There's so much to love about Indicator. I'd add that I was delighted to buy 6 of the surplus booklets from their site - i.e. ones I'd missed out on by getting the standard editions of certain releases. So, standard editions can sometimes be close-to-converted to the special editions. Secondly, I missed out on the limited edition of the The Last Movie, but they gave me a copy of the book and poster free of charge! Fantastic customer service. I'm salivating over the noir collections.
I ordered an embarrassing amount of titles in their October sale 2024, my first dive into Indicator. Wow! Wish I had been turned onto this label long before. Beautiful case art, special features galore, and a curation of films which unfortunately ALL appeal to my “gotta have it” bug. I even ordered my first all region player specifically to enjoy what they have to offer. I haven’t even received my order yet and I’m tempted to go back for more! Do you know if they offer such great sales in other months?
Thanks for the video and the inspiration to buy more indicator titles...I have just ordered 'age of consent', 'lilith' and 'suddenly last summer' which I have been meaning to add to my collection for some time ! At 3 for £20 and a small amount of postage this is by no means a bad deal.
Got some of the same titles. I got Age of Consent, Suddenly Last Summer, and Experiment in Terror myself in the November 2023 sale. First time buying from Indicator.
Thanks Crusader. Love your pick up videos! October was crazy. I ordered some of the on sale dvds including Hardcore and Night of the Demon. And i just made my first Eureka order! Im not region free yet but looks like im going to be! That Hunchback of Notre Dame and Most Dangerous Game edition is just too beautiful and tempting. I still have the old Criterion dvd. Happy viewing! Thanks for the great content!
You're welcome! Welcome to the world of import madness...your wallet will hate you but the titles being produced are absolute knockouts! Definitely grab a region free player. I recommend a modded Sony from 220 Electronics which can be had for about $100. You can go bigger in terms of price/model/features depending on what you're looking for.
@@DamnFoolIdealisticCrusader thanks, i had an old sketchy region free player before the days of blu ray. I got it just so i could play this korean import of Fistful of Dynamite i obtained, also before it had a US release. So it still feels like a back alley deal to me haha, but i know its come a long way since then.
I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on how the Harryhausen titles compare, video and audio-wise, from the Sony/Columbia discs from here in the states. They are a bit long in the tooth now. "First Men in the Moon" from Twilight Time looks and sounds great. I found "Jason and the Argonauts" and "Mysterious Island" to have some edge enhancement and ringing.
As far as I can tell Indicator had to use the Sony masters or the newest available for the most part. So it’s better encoding, packaging and extras that are the major draw. They seemingly were able to slightly tweak some of them but weren’t allowed to do anything other than reissue Sony’s Jason disc in their boxset.
Great pickups, as always. I placed a free shipping order as well, but unfortunately I pre-ordered The Big Gundown, which was just pushed back to January 30th! 😩 I also ordered the Universal Noir and Mae West sets, Remember the Night, The Swimmer, Creatures the World Forgot, Robin Hood at Hammer, and several LEs. It looks like it'll be Christmas in February for me lol.
I almost did that as well but decided to get The Big Gundown separately. Speaking of which now there's December and January titles I'd like to pick up...;)
In some ways yes but others no. I’m just glad they don’t change anything else discwise. I’d love to have everything as the original Limited edition but I have missed out on a number of things. The only things that I really wish I had are the boxsets I’ve missed like hammer volume one and William Castle, volume one.
I just heard of Indicator blu rays. I understand they are region free. Does that mean I can play them in my regular Canadian Region A Samsung blu ray player? I'm interested in Hammer Horror The gorgon and Revenge of Frankenstein from Amazon. Hesitate to pull the trigger because not sure if my blu ray player will play region free discs.
They do a very good job at trying to be region free when they can and putting the information on the discs and website listing. If you look up any disc on their site it will say the region. They used to be able to make most everything region free but unfortunately most studios started cracking down on this and Indicator had to start region locking everything. Region free players are a very good option and very inexpensive nowadays at around $100. Or you might find a player with a region workaround.
Richard Lapp, Anne Randall, Bob Random and Miss Beatrice Kay with guest stars Victor Jory and Audie Murphy...it was made in 1969 and I think was Budd Boetticher's last western...with superb photography by Lucien Ballard....
@@ositofreitas sadly no. Indicator still makes titles region free when they’re allowed to but most studios cracked down. Region free players are very inexpensive these days though.
a lovely haul!! something about that classic artwork it's so compelling. Thanks for sharing

I love the Indicator site. Found them during the pandemic. And love their discs.
Awesome update today
Another fantastic in depth video with a phenomenal haul.
My guess/hope is that Universal noir already released by Kino will be on future Indicator bluray sets.

Great vid, some fascinating looking films there

Does it bother you to have a mix of standard and limited editions? The different sleeve sizes annoy me. 😂

I have absolution on the original PAL LD

Lov powerhouse box sets
You called a Scanavo an Amaray case. My disappointment is immeasurable.
Slip of the tongue., My brain just sees a disc case and immediately thinks "Amaray" as shorthand.
