    There's no substitute for quality. Can't wait for WOT201. Was a great idea to start these 101 videos well ahead of the premier. Treasure trove

    Just smashed out the full WoT 101 playlist, mid re-read and in anticipation of the season one finale. Thanks for all your hard work, your ability to keep spoiler free, your great animations, and unreal voice-over voice!!

    My mother just finished the books and your channel is the first one that I am going to introduce her to. Your content is awesome and your graphic design is the best on TH-cam. 😀👍

    This channel is going to blow up like Summoning Salt did. The quality, care, and production value you put into these is top notch. I've read the series many times over and still look forward to these everytime you post one.
    I'd love to see more on the larger historical aspect of the series. Either way, keep up the fantastic work on these videos.

      I appreciate that! More "Wheel of Timelines" videos are in the works, but with the show just around the corner I've shifted my focus for now. I'd love to be able to do this full time so that I could keep doing deep dives!

    I could be wrong; I am no expert .. but there are a few key points missing from how you describe Trollocs creation and breeding. It should be stated that Robert Jordan himself stated the information in the Companion books, "while broadly canonical was written from the perspective of an historian within The Wheel of Time universe and was prone to errors of bias and guesswork." If you factor in that the Foresaken themselves didn't fully understand Fades in the WoT series, it is reasonable to assume much of the lore historians wrote would be guesswork. A great example is the Trolloc father Forsaken Aginor, in his quest to make "super-soldiers" may have nothing to do with the origins or creation of Fades; Infact we have no origin evidence for Fades, nor how they "breed" or are "created." While Trollocs have physical characters of animals indicating their past genetic manipulation. I have always speculated that Trollocs reproduced only with human females, as female trollocs are not found in the series, and their existance is only speculated in the companion. As far as Myrddrall, just like in great valley of Thakan'dar, where shadow-forgers forge the tainted swords of Myrddraal at the cost of human souls, I suspect the Darkone somehow uses human souls to forge Myddraal... a captured tainted soul wielding a captured tainted soul. Again just speculation, but perhaps you should have mentioned the "guesswork" of the components in the Companion series.

    Isn't it said in books that throwbacks to the animal stock tend to die? So can there even be Trolloc children?

    • @UnravelingthePattern
      @UnravelingthePattern  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some of them do die, and those with weird claws or feet are left to the elements, but most Trollocs come from female Trollocs. Where do you think they came from for the 3000 years that Aginor was trapped? The companion says that some are rejected but many are bred with the sole purpose of serving the Dark One.

    • @koalasedai
      @koalasedai 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      aren't the throwbacks the Fades? they don't breed, but the Trollocs do breed, or are 'bred'

    • @UnravelingthePattern
      @UnravelingthePattern  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@koalasedai throwbacks to the "original human stock" are Myrddraal. Trollocs are animal/human stock hybrids.
