- Finally time to put this food truck back together again! The GM 6.2 Diesel isn't the sexiest engine option out there but it's a tried and true answer for work truck service. All the machine work has been completed by Mike at M&M Head Service, and our newly rebuild 4L80E transmission is done at Vickers. Nothing left to do but to do it!
With a quarter of a million miles on it this old bread/chip truck has seen a LOT of life and some very questionable repair work in the past. This job is essentially what you would consider a "repower" just with the original components. It's certainly not quick or easy but once this is all complete she SHOULD be good to go for another quarter million miles or more ... and that's a whole lot of selling chicken and cheese burgers!

Man that's a ton of work for that old engine. Did you guys think about a Cummins swap? I know alot of guys get bread trucks bc they have a 6bt in them some even a 24valve. They buy the truck for the engines to convert to marine use in there work boats. Then send the truck to scrap yard and get a few bucks.
