to be three single player dlcs.
1. Trevor would have been an IAA Agent and robbed the casino.
2. Undead Nightmare but GTA with Michael.
3. A DLC involving Franklin and UFO’s. This one would most likely have solved the Chilliad mystery.

And there's no evidence either that the chiliad mystery was part of the Trevor DLC apart from the jetpack appearing in it
The 5 x's in the boxes are the 5 glyphs that's around the mountain, and the jetpack man symbol was the shadow of the jetpack man that appears on the rock at the altruist camp, and the spaceship symbol was the under water spaceship, and the lightning and cracked egg that's connected to the UFO meant that at the end of the game you get the Easter Egg Ufo if it's raining. i thought the mural was just pointing you towards different Easter Eggs

Just a correction but FIB agents in the desert are only on oldgen and not nextgen version, they were removed after the SP DLC was scrapped (and originally was a tease for it)
Either Rockstar scrapped any plans they had for this or everyone is still missing something which is wild to think about
there have been cases where players find new things still years after game is released so even though it's really low chance, i would believe the "no one found it yet" theory

Missing something for sure...i remember switching from ps3 to 4 and seeing billboards that i don't remember seeing. The super colorful one that has words goong round and round in a square.
They scrapped it for sure considering the dlcs being dropped by rockstar and assets from the base game being repurposed for gtao cash cow.

I’ve always loved the fact that each in house developed Rockstar game was connected and loosely tied to the same universe. I think it’s the only example in video games I can think of that does that.
As for the myths and legends that exist in their worlds, it’s what makes a Rockstar open world so unique and interesting. Among other things of course but the myths keep these open worlds alive and intriguing for years. I almost don’t want it to be solved because the Chiliad mystery has been their best kept secret for 10 YEARS! Can’t wait for more mystery and myths in GTA 6.
Then GTAV comes out being in an alternate universe

I always thought it was a cryptic foreshadowing towards the planned single player dlc, and everything was good, until the shark cards attacked
I literally lived on the GTA Fourms back when this was RED HOT. I remember everyone trying everything they can think of, such coordination and new things found every time I’d refresh the page, then it led to nothing and i lost interest. Man those were fun times
I still believe there could be something. Everything Ma'am Nazar says, the textile mural, the underwater UFO glow, the spider webs, the weird art everywhere, the cow that walks uphill in grapevine, the alien glyphs, the altruist box, so much weird stuff with the sun. This stupid mystery has consumed so much of my time I refuse to accept it's over.
It's going to be incredibly fun hearing all the myths and finding all the new secrets and easter eggs in the next GTA
Don't forget that the Easter Egg got a direct reference by Dax in the Drug Wars update. So it seems that Rockstar haven't forgotten about that at all. Also you should've looked at the Madam Nazaar Easter Egg. Very weirdly, after she gives you the full number to call and if you call her from Mount Chiliad, her music will keep playing indefinitely

The 100% completion theory is probably the most solid one
I always felt that the crack in the egg related to ‘Old Man’s Crack’, which is a path that leads down from the top of the mountain. And that you had to make your way down the path once 100% completed and at the right time etc (denoted by the 5 glyph’s)

Maybe facility based missions/ heist, where you have to work for the government again or possibly even some sort of alien invasion.

Chillad mountain and the bo2 tranzit cut content are the two craziest easter egg hunts in this era of gaming. Had us all scrambling for clues and theories, was so fun

Nobody really seems to hear the ghosts or whatever at the bottom of the mountain at night behind the motel by the lumberjack
This reminds me of a mindset the developers of Tunic, another game with a lot of cryptic mysteries, had. "Secrets for nobody" is a phrase they told themselves when adding mysteries to the game- lots of things were added in without the expectations that players would be able to grasp it. It isn't FOR them to grasp. It's for nobody.
I think the GTA devs might have had the same mindset. There could be a strung together narrative Rockstar had in mind when creating everything- there could be a loose string of logic connecting everything, there could even be more mysteries to uncover.
But it's all been put together in a way that, to the player, makes no sense. Because it's not meant to make sense to the player- they're not making it for them to understand.
That's what makes a mystery interesting, the fact it IS a mystery. The idea that there's SOMETHING you're missing, your mind wandering over all of the possibilities as you try to figure out what fits best.

When you showed the 3 characters and ppl think the symbols relate to the characters another reason for Michael being the UFO is also worth noting his mission where he is abducted by aliens and falls from the sky. Also the unreleased Dlc you were talking about with Aliens & zombies maybe being what they wanted it to eventually be could actually be true & likely considering in main game you can see files in Lesters house relating to zombies

In the first, first dose cutseen dax asked you if you know anything about the eggs on Mount chilliad and then mentions it in a later first dose mission as well saying that he should go check it out one day
from what i know of 21:40 the whole scientist dudes and agents where there since ps3 cause I've visited them several times to get a fib buffalo and i think it was related to the cut storymode DLC involving trevor which turned into doomsday
San Andreas was the first time i seen myths in videogames really have a community and discussion on what might be an easter egg or not. I'm not the only 1 that thought the bigfoot rumors were sus because the manual mentioned Bigfoot in the Special Thnaks section. i'm not the only 1 that spent hours sneaking through the woods trying to find Bigfoot or ghosts or piggsy from manhunt.
When you said something about the drawing of the eye and the road looking thing, it made ne remember that there's a tunnel in the middle of the mountain and has the word T1 and T2, which is the same thing that's on the FIB rooftop building

Hell yeah new video I love these game mystery videos you’ve made they’re always great and this one has always been interesting to me
These kinds of secrets and Myths really capture peoples imaginations. Particularly in Open World games. Developers should definitely lean WAYYY more into them in future Open World Titles. It would be really cool and Kinda Spooky to actually have secret hidden 'boss fights' with Mythical creatures like Loch Ness Monster, Aliens, Megalodon Shark or other gigantic beasts. I know that R* probably did do just that with GTA V more than any other game they've done up until this point (besides Red Dead, which has always nailed it when it comes to mythical encounters) But I mean like, they should actually truly double down on these encounters and secrets. I'm talking actual encounters with big bads that have big health bars at the bottom of the screen or even just unbeatable spooky enemies like vampires or ghosts that physically appear and one-shot the player. And anyone who thinks it doesnt fit as GTA is more grounded and realistic wont say that after a week of playing GTA Online in 2023😆Or just actually be able to confront the serial k*llers they hint at in the the in-game lore. Thats part of the real fun about Open world games anyway. The Idea that you never really know whats out there or what you will find.
Honestly the Loch Ness monster is one of the most common Easter eggs at this point, & I kind of love it. In the beta version of Watch Dogs, there is a secret Loch Ness monster that can occasionally be seen in the open waters, if you approach it it's supposed to dive back down but because the game was in beta the code breaks & it just sits there usually. This actually got cut from the final version so it's really interesting. Another is in GTA Online during the Cayo Perico scouting setup. Occasionally if you look out into the water nearby you can see the Loch Ness monster for a brief moment before it dives down. You can't interact with it but still a great Easter egg. Probably my favourite eggs related to mythological creatures is the megalodon Easter eggs in Battlefield. Complicated setup typically but you get a tremendous Easter egg, specifically the one in Battlefield 4 where the Megalodon jumps over a sinking aircraft carrier.
Closest thing I can think of is the vampire from rdr2 which rewarded you for finding the writings and then left you doubting if he was a real vampire or not
i think the government using the ufo and the religion in gta is a reference to the project blue beam theory

Here’s a little tidbit that’ll blow your mind, the casino painting you can buy that has Bigfoot,the ghost,the beast, the alien and the zombie, it’s referencing a game called MDK 2 from Sega, also, there are 3 eggs on mt chiliad that only I have found, like the ones talked about on the new acid thing online… so NO! there's also a rock that a certain time of the day, it looks like one of the aliens from the game MDK 2
I dont know what video i saw but i remember someone saying that there were 3 cut dlc. One of them was Michael surviving a zombie apocalypse, another was Franklin dealing with a UFO invasion and Trevor joining the IAA. I think the symbols represents the cut dlc. The ufo and jet pack are easy to connect but the egg idk. Maybe it mean something is released that cause the zombie apocalypse?
You got Michael's & Franklin's mixed up. Michael was going to endure an alien invasion & Franklin a zombie apocalypse.
They repurposed that into GTA Online on most Major Update
I think it has to do with finding all of the ufos. The egg is the underwater one in paleto bay, the ufo is the one above hippy camp and the jetpack is the one above fort zancude becausd the jetpack is found in area 69. But all of those lead up to the one above the mountain
Imagine Rockstar were developing an alien game with these aliens as either protagonists or enemies and this was all just *INSANE* marketing 😂

Now that the GTA VI trailer has been released and we know that the map is twice as big as GTA V, I cant wait to see the easter eggs and mysteries that it brings

There's obviously a story in all of it, it was written long ago by Rockstar, that was likely meant for story mode but after the success of Online, they focused on breaking up all the ideas they had to fit the online, and even the Ghosts Exposed etc. feels like things they wrote even before GTA5 came out.

I think what it is, is that there are five mysteries that have to be solved and they may have to be done in a certain order, like we have the Sasquatch mystery, the infinity killer and I’m guessing as time goes on rockstar will give more clues to the other three

After The Egg mission in Gta O around Christmas time you can go to the bar and drink till you pass out and you have a chance of spawning on mount chiliad while a ufo flys off and youll have the ufo tattoo. in my opion its the hardest thing to get in gta O. if you look up gta ufo tattoo youll get videos of the prosses

Also bigfoot didn't kill the hunter, it's very clearly implied it's the beast you're hunting that did it. The Bigfoot in the golden peyote plant highs 9in my theory) is the same "Last One" (mission name makes sense now as I type this lol, no joke) Bigfoot in Undead Nightmare you can kill or let live. Implying we let it live in Undead Nightmare. And mixed with my theory, the hunter wasn't the only thing that Mandelaed over as well, Bigfoot too.
Also Niko, Johnny, Luis, John & Arthur are all characters that can make a species of animal either completely extinct or near extinct. Luis & Johnny collectively kill 100 Seagulls, Niko kills 200 pigeons, John can make the Buffalo and Bigfoots go extinct and Arthur (or John, but their in the main map and it's Arthur's story so I associate like 95% of 100% in RDR 2 to Arthur, John just finishing it up and RDR 1 being his story) can end the Carolina Parakeet. Interesting since in the building a house section of the story he's represented as a Blue Jay watching, RDR 2 has a heavy influence of native American animal spiritualism/representation and GTA 5 has you literally turning into animals. And "Bigfoot" is in RDR 2 hidden behind a rock cave and can only be talked to after examining 30 animals...
Might be high/schizo brained, but I'm piecing it together... Maybe. At least for my own headcanon it's fun.

my personal theory that does not go too much out of logic is that it was meant to be a teaser for an update that ended up being scrapped and mostly reused for GTA online. And that the eye in the middle is a poorly drawn UFO that hints at the easter egg where if you 100% the game and visit mount chilliad at a specific time an UFO appears
and, solidifying my theory the UFO drawign above a mount chilliad drawing and another above a moon and 3 marks indicate that it had to be done at night, in 3:00, like mentioned by you

Imagine last Update before gta 6 would be around alien Invasion And they destroy Los Santos. But man I remember all the nights I spent going around with that weird alien car omega gives you and use horn to see something calls for me. nowadays I don't play gta online but everytime they release a big Update I go and check the mountain to see if something is different.

You know, I feel like Rockstar just put in these mysteries as a way to put in notes, like let's say you're a writer and you're writing down your plot, and you write down some notes to make sure you won't forget them for future references, maybe this is what Rockstar is doing, they're writing down notes in a form of a mystery, and slowly, they use those notes to make some updates to the game, or to make dlcs, hence why every new update has been an extra clue to the mystery
I did run across the egg recovery during a winter bunker resupply mission near the fort. When I approached the vehicle, I was driving, it stopped on its own. I retrieved the egg, and the aliens appeared. I shot, and they disappeared. I returned to my vehicle it started the lights came on and it blew the horn.
Someone told me there is a deep underground base under the mountain that goes down several levels.

I think it's quite likely that the mystery was planned to be explained/paid off in a single player DLC. But of course we never got those, so they just made the odd reference to them in some online updates instead.
When i first saw the markings at the top of the Mount Chilad I just assumed it was a twin peaks reference.

Would the bunker/shaft you fly out of when you get the jetpack in doomsday heist be an actual location on the mount chiliad mural?
Hear me out. What if the 3 symbols at the bottom of the mural are :
- UFO : you need to complete the game at 100%
- Egg : you need to complete the bunker mission with the alien egg
- Jetpack : you have to complete the doomsday heist mission (in which you use the jetpack)
And maybe after that the mystery will be solved ?

The the Xs mean the options you chose for each heists in story mode like the jewelry store has a giant red X in the background for option Bs picture more backup on this is it you go directly south from mount chilliad you will find a mural that tells you the game needs to be played in that order

If I had the time and talent to create a vid, I would, but here's my contribution: I think that GTA Online Crew Colors are at play and that there is an easter egg still waiting - The "eye/3AM/crescent moon glyph" at the Hippy Camp, Having a Crew Color selected, using the WOW Signal (Which, strangely, you cannot get to "stick" in the color selector now, but I have had it active in the past), Having Crew Members on Chiliad, during a lightning storm...There are power wires coming from the Chiliad model at the camp, to the "eye/3AM/crescent moon glyph" so it seems to be demonstrating something needs to happen on the mountain at the same time as on the platform at the camp. I'm convinced it is solvable Online only, with a crew having control or positioning with each of the boxes shown on the wall at the top of the mountain - 7-8 crewmates, perfectly positioned, perfectly timed. The funny thing is, 99% of anyone still interested in solving this, has basically zero friends, or at least, no where near "7-8 crew members" that could all actually work together and accomplish this challenge. So, good luck, somebody else! I'm among the 99%. Had a great crew 5 years ago...Stupid adulting...
What if instead of returning the egg to omega you take it to mount chiliad using the jetpack or opressor mk 2? Maybe to one of the symbols on the side of the mountain.
