Thanks for this, we have the LB650a as well ours started leaking and we still haven't determined where. We just started looking.

did you have a solenoid on the bottom side that you replaced? just wondering because on my recent purchase of a LB650a there is a solenoid and i need to know how it gets wired up. a picture of the underside installed would be extremely helpful!

Altec service 24 hr part's. I called later in the day on this particular repair is about 7:00 in the evening so I ended up getting somebody from Australia on their parts order service. He ended up sending me five emails that had the service manual sections in it to look through and then I use that to tell him what part numbers I needed I ordered all the seals that were in the turret valve. I do remember him telling me the cost of the manual was like 300 bucks he told me he'd send it to me as long as I didn't know where I got it ;-). As far as knowing how to rebuild the valve the only experience I had going off of was doing an excavator rotary valve not but a couple months earlier for a friend on his excavator. I just took lots of pictures of where lines were color coded the lines with colored zip ties when I took the valve apart a lot more pictures that way I had something to look back on when I was assembling to make sure I was in the right order. Make sure everything's got plenty of oil on the reassembly of the valve as you slide things back together so you don't pinch any seals take your time be thorough.sitting here thinking about it I also think I used a ring compressor which you can get at any auto parts store after I would put the earrings on I would put the ring compressor on to make things shrink tighter before I was working the valve back together. I hope that helps.

I went through Altec. There pretty good to order parts through. Their service side is ridiculously expensive and they don't help much.

I ordered through altec they do have a 24-hour parts division so if you call in the evening you'll talk to somebody in Australia which really I have found them to be a little more helpful than during the day one gentleman sent me an entire manual through email that later I found out is a $300 purchase I was pretty tickled about that but the part side is good to deal with the service side like in Columbus or if you go somewhere local I don't know they operate on a whole different conscience level and they don't like to help

I ordered through all text parts division you can order almost around the clock if you call in the evening you'll get somebody from Australia or at least I have the last couple times they're pretty good to deal with I even had one gentleman send me the entire manual through email took five email messages later I found out that was a $300 manual if you were to buy it from him that made it nice to look through and find out exactly what I needed if you contact the shop side of altec they have a whole different ethics they don't want to help you unless you're bringing it to him and even then they're super expensive
