The title of this video is a bit misleading. It says "best FREE" but then You install pro-version and talk about it almost through the whole video just mentioning every now and then that this and that might not be in the free/standard version. I somehow understand the advertising side but there could be a separate video for free and pro versions. Thanks anyway for good videos.
I can see where you're coming from, but like I said, check comparison page and if you find a feature you need, then you will need to buy the software, I need some of them features. But the Standard and Pro look the same and review would be the same. If I was showing backing up with a feature that don't exist in free version, then I could see you're point. Just doing a overview of the software. Link in video description is FREE.

You have to watch the whole video, like I said, if you want free backup software and it does everything you want it to do, then you're ok, check the comparisons page and if it has some feature missing what you want to use, then buy the software. Simple. The software standard and pro are the same with some added features, that's all. I clearly state in the video that some of these features are not in free version. It backs up you're PC for free. The link in video description is for free software. Hope this clears it up.
Really nice overview of this software. I have always used the default Windows tools until Windows 10 let me down this month. I would be interested in seeing a video of a system image restore on a drive where the system partition has been deleted. Windows Repair has a 100% failure rate when I try it so I'm looking at third party options now. I don't really want to test killing a system partition to see if I can recover it using this though. It's a little out of my comfort zone.
Interested to see how/why to use the UEFI/EFI Restore and Dissimilar Hardware Restore options Does UEFI/EFI restore auto fix boot problems if you delete a Linux partition without deleting the grub data? And does Dissimilar Hardware Restore mean it will help to restore a drives system and data to a different computer (which may need different drivers and has different motherboard which windows OEM versions may not normally work on?) than the data was originally installed on?
Thanks for a nice video. I have a 3TB folder that I would like to backup every month to 2 external HDD's (having 3 copies total). Would the backup software "update" the old files that were put on the HDD during the last backup by adding/removing files that are not in the same location as the "updated" folder, or will it delete the folder on the HDD and re-copy the entire 3TB folder onto it? I'd need a software that will only copy/delete what was changed since last backup, without having to copy 3TB every time (which is very induces unnessesary wear and is time consuming). Would this software be able to do that? What is this type of backup "mode" called? Would the free version suffice? Thanks in advance to whoever can help me answer this question. 😊
@@fitogonzalez6385 none at all 😢. But it was one year ago, so I've become a little wiser since then. You should look for a software that has the ability to do incremental and/or differential backups. Hope it helps
This is a very good software but nothing works as good as original ghost when it comes to image file size and speed and maximum compression.Aomi image files are very large and it's slow.
Thanks Brian. How would you compare this software with Acronis? Acronis can be purchased at a lesser price often. I would like to see a video of using Acronis to perform backups. I have ATI 2019 and have found all of the options a bit confusing. For example, Backup_b6_s7_v1.tib as sub-folders in the backup folder. I would like to simplify my backups as much as possible without using up a ton of drive space. I do a C: partition backup once a month with the scheme to replace the previous image. I also use "Files & Folders" backup on a daily basis using the differential scheme, and this one gets somewhat complicated. Thanks in advance for your suggestions. Geo Johnson
@@Britec09 Acronis was great around V11 to V14 then fell into the wilderness for a while, 2018 is still buggy - I have it on my systems and it keeps failing to update itself. Error message is "update failed" and nothing else. They must have an ex Microsoft programmer....... I do like the Shield component of Acronis.
Yes, now that Acronis has gone to the subscription business model, I would look for something else. I am currently using Acronis True Image 2020 which is better than the 2019 version. I do a disk image backup once a month to an external drive and daily incremental disk image backups to an internal backup drive. Most people don't do backups at all, so good on you. @@zgboy23
this is what i used to clone my system when l switched to a ssd drive, free version, easy to use and did a good job, by mentioning them on facebook they turned the free version into the full version, i would reccommend this program

And since all new laptops don't have CD/DVD drives anymore, I worry, how to use USB flash drives as bootable devices. Many years I used my Paragon Drive Backup 9.0 Free Edition recovery DVD.
I looked at their site and training videos. They are from 2012. There is no live chat or phone support. You are an IS tech and this is common knowledge for you. Would you recommend "Aomei" to a home user? The home user will need the support and their looks horrible.

This software is actually totally useless. The problem is that you need administrator rights to run it. This is stupid for just backing up data. You see, I have at least two accounts on my system - an admin one for installing software and changing system settings and a restricted account that I use for just doing work. This is the recommended PC setup. I hardly ever log in as an administrator - Microsoft went to loads of trouble creating a security system and this software doesn't work correctly under that system - because you have to run as an administrator, you can't see the files and folders you want to back up, only the administrator account ones. I refuse to log in and use the PC with admin rights because you have total control over the machine and this is insecure - malware authors rely on people not worrying about system security so they can infect machines with all sorts of malicious crap. So my search for a working backup solution continues. Uninstalled immediately.
I have an SSD as the main drive, a mechanical drive as a second drive. Once a week I use Seagate Diskwizard to clone from SSD to mechanical. During the rest of the time the mech drive is disabled in device manager. I also clone the main drive to a USB 3.0 external drive. This may not be perfect, but it suits me. Has done for several years.
this sound crazy for you and i do hoppe the you listen i wass messing aorun wiht old motherboard the i do have the rampage v edtion 10 for some reason window 10 pro wont install no matter if i put uif bios only but i did wont read my samsung 970 pro because is nan ssd and isnt combatible with my motherboard so i what i did i made boootble usb drive with rufu the after serching hourd online i use ioemi to tranfer that drive to my samsung i end up i idid but noo i did free version at first the instalation i wass telling the my samsung 1tb only have 233 gb the id did and see is wass partion and nope it wasent no partation on it the after all the serch my samsung 970 steal look like usb drive maby if reaintall window with out losing dada it well fix this errorbecause if try to do a clean intall frome bios it wont read the ss because inst supporter what the suggest?
@@Britec09 I use Windows 7 and I had issues with built in backup. I decided to use AOMEI and it worked. I used Pro trial. It worked better but I need to buy pro. The Pro version is something I am needing.

I'm using Backupper for a few years for drive or system imaging and drive cloning, and I had only good experience. For data backup I'm using Syncback.

What is the difference between system backup and disk backup? Does the disk backup, if restored, include the system boot files?

It has a smaller backup file than Macrium Reflect, it comes down to what the user likes really.

Acronis is paid and better all around, but that is just my opinion. I use Acronis on my systems.

I used acronis true image from 2003,and switched to aomei around 2015 I think.For me,aomei backupper is better.

Is there a way to don't backup the system, but the settings and softwares only? To perform a clean install and keep everything
Try macrium reflect and backup only user profile folder,because all your settings are in that folder.I tried once for testing and works great.

EaseUS Todo Backup Free is very good
Why buy something when you already have it. All you have to do is back it up to another harddrive. Something free always seems to buy this!!!
