Those handheld PI detectors are a bit of a mixed blessing. Will probably pick up gold chains a minelab Excalibur 2 might miss but without any discretion your going to be finding so much junk in trashy waterways

Sigurd vårdal - Good question. The iKing 750 signals the presence of metal via two main indicators. Firstly, there is a LED light on the head of the detector which flashes when the device gets close to a metal object and secondly, the handle has an inbuilt vibration mechanism which pulses in the user’s hand. Given that this is a waterproof device, there is no set audio signal for the iKing, however, the sound of the vibrating handle can be distinctly heard underwater (similar to a phone vibrating on a bench top). Tom Papworth I go to Tallebudgera Creek and the Seaway quite a bit. I’m keen to dive tweed. Also I’ve been looking at those underwater metal detectors too! I’ve seen a Vibra-Tech(?) one but it’s about $100 more and I’m wondering if the Pi-King one is worth it or if I should spend the extra $??
Graham Reynolds - Awesome. I’m keen to hit up the Seaway sometime soon, I’ll keep you in the loop (can’t do this weekend unfortunately). In terms of metal detectors, I honestly believe that there is no real difference between the brandings of this particular device. I’ve had people try to tell me that mine is a ‘cheap rip-off version’ of the Vibra Tector, but having personally used both brands, I would confidently say that you aren’t going to notice a difference between them (TBH they most probably come out of the same factory). The important thing to understand is that both of these are only basic Pulse Induction detectors (neither are high-end devices) and at the end of the day you can clearly see that mine is getting results.
