Young Wade was sooo nasty, definitely reminded me of young Mj with his relentless attacks at the basket.
I'm actually surprised we didn't hear more comparisons between Wade and MJ. Of course, each is his own player, but I was just surprised given how the media tries to compare everybody and their mama to MJ. The way D Wade absorbed contact on his drives was just absurd.

I always imagined a prime Dwyane Wade in today’s pace and space NBA.
Dude was getting buckets when paints where still fairly clogged and defense was still holding teams to under 100.
He’d be virtually unguardable in a 5 out spread pick and roll system similar to what the Mavs/Bucks/Rockets do.

Wade would’ve averaged 40 & 11 APG shooting 50+% from the field if he played in today’s era. Wade wouldn’t need to shoot a 3, he would get in the paint at will & shoot the midrange if they leave him open.
Teams might be so sacred of his midrange he get in the paint anyway, plus his hesi dribble to sell the drive would be so lethal no need to pull up. He’s quicker & faster than everybody & with all the spacing & less physical D he will be hard to stop. Only thing to stop is doubling & triple teaming him before he reaches halfcourt
What I love about DWade Game when he was in his Prime, he was trying to get to the rim, he would hit a jumper here and there but he was straight to the basket and he was quick. The way he used to split screens and slash through defense, he was fun to watch lol used to kill the pistons
I remember he tried to shoot more 3s for a bit, but then was like "Nah F it, fam" and went back to attacking. Relentless!

Regular season and post season combined, this was definitely Wade's best season overall. Wade might have put up better regular season numbers in 2008-09 because he was carrying a heavier load, but he was already in his prime in 2005-06. Why are you acting like he couldn't be in his prime because he was 24 years old? I can name so many players that were in their prime by age 24. Actually most superstars are probably in their primes by age 24.

Because he was. Similar athleticism but shorter with a worse mid-range and 3pt shot. Better handle and better at splitting pick and rolls but not as durable or effective as MJ. They take the same amount of 3’s per game.

Wade was so nasty, he could have been in the GOAT convo if he had not gotten injured throughout his career and also if he had had more of a drive to be the GOAT, but he seemed incapable or unwilling to go after previous greats like Jordan and Kobe and Iverson and eventually even Lebron. His humility which in a way is admirable and was what allowed him to allow Lebron to come be the alpha which in turn resulted in lots of success, was also what denied him basketball immortality as potentially being in that top 5 or 10 of all time. Still though I have him in my top 20
