Unrelated but I didn’t realize Fedonteko did as well as he did against his old team, it seems like he scored every time you looked up in that series.
I miss Gary doing the NHL. As an Orioles fan though, I am blessed to hear him call games for MASN. He is one of the all time great sports announcers. Wish he would be mentioned more when people are mentioning the great announcers. Thanks for recognizing him with this video.

Sykora scored a pair of OT goals during the Ducks Stanley Cup run. And Matteau scored twice in OT to help the Rangers win a Stanley Cup.
thanks for putting this up matt! really appreciate gary's tv work. esp his 90's games. still can't understand why he isn't being used for nhl games since 2004?? do you or does someone know why??? a shame imo. he would be an upgrade over kenny albert in 2018 for nbc .
David Huff yeah the '05 lockout def didn't help thorne. gary did do abc tv games too. i'm not sure about the nbc situation, i do know that thorne ended up doing mlb-orioles games. anyway it's sliced it's unfortunate he's not doing nhl games anymore. emerick, i don't love or hate him, i understand there's ppl out there that find him annoying. imo the best american hockey tv guys are sam rosen (msg-rangers) and gary. color guy would be john davidson.

The lockout the next year. And ESPN lost rights. It's a damn shame no one else would hire him but the Orioles.

Any highlights of the 97, 99 and 2002 finals make me queasy because I know the Avs would have flattened the Flyers, Sabres and Hurricanes.

Ben Hopp Dang I’m so sorry. That was one of the main reasons I wanted that clip. I guess when I was checking the clips I absent-mindedly cut it down. My mistake man.
I put the Forsberg hatty in the part 4, with the rats quote included. Still dont know how or why I trimmed that quote out of the clip in this video; my bad.

As great as the Detroit-Colorado playoff matches were back in the day, the only way they can happen now is in the Finals. Unlikely, as both teams are garbage right now.

I'm sorry I can't. The only things I could find Thorne in from that final are in my original part 1 video. The only things I could find were the game 7 highlights and St. Louis' goal in game 6. All the other highlights I found were the CBC broadcasters.

Yes! Totally, Nowadays there’s no creativity from players, hitting or defense in these times in the NHL, the closest thing that gets crowds going now is probely a ridiculous save.
ESPN had much better sound mixing than NBC. Games on TSN and Sportsnet/CBC are generally louder than NBC games

@@leemcdonald1342 towards the end of his career, I think Bob Miller avoided east coast travels. So, Thorne did east coast games for the Kings local feed
About the horn, they say that it depends of the construction. AAC is a taller and wider building

which clips are you referring to?
@@MattCProductions_ Penguins/Sharks at 5:56. There is a TSN icon on the bottom left corner of the telecast. I know NBCSN would sometimes use the Sportsnet feed in the early rounds of the playoffs. And Versus would sometimes use the CBC feed.
@@fantasticvoyage262 Huh, I never noticed that. They might've done what you described. Another possibility is that someone recorded on their VCR when TSN was showing a replay of the game or something. Other than that, I don't know haha.

@@fantasticvoyage262 I don't really know. I was just thinking how NBATV airs hardwood classics and how NHL Network airs replays. They probably just aired the ESPN at the time like you said haha.

5 years later and I still kick myself for doing that. I wanted to include the hat trick clips solely because of that call, but I mistakenly cropped it too short. Someone else commented this a couple years ago, and I still feel bad
