    If the Nespresso had more variety based on price and flavors then it would be a go. But I find day to day Keurig is the true winner, you can get a strong cup from brands like Starbucks and peets and a large variety of inexpensive and higher end brands for Keurig, not to mention you can make larger cup sizes with the Keurig and there’s a nearly limitless amount of flavor choices for Keurig. Basically Nespresso is greater towards specialty coffee and those who like darker roasts and don’t mind the added cost. For everyone else Keurig is an excellent choice.

      I agree . For people who like a dark robust coffee or drink a lot of espresso drinks, nespresso may be it,
      Personally I prefer a medium roast, love the variety and cost per unit, love flavoured blends, and often use the hot water feature. Rarely make espresso. When I do I use a. $10 moka pot.

      You really just don't get a strong cup of coffee from Keurig. I used to brew two pods per single cup to generate a full flavored cup of coffee. Looking at it from that perspective, pods are far more expensive than the Nespresso. This has nothing to do with roast or cup brand... Anyone who brews a full cup of coffee on a Keurig will notice that the second half of the drip is predominantly water. The difference of "drip" and "forced/pressed" so to speak make a massive difference when it comes to pods that contain maybe a single tablespoon of grounds. There are just people that like weaker coffee, and some people who enjoy full bodied coffee. Those who genuinely enjoy the actual flavor of coffee should go for the Nespresso.

    I think Nespresso OL (original line) machines a worth to mention. They use less expensive pods about 50 - 80 cents per cup which is comparable with K-cups. They also brew coffee with water pressure (instead of rotation) which is better in my opinion and close enough to real espresso. And since they are not "smart" they allow you to choose a cup size and in some cases even temperature.
    The only reason why Nespresso made new Vertuo machines is because the patent for original Nespresso pods is expired 10 years ago and now everyone can make a machine and capsules.

    I own both a Keurig and a Nespresso. I’m on my second Keurig to date within 2 years. There are pros and cons to both- for everyday use I like the variety and value of Keurig coffee pods but for a late morning or afternoon coffee I love what the Nespresso brings to the table for an overall coffee drinking experience. The Nespresso has gained popularity lately due in part to the price point coming down making it more affordable to the average consumer. I found mine at an HSN outlet store for $50. The cost of the Nespresso pods are a drawback, but it’s still a fraction of the cost of a coffee shop. I haven’t tried the foils or silicone caps to reuse the pods, and glad to see it works well. I’ve read mixed reviews on that.
    We love your reviews - keep them coming!!

    We went with the Keurig only because the Nespresso’s won’t brew a larger size than that 7 oz. Cup. I’m not really a fan of Keurig because their machines don’t last (but I’ve heard the Nespresso’s don’t last either because they leak). So the larger size cups available through K-pods along with the greater variety and lower cost of the pods means we’ll stick with the Keurig machine… FOR NOW. We may switch to a Cuisinart K-pod brewer this coming year.

    I've used a Keurig now for about 15 years, but before that I had a Coffee Machine I loved, I don't remember the name but it was red, the coffee poured out in 2 streams instead of one, and I think the slogan was: 'the coffee with the frothy layer', and the pods were just a thin filter disc shape. This Nespresso review reminds me of that machine!

    thank you for this excellent comparison review. i know you liked the coffee from the 4 cup cuisinart. i have had 2 keurigs burn out. it sparks & then stops working. if the nespressos dont last long either, thats no good. have you heard any complaints about the DCC-450 4 cup cuisinart & how would you compare the coffee from this cuisinart to the other two coffee machines? does the coffee from the cuisinart taste about the same or even stronger or weaker compared to the keurig & nespressor? thank you very much for any info. you can give me.

    • @JustADad
      @JustADad  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 4 cup Cuisinart is a very reliable coffee maker. It has no moving parts and you are in control of the coffee strength. You can add a little more ground coffee. also you can grind you own coffee for an amazing taste. its just a little more work cleaning up and it takes about 5 min to brew a pot.

    We have Keurig and Nespresso original pod. One family member likes the weaker drip coffee flavor of the Keurig and two family members like the stronger with crema espresso flavor of Nespresso. That's where the Instant Pod 3-1 machine came in that can do both. It died, pump failure, after 2 years, but the Instant Pod made the "best, IMO" k-kup coffee as it appeared to use the same high pressure pump as the Nespresso side. The Keurig coffee drinker no longer lives in our home so back to the Nespresso only machine, although I did have to pick up an $8 thriftstore K90 so that I can use up our inventory of k-kups. My first thriftstore $9 K-75 was a failure even after a descaling, cleaning then removing the check valve, needle cleaning, failed air pump (which I could live with the dripping for the few hundred k-kups that I need to use up), but just would not pump water through the k-kup although was ok passing water through an empty machine. It sent most of the water back to the reservoir. There are a lot of providers of Nespresso original pods coffee for as low as 35 cents/pod. I don't really want to enter the Vertuo eco-system so will still look for a quality Nespresso original pod machine when needed and use Amazon as my original pod supplier.

    Great video! I’ve been using Nespresso original line for 15 years to brew espresso. When Vertuoline came out in 2014, I finally switched from keurig to Nespresso for coffee. Hands down, Keurig coffee tastes way to diluted to me now, compared to the rich flavor profile of Nespresso. The cost is definitely higher than Keurig. But I prefer brewing with recyclable aluminum pods than non recyclable K-Cups which mostly are not BPA free. The bar code on the pods control how much water, how much heat and time of the brew. It’s such an easy system. The NEXT machine is not my favorite. It’s nosier too. Try the Eluvo or the VertuoPlus machines. They are built much better. Thanks for the review! Subscribed!

I’ll have a Nespresso brew every now and them. Their selection is so limited since you do mostly have to buy from them and then there’s the infamous “crema” that I absolutely HATE! Keurig has so much of a selection and you can buy them at local supermarkets. I’m not entirely sold on Nespresso.

      I have a Nespresso. I bought it for a quicker cup of coffee when pressed for time rather than using my regular espresso machine. You’re right about everything. It took me a while to find a coffee I liked and shortly after I did, it was discontinued. I don’t like the so-called crema. It’s overkill and nothing like what you’d get with a regular espresso machine. I’ve used it over time sparingly but have now ordered the Keurig Supreme Plus but after reading customer reviews, I hope it lasts longer than some have stated.

    I had a very early model Keurig and gave me plenty of problems mechanically. I also didn’t much like what was available back then in terms of flavors and after while opted for a Nespresso. The Nespresso seemed fine when I tried a sample at the store but actually took a while to find a pod I liked. Unfortunately, some time after that, the flavor was discontinued. Most Nespresso flavors are strong and don’t much care for them. The other con is that while when I initially ordered pods on line they would be delivered the next day, now it’s regular shipping and have to wait at least a week to receive them. Long story short, I bought a good Italian espresso machine that I’ve had for years and is the best. However, because I and other family members are sometimes in a hurry and would like something quick, I’m looking at the Keurig again. Pods are available at any supermarket and I would think with the variety today, I’ll find something that’s acceptable. Nespresso makes it look fancy with all the crema but quite frankly, that’s where all the bitterness is and can do without it. As a matter of fact, I skim it off the coffees from my espresso machine. So I’m hoping that some improvements have been made since my first Keurig. I ordered the Keurig K Supremo.

    Hi, first, thank you so much for what you do! Second, I want the full pot, my son wants the single serve pod, and Im limited on space, so im looking at the Keurig K Duo plus. Based on reviews and comments, there seems to be a consistent issue where it stops working 3-6 weeks based on the reviews, customer service seems inconsistent (great for some, horrible for others.) I havent seen any videos on this one, so its hard to know if there is a comparable alternative for around the same price, or a video on how to fix the issue. Can you please help me by telling me more about the unit, and either: how/if i can get better/best Keurig or Keurig customer service, how to fix the apparent consistent issue, or recommend a Keurig or other brand like it, but with better quality and/or customer service? Sounds like a lot, but honestly, i really just appreciate any help you can provide.

    • @JustADad
      @JustADad  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great Question!!! I have several videos on the K Duo Plus, its a great coffee maker and I have not had any problems with mine. I have called Keurig about 3 times with other problems on Keurig's and If you talk to someone they seem very easy and good to deal with. th-cam.com/video/J9VwkmJnIZQ/w-d-xo.html
      I also pick my favorite dual brew coffee maker in this video th-cam.com/video/NY07sm_EelU/w-d-xo.html
      The dual coffee makers all require a pump of some sort either for the kcup side or some for both. that is the issue, anytime you have moving parts with a control board you will have some problems. A traditional coffee maker has not moving parts, it just heats the water and brews it over the coffee grounds. Keep me poste how it goes?

    • @Victoria-bl4tw

      Reviews make me crazy. I ordered the Keurig Supreme Plus after watching mostly positive expert videos. While waiting for delivery, I am continuing to read customer reviews and now disappointed by the large number of negative reviews with it breaking down and people having to make exchange after exchange. One person even said not to fool ourselves into thinking that we’ll get lucky with our unit because they all break down very short term. It also seems that the water temperature selection does not really work well. I was amazed that a vendor boasted that the machine brews at over 200°. This, based on every review I’ve seen, is not true. Bottom line may be that production and quality control has seriously gone south since the first models. I was excited to order this but now I’m very apprehensive. I hope you can get the help you need.

    Nespresso is 10x better if you appreciate good coffee... but the downside is the only nespresso pods available are from them and the only place i found them was online. So no just picking some up while you're getting groceries. And i wish there was a better option for using your own coffee. I have yet to find the perfect machine to just make my one tumbler of coffee in the morning and go. All the ones that allow your own grounds make watered down coffee like the k cups. I hate strong coffe. I only drink light roast. So nespresso is not for me. Too expensive for a not good cup of coffee for me.

    I own both machines and believe that Nespresso makes a much tastier coffee . The concern however with Nespresso are the aluminum pods, which like the soda cans, can cause metal poisoning, but the Keurig plastic pods are of the also a huge health concern, as plastics have been demonstrated to be estrogen disruptors, especially when heated. What I find best is my good old DeLongi Magnifica machine that grinds the beans fresh for each cup. I use organic coffee beans and double filtered water and absolutely love it!

    The Keurig SMART is only smart if you have a 2.4GHz wireless network. If you have 5GHz then the Keurig is as dumb as a bag of rocks.
